The Jackson movie museum?
The Herald reports:
There’s speculation filmmaker Sir Peter Jackson’s movie museum in Wellington could finally materialise – bringing to life a plan that has been more than a decade in the making.
Interests associated with The Lord of the Rings director have spent $105 million buying a large piece of land near the city’s airport in Lyall Bay in what has been announced as this year’s biggest land deal.
There are rumours it could be the new site for his movie museum. Jackson and his partner Dame Fran Walsh have not publicly commented on their plans for the site.
I hope it is. I think such a museum could rival Te Papa as a tourist destination.
Even better if it gets done without ratepayer or taxpayer subsidies!
