There appear to be people who comment on this blog who actually think Kamala Harris is a serious person who is actually running to be president of the United States?
It’s not true and here’s why. She finally sits down for a one on one interview with a friendly local journalist who asks her what specifically she would do to bring down prices? Her answer is a model of vacuity about her being raised in a middle class home where her neighbours were very proud of their lawns. The answer is very similar to what she gave in the debate and is obviously her memorised response.

Kamala is just not there. Even if she wins she won’t be president of the United States. Who’ll actually be in charge is anyone’s guess but it will be the same people who’ve been in charge since Joe Biden occupied the office as a senile figurehead.

Here’s the thing. You might not like Trump but if he wins he’ll definitely be the president. He’ll be the one making the decisions. Kamala won’t. She is merely the front person for the globalists.

  That redstate.com article does exactly what you are claiming the ABC is doing to justify their “train wreck” headline. Their “transcript” doesn’t even match the question Taff actually asks, because they CUT out the first part of the question in the video:

  If you watch the ABC video the actual question is
  
  “You hear it more than I do. People want to hear more about you, about your specific plans.   In the full interview she clearly addresses people wanting to know about herself and the opportunity economy and two specific parts of her plans, but redstate cuts out the last half of her answer to make it look like her response is rambling and has nothing to do at all with the question. No, she doesn’t address bringing down prices, but this article is grossly contrived.

1. This is only a guide for the legal drafting, so not the final Bill
2. The Guide issued says everyone has the same rights unless otherwise stated in law.
3. The Treaty itself is NOT a source of seperate rights.
4. Acknowledges that elected Governments do have the ability to enter into new agreements and laws that do enact seperate rights.

IMO that makes sense. But the details will need to be fully explained.

  The Treaty itself is NOT a source of seperate rights.
  
  But in fact, it is.
  The Treaty is an 1840 arrangement between the then ‘Crown’ and Maori.
  There is no equivalent arrangement for non-Maori New Zealanders, apart from an indirect implication in Article 3 – as “British subjects”, but it does say “the people in England”.
  
  That is why ACT’s proposed legislation is needed – to hopefully cut through all the confusion, miss-information and crap that has been created, when anyone is really yet to see the bill.

    In making Maori citizens of the empire, the crown guarantees that Maori engagement with non-Maori is conducted under the same common set of laws.
    
    Any attempt as a bloc to secure special rights for Maori constitutes treaty breach.

      Alloytoo, I do agree agree with your point, and that Maori did come under common law of England, and now are part of an independent Dominion, as I understand it.
      
      It is perhaps still a pity that an Amendment doesn’t reflect that, or specifically include non-Maori New Zealanders.

I have accounts on Tiktok, Facebook and Twitter. I dabble, but am not particularly active on all of them.

There is a very noticable increase, particularly on TikTok, of what is, to me at least, obviously AI generated misinformation.

Less sophisticated individuals will find it more and more difficult to discern fact from fiction. In fact, one of the reasons that Taylor Swift endorsed one candidate was the AI generated, false endorsement of the other candidate, who gleefully reposted it on his own social media.

This election seems to have far more misinformation, which, given the amount of media channels there are available, was predictable.

  * These images, video and sound are more realistic than ever before.

Though in fairness, it’s not only Green politicians who seem to be more interested in being seen to do something than in whether that something actually achieves anything; and the media are culpable in allowing, if not actually encouraging them in that.

There should be no shame, in fact there should be great kudos, for a politician in acknowledging that while policy x was worth a try, in practice it hasn’t worked as intended so let’s stop doing that, learn the lessons and move on.

There are then 8 photos of those beautiful girls that she killed, all by her self. Sick.
I would confirm that have not purchased a copy of this once great newspaper for many years – I do receive a free email each day giving a few headline stories which simply confirms what a useless left wing rag it now is.

  I could be wrong, but there’s a number of people convicted every year in NZ for murdering or otherwise harming kids and I don’t recall any of them getting publicity except to protest their innocence, which obviously doesn’t apply in this instance.

      She is most probably at a medium secure forensic mental health facility, probably Hillmorton (where she was originally detained). Such facilities are managed by health authorities, not Corrections. Rules about communications are probably less stringent than for Corrections run institutions.

Congratulations to the Tasman Mako for retaining the Ranfurly Shield in Blenheim yesterday.
Also good to see a big crowd at the game.
Not particularly good was the TV commentary. The main talker, Tony? was sure from the get go that the magnificent Wellington team had this game in the bag. He raved about certain players in the Wellington side who would surely get the job done.
Tasman Mako players – not so much.
Have heard this guy Tony before and he does seem to have preferences for both Wellington and Auckland teams to win.

Boo hoo Tony. Mako now the only unbeaten team in the comp.
NZ Rugby – maybe time to take off the blinkers and give some more time and respect to the provincial teams and their players.

  Yes he was appalling – Wellington dominating he continued to say while the first 20 minutes was carried out almost exclusively between the 10 metre lines except when Tasman scored the opening points.
  But worse still – after the end of the game what about his launch into a foreign language to profess his proficiency in this to go with his equal medical ability, despite any actual qualifications.
  Some of us may remember him during a certain period not that long ago urging all listeners to obtain that safe and effective thingee so they could enjoy a summer of freedom.
  At times I wish I didn’t enjoy my sport so much so I could cancel the Sky subscription.

      Who/how many were these people?
      What generally did they say?
      What was wrong with the group’s comments?

Piece in the Herald where the principal of the Mount Albert Grammar was enthusiastically positive about the cell phone ban.

Then the Herald had to dredge up Papatoetoe High School principal and Secondary Principals’ Association New Zealand (SPANZ) president, Vaughan Couillault moaning that the government should have banned vaping.

“Kids aren’t leaving class to use their cellphones; they’re wagging class to cloister covertly in toilets and vape,” he said.

Smoke Free legislation already applies to smoking and vaping indoors, Mr Couillault. Which makes it a failure of discipline on your part.

    In preparation contraception was banned and there were kids everywhere
    The whole scheme fizzled out as church membership plummeted, schools sold out to the state and churches were sold off

This was triggered by the former Economy Minister saying that the lock-downs were extended for political gain, not public health reasons. Separately, a legislator has filed a criminal complaint that prolonged lock-downs were an illegitimate deprivation of liberty.

I see Hipkins’ favourability and rating as preferred PM have plummeted in the latest Taxpayer’s Union Poll, but I’m surprised it has taken so long.

Hipkins is utterly clueless when it comes to identifying the issues that matter most to voters. He still thinks new taxes, support for trans and being anti-Israel are what matters most.

I also read somewhere that he is off to London to learn from UK Labour how they won the recent election. He doesn’t seem to realise that Labour didn’t win, the Tories lost. He also doesn’t seem to know that UK Labour’s support has also fallen very quickly in a very short time. Starmer is less popular than he is.
