It all adds up to not enough patches to go around.

        Get a grip. Drug companies have actuaries to work this out.
        They also have marketing departments working out how to make the most money from the least cost.
        They also know who is going to buy their product.
        The idea that women have become suddenly aware is an insult to the intelligence of women and their GPs.
        Trannys are probably not the reason for the shortage, but they are a very good excuse for the price rise.

      Women have existed for a very long time.
      There has always been plenty of estrogen available until the trannys showed up.

Links that show a demand in hrt patches after a campaign to educate woman on what is available to them. Links that show there were production issues, namely an ingredients used in the production of hrt. Also a decrease in products available due to brands being discontinued.
        
        Instead of posting myths, go educate yourself on the actual cause of the shortages, but that would then mean you can’t go around making shit up and blaming trans for a shortage that has nothing to do with them.

    XY to XX just take the hormones and grow their own breasts. Some might get implants too but that’s not funded as far as I know. The XX to XY getting their tits chopped off will however be taking up the surgical time of those who could be doing reconstructions. Probably good practice for the junior registrar though.

        It’s hardly contentious BY. Simple first year university level knowledge of human Biology and an understanding of which specialties do what in medicine. Most men can grow quite impressive breasts, some do so even without the hormones. Mastectomies are fairly straightforward but still require a bit of plastics skill to minimise the scarring.
        wsk12345 seems to be under the impression that women don’t have pectoral muscles. I suggest he take a look at women’s body building.

  I can’t understand their rationale that such wards were ever needed. The maori seats were only ever an interim measure before universal suffrage. Anyone of age can vote nationally and locally. Any number of like-minded people can form a group and meet with individual councillors and get an item on any council agenda, even an individual can do all that, and have their concern or want heard and even acted upon. The Indian, Islamic, LGB, women’s and many other groups to name just a few, do this all the time.

And oh, what a reception he gets.

Barbara Walters greets him as “My friend”. The audience stands and cheers, He exchanges hugs and kisses with Joy Behar and,,, Whoopie Goldberg.

He even says some of the same things he’s saying today, and gets plaudits for it.
– He talks about other nations taking advantage of us, and that resonates with Joe Behar, who says, “That is crazy.”…,
– We wouldn’t continue to be a great country if we keep going this way, he says, and the audience cheers….
– Walters asks him whether he thinks his marriages and divorces would be an impediment, which is a legitimate news question. He makes a joke that gets laughs, then says he thinks the country is doing so badly they want someone who is going to help it.
– Joy Behar even calls him a social liberal.

Four years later when he ran for President as a Republican he was Hitler and has remained so ever since.

This is what a cult is. Or as another person put it:

332 “providers” identified as dodgy.
The questions are, how many of these service providers are there, why are there so many, and what do they do?
How big is the problem they are trying to solve, and who caused the problem?
This looks like an industry that is designed to use and abuse children to ensure that there is a money supply to its participants.

  For what it is worth, this is a program they are cutting because the people using the service were not families that OT had any involvement with.
  They are redirecting the money to spend on kids in need of OT’s help.
  It may well be a good service but it is not OT’s to fund, it should potentially be MSD.
  Even though it sounds like it no I don’t work for OT and no I don’t think they are perfect but in this case I think they are getting a bad rap.

  Hard to know, there has been a flood of polls from left leaning outlets that have Harris ahead, while right leaning pollsters such as Rasmussen with consistent methodology have hardly moved.
  
  I’d be pretty sure polls have moved towards Harris, by a point or two from Trump compared to Biden, but I am highly dubious of the 3-4% swing that pollsters working for outlets aligned with DNC are claiming.
  
  The huge and consistent 6-8pt divergence between polls for the two political camps, when standard deviation is only ~2-3 based on sample size suggests there is more than a little deliberate biasing of results going on – that poll results are being tortured for use as a propaganda/electioneering tool. There are a lot more DNC aligned polls than Republican, so I would assume it is generally bi-modal in that regard and weight the ‘average’ more towards the republican side compared to the naive simple average that RealClearPolitics uses. Ie half way between the extremes

    I wonder if Harris, today, and Ardern, in her day, ever realised where this slogan comes from?
    It is best known as a Nike ad that was used between about 1988 and 1998.
    However the person who produced it for Nike got the idea from a Gary Gilmore who demanded the implementation of the death penalty he had received for a couple of murders he had committed in Utah. At the time the sentence was routinely reduced to a life sentence. He got his wish and was executed by a firing squad. His last words were “Let’s do this” and they were picked up by Nike as the inspiration for their ad campaign.
    Do you think our politicians who use it were aware of the source of the words?

  In the period immediately preceding the 2023 general election Mr W. Jackson was at pains to point out over and over the $900 Million annually ‘he had secured for Maori’ and that it was ‘more than any other Maori Minister’ and that if that was to continue Maori people must vote Labour.

The website is typical Government – full of Maori, but when you get to the actual entry of data, it says “This form must be completed in English”.
You mean people that wrote the website speak Maori, but people that read the data don’t!

“Bomber” Bradbury targets State TV and radio in a raid at his blog today, and speculates mightily on TV3.

He’s over the target on Radio NZ with a startling claim or revelation that Morning Report has 16 producers compared with two producers for Mike Hosking’s Breakfast.

But Bradbury surely drops his bombs in a paddock when he extrapolates from the departure of a senior Stuff figure to a view that Rupert Murdoch’s news empire might pounce on TV3.

First Rupert Murdoch, at 93 and nominally retired, is fighting to give the Right-winger of his children, Lachlan, the power in the Murdoch media empire.

Second, the departure of Stuff’s Laura Maxwell to a Murdoch job in Queensland seems to be the sum of Bradbury’s evidence that a Murdoch takeover of TV3 is in place.

Discovery NZ, owner of TV3, reported a loss of $138.2 million for 2023.

Given the general decline of television news, why would Murdoch want it?

One minute I hear there’s a serious nursing shortage
Next thing there’s a surplus
I understand there’s different types of nurses, but there’s never going to be a situation where the number required exactly equals those available
Is it not possible for personnel to be encouraged to retrain/relocate to balance the sinking ship?

Maybe it’s just me, but I get the impression certain parts of the system are being prepared for privatization
Get your hip replacement now and contribute towards the cost or wait two years, five years or whatever

The fact that you say ‘you don’t understand’ what is going on tends to bear this out. Dr Levy has said the plan is not to cut the frontline of health services, the plan is to bolster it. He couldn’t be clearer. Your claim that all the confusing ‘sound and fury’ emanating from media and unions indicates that parts of the system are being ‘prepared for privatisation’ seems paranoid to say the least. But ‘privatisation paranoia’ is a familiar theme with the Left.

  I generally like and agree with what Sir Bob writes. But his position on Kamala over Trump is truly weird. I can understand him not liking Trump (I too think he is a bafoon), but Trump is still 100 times better than Harris.
  
  Sir Bob had no time for Ardern, and Harris is exactly the same nut job, so I just don’t get it. If he said he wouldn’t vote for either Trump or Harris and pick RFK Jnr instead, then that would probably be a more consistent position.

Well, he is a nasty, nasty Democrat so he could. Merchan has for the 3rd time refused to recuse himself. There is of course the Dudge may get cold feet and put a stop to it, including reversing all 34 convictions. I don’t know.

  It’s unlikely because at the moment the Supreme Court has stayed out of it but they will move quickly if a Presidential Nominee is jailed before the election. Merchan will get absolutely roasted if that happens AND Trump’s conviction will be overturned. It’s more likely that he’ll pretend to care about democracy and just leave “Convicted Felon!!!!!!!” there for everyone to see.
  On the other hand, if he jails Trump, they could attack the Supreme Court for throwing out the conviction and score political points that way. It could also explain why Harris has delayed the debate as long as possible, in the hopes he’ll be in jail.
  
  Either way, the conviction is and always was a joke.

  Steve – I think there is a better than even chance that Trump gets thrown in jail come Sept 18th. And that would cause widespread chaos in the US. Just weeks out before the election day, and voting already underway.

So a family member decides to move into their deceased relative’s KO house, changes the locks, won’t let anyone official in and refuses to leave – for 10 months.
Yeah, yeah, I get it. People are entitled.
But then get to the end of the report to find that:
“No rent was charged or paid over this time”.
Why not?
Why should this trespasser live free in someone else’s house for 10 months?
Is that KO general practice? Let the trespasser call the shots and pay no rent?
The taxpayer will pick up the tab.

  You’re right. Names should be published at the trial stage. If the defendant is acquitted, they are innocent. If they are convicted, there is no proper reason to keep their names secret. Naming the defendant in sexual cases such as this not infrequently brings forth other complainants. The continuing ability to suppress names arises ifroma bygone era when there was no other news so the fact that someone had been charged was disproportionately newsworthy. That and the assumption that if someone was charged, they must be guilty. Those days are gone. It is arrogant of judges to assume that the NZ public will pillory someone regardless of verdict, and arrogant of parliament to consider it is necessary to hide people’s identities. New Zealand is alone in common law jurisdictions in the breadth of its name suppression powers. Other than to preserve fair trial rights, name suppression is an outdated, outmoded and paternalistic anachronism

The astonishing racism of TVNZ on full display again tonight. White people are verboten from reporting on any Treaty related matters, it must be a Maori reporter. The Treaty impacts on all of us, but you can forget about one of the hated Pakeha ever being allowed to report about it.
Anyway, at Turangawaewae the PM and umpteen other government ministers showed up to receive the usual fiery invective and abuse, while grovelling at the feet of the Maori King. National and NZ First rolled out a red carpet of appeasement, assuring the angry activists that they will not vote for Seymours bill past the first reading. The moral cowardice continues.
