The more the Treaty is examined, the plainer it becomes that it is an historic agreement between the Crown and Maori Chiefs of 1840

As a guide for the lives – entitlements, responsibilities, and mental wellbeing – of the now roughly 83 percent of New Zealanders who are not Maori. is it not time a Declaration of Rights is established for this portion of the population, who apparently have no National Founding Document.

    Waititi and his people should spend far more time on the actuality of their history and stop trying to make up claims on the basis of what never happened.
    
    The fact Labour’s leadership idiots thought they could “secure the Maori vote forever” shows how badly they misled themselves. The ruination caused to the country by Palmer’s fatuous orchestration and manifestation of “Treaty principles” has increased and been dishonestly manifested ever since.
    
    New Zealand simply has to wake up to how Labour MPs and some National MPs have been totally screwed by part-Maori opportunists and their promises into not ONE but THREE “full and final” settlements. Demonstrably, from the conduct of Waititi, Ngarewa-Packer, Tuku Morgan et al, nothing has been “settled at all.”
    
    Accordingly, the third settlement should be totally revoked and repaid back to the Crown.

  If the treaty says Maori property rights should be upheld, and someone suggests that everyone’s property rights should be upheld, that does not contradict the treaty.

    Given our country’s history, there is a modest obligation to support those who wish to speak it, but beauty is very much in the individual’s judgement, and only one criterion of judgement; moreover, this obligation is but one of many demands on taxpayers’ pockets.

    TB, French spoken by children is approaching ‘beautiful’, and perhaps because of the rather large vocabulary to draw from. Early Maori which I can remember being spoken up North by old folk was a pleasure to hear because it was pronounced softly. Whangarei was never ‘Farngaray’, in fact the ‘f’ was hardly noticeable above the ‘w’.

    Modest? Get a grip Tom. Just count up the millions of dollars spent by taxpayers on maori TV, maori radio and little Willie Jackson then wanted TVNZ and Red Radio to use the language more because the ratings of all these maori language stations was so low. No-one wanted to listen!!!!
    
    Might pay you to read some of the books on language which document just why languages rise and fall and some are lost forever. The general consensus is that when Governments pour money in to “saving” a language, it achieves nothing. Relevance to the modern world is why languages thrive. I seem to remember a TV story on such a subject that opened up with a shot of a French airliner flying over the Swiss Alps on its way to Italy. The language used in all its communications was English.
    
    The Polynesian group of languages has its roots in those groups of islands – maybe these islands need to pour money into the preservation of their language – but I don’t think they need to, do they?

        Maybe G the giant is like me. I read my comments 3 times before posting, and see no mistakes. Only when going through the comments I have made I then pick up the typo or just not making sense.
        I truly asked my Doctor about this – and he is not a trick cyclist. He said my proof reading sees the comment as an image – not individual text. Therefore I don’t see the typos etc.
        I made a fucking clanger the other day, it got right past me until later.

        Don’t worry, Steve Otto(North Shore), your ‘clanger’ the other day was merely one (admittedly important) letter missing from one word. We all do that, as well as omit a word from a sentence. That is because, as when I do it, my tiny brain is racing ahead of my right index finger.
        
        What Ghost and mawm are very correctly saying, is that many of G the giant’s comments are literally unreadable. That is because, in my opinion, he blasts his responses out on his phone, (usually) while full of anger, the inevitable result being unintelligible nonsense.
        
        What is highly annoying about all this, is that not only does G the giant not check, and correct, his comments before posting them, but he has been told about his unnecessary carelessness many times before, yet there has been no discernible improvement.

    Tom, I guarantee those efforts you refer to (superimposing it on government departments, shoehorning it into English language forums, changing place names etc – all of it with no public consultation) are having the opposite effect. The way languages survive is through having significant numbers of native speakers (like Afrikaans in South Africa for example). Annoying people doesn’t work.

  When I was at school I was forced to learn Latin which I had little interest in
  My 6yo granddaughter can read and write te reo because she enjoys the language. She’s also a nipper lifeguard and loves cricket, so her Dad tells me.
  For myself I know very little te reo, which is a shame, but down in Timaru/Christchurch when I was growing up Māori were so scarce they could be ignored
  My grandchildren will be around for maybe seventy years after I’m gone and it’s going to be their country to speak whatever language they want

    Forced to learn Latin? Not sure how old you are, but I am 62, Latin was always an extra subject, unless you are quite a bit older I can’t remember hearing anyone say they were forced to learn Latin.
    
    There were reasons certain people needed to learn Latin, Doctors, I presume dentists, people reading tests and doing X-ray, and even the priest hood you needed Latin, doctors especially, that has probably changed now, but they were very important for some who needed Latin too succeed

      Hubby and I are 8 and 9 years older than you.
      back in the 1960s if you attended a large state school, you were often placed into streamed classes…and the Schools offered different pathways into your future workstream….
      
      My school had professional, general, technical (boys only), commercial / homecraft (girls only).
      
      Latin and French were compulsory subjects for children in one of the professional classes.
      
      I wouldn’t have had a clue as to what I wanted to do at age 12 when I was enrolled for secondary school, but I know I had no particular interest in French or Latin… (and as I was soon to discover – no aptitude for them).

        I can cope with the written side of languages…
        but am hopeless with oral/aural aspects of foreign language.
        
        I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact that I am amusical – tone deaf, unable to clap in time, or move in rhythm, can’t sing in tune, etc, etc.
        
        I managed to get A grades in a couple of stage one Korean papers when I was in my mid 50s, but that was only from putting in more effort into those lessons than I had ever put into any subject I’d studied.
        
        However, apart from a few greetings and very basic questions, I quickly reverted to English when in Korea.

      1980s Auckland Grammar, Latin was compulsory, at least for the top classes. In fact I took to to school cert level (5th form). Other subjects would have been much more useful,and I have never found it useful and forgotten it. French was more interesting, and useful for travel and owning French cars. Doubt if I can speak it any more, but an still read ok, if j can remember the vocab.
      Big difference, Latin was useless to me, French had it’s uses. I away pretty average un both languages, but I am more a science need.

        Debsta’s statement is clearly expressed as an opinion, not as a statement of fact.
        
        An honest opinion, where the person can prove they have reasonable grounds to make the statement, is not defamatory.
        
        Debsta’s opinion that this looks like a slick, well practiced movement is proof enough that it was a reasonable opinion for Debsta to make.
        
        Debsta might be incorrect. GG might have only shoplifted three times in her life (unlikely, extremely unlikely), but being wrong does not make an opinion defamatory.
        
        Various statistics from various sources suggest that shoplifters get caught somewhere between 2% and 5% of the time. That suggest that for every time a shoplifter is caught they have committed 20 to 50 offences (or they are extremely unskilled and unlucky).
        
        Based on that, the statistics would suggest that someone who has been caught three times has shoplifted somewhere between 60 and 150 times.
        
        That is of course assuming that there have not been other times when the Green party (or others) have dealt with the problem and made it go away.

    The Thrill in her teenage years could not be replaced by other activities, such as joinung the coast guard, volunter fireman, going for a sky dive etc etc.
    Herein lies the problem of living in a big city and an inactive / un stimulated mind.
    I also have zero tollerance for playing the victim.
    A simple pychmetric test would of highlighted any personality disorders.

When I worked in retail we had a fella (unemployed cuzzy bro) coming in to the shop teaching his preschooler/ primary school children how to shoplift. Caught by the manager eventually and trespassed from entering.

        By contrast, nobody has any justification for believing the claim (characterised as Debsta’s “strong suspicion”) that “GG will have been shoplifting since her early teens and getting away with it” because nobody can verify this claim because there is no evidence in favour of it.
        
        It is common for claims, like this one, to be made for political reasons that are unsupported by any evidence. Until there is evidence, they are, quite literally, unevidenced assertions.

The provisional net migration gain of 127,400 in the November 2023 year comprised a net gain of 171,900 non-citizens.

But there was a net migration loss of 44,500 New Zealand citizens.

That net migration loss was provisionally a new annual record, greater than previous record of 44,400 in the February 2012 year.

An estimated net 44,978 citizens of India arrived, 34,268 from the Philippines, 16,408 from China, 9854 from Fiji and 8319 from South Africa.

For the year ended June 2023, Stats NZ recorded a provisional net migration loss of 21,100 people to Australia.

That comprised 19,500 migrant arrivals from Australia to New Zealand, and 40,600 migrant departures heading in the opposite direction

While I am happy that this will likely have a positive effect on my property values, is it really a good thing?

It’s massively covering up the damage done to the economy over the last 6 years but its certainly no longer the nz I used to know.

    They’re here to change the demographics from European to non-European. They are being brought here as a policy.
    
    While we are indoctrinated to believe that white identity is evil that should be avoided at all cost (in contrast to any and all other racial or ethnic identities), a sense of white identity will necessarily grow as a direct consequence of Europeans increasingly seeing themselves as being distinct.
    
    In large European-majority nations, people have hitherto not really appreciated what they are. When high levels of difference are introduced, that will change. It will be an appreciation of the difference of others that leads to an appreciation of similarity between ourselves.

      I actually agree with you here, Che. NZ Europeans (I am one) have been complacent about our heritage and culture and taken it for granted for too long – because we have been a large majority. Compare and contrast with white South Africans, particularly Afrikaners – who have preserved a strong identity precisely because they have always felt (understandably) that they face an existential threat.

      Why can’t we produce our own? How about we ditch the immigration policy and start training New Zealanders.
      
      The main impetus to mass immigration into European countries, aside from making those countries less white and therefore less likely to resist the increasing globalisation of politics, is that the graph has to keep going up constantly: more people means more consumption and higher asset prices.
      
      The system is predicated on constant growth, and would collapse if left to natural cycles, so it needs to be artificially “inflated” constantly. And we all know what eventually happens when you over-inflate the “ball” that is society.

      Don’t forget the health sector. We have had a lot of tenants from the Philippines working in health. As they have continuous employment assume they are good at their jobs.
      
      I don’t need to assume they are good tenants. 100% they are so far, and generally only leave when they are ready to buy their own home or need more room.
      
      So with that experience over a number of years guess who is more likely to be made an offer. And who is more likely not to be made an offer.

  No, generally those that left had higher skill sets than those that arrived. For example in the numbers arriving are 2,000 bus drivers, all of who required up to 7 weeks training. Some of whom have since moved to other jobs (questionable) or just been no good, so the companies are still recruiting abroad.
  
  Some of those arriving do have the high levels of skill/qualifications required, but many don’t, if you look at the numbers of recent immigrants taking non skilled low paying work.

  As I know from growing up in Hokitika, the whole landscape of the West Coast has adapted to tolerate massive amounts of rainfall. If you have walked on a West Coast lawn, you will have noticed that the ground is almost sponge-like, well adapted to absorbing moisture.
  
  Of course, too much rain and rivers will burst their banks etc just like everywhere else, but in the media’s (and I suspect Metservice and NIWA’s) attempts to try and prove we are living in a climate emergency, we see the now recurring theme of weather events being hyped up to demonstrate that the end of the world is nigh.

    Yep . We constantly refer to “disasters” such as that when rivers do .And it is for people’s lives , homes , businesses etc .
    
    What we all need to remember is that a flood is a natural state for a river to be in ,when there’s a lot of rain. The issue is we come along and build banks and bridges along and over the river and come to think that that is a “normal” condition ,which of course it’s not .

  Ie The technology is far supperior in the abilities too interpret accurately.

  What we really need is more Rain radars and Tsunami early warning bouys and more importantly Open Source the Data .etc.etc.

  The reduced maintenance costs and fuel savings are private benefits which accrue only to the owners of EVs. There is no public benefit, so no reason to spend public money on them.
  
  Savings from improved air quality are a public benefit, but could be achieved in other, less costly ways. The same money would buy more emissions reduction if it were spent on buying ETS units and then not using them.

Is sending Minister Tama Potaka and Dan Bidois to the Maori Kings talkfest at Ngaruawahia Luxon’s first really big mistake?

As far as I can see this is nothing more than an Activist driven gathering with Maori elitists Tuku Morgan, Willie Jackson, Maori Party Leaders, Margaret Mutu, Hone Harawira and others setting the agenda and running the cutter.

All I can see is Luxon setting up his two representatives for an ear bashing and ongoing abuse.

It is difficult to see anything worthwhile emanating from this gathering. All members of the Governing coalition should stay miles away from it.

After all Ratana and Waitangi are both only days or a few weeks away. Ratana in particular will be far more civilised and respectful to the Government of the day.

  Governments govern for everyone, not just those who elect them. The fact that this is being hosted by Kingi Tuheitia makes it all the more imperative that ministers attend, since it will be a pan iwi gathering. Yes, they will get an earful, particularly from younger Maori.

    Wayne, as far as I know the ‘Kingi’ represents Tainui and a few other Iwi, and is at the level of a ‘Paramount Chief’. Maori did not historically have King’s, so the movement is nothing more than a bit of cultural appropriation that did not succeed on its originating purpose: to unite all Maori under one sovereign.
    So why should the government attend every time a chief calls meeting?
    
    Moreover, why should government representatives attend when the Ratana Church (cult), which represents about 48,000 people, has its annual get together?
    
    In the past Prime Ministers have not attended Waitangi commemorations at the marae up there, due to the hostility emanating from Maori groups. Speaking rights have sometimes been withdrawn for PM’s.

  No, it’s not a mistake at all. Potaka in particular is well known to Tainui, and whilst he and Bidois will get an earbashing, they will be able to feed back to Luxon a much more accurate summation of what is said than if he relied on an increasingly breathless news media.
  
  Tama Potaka is the guy dealing with Maori issues on a daily basis, so it makes complete sense for him to be there. Dan Bidois chairs the Maori Affairs select committee, and they are the ones who will hear submissions into Seymour’s Treaty Bill. They are the right picks.

  On ZB news this morning King Tuheitia’s chief of staff, Ngira Simmonds is saying it is a gathering for discussion and not for political grandstanding (or words to that effect) and that a statement from King Tuheitia on the outcome of the gathering will be released in due course.
  
  Of course motor mouth Willie (Jackson), the racist TPM party and radical Maori activists being interviewed by TV news (as supposedly being the voice of Maori) are going full-on feral rhetoric … backed by a hostile tv news media (hostile against the Govt).
  
  So in theory it is a gathering for discussion … so suggest if the MSM continue to misrepresent these intentions of King Tuheitia and instead continue to promote divisive radicalism that the Govt sack the Boards of the public broadcasters as signal for the broadcast management to pull their activist journo heads in and then back it up with legislation for the public (tax payer funded) broadcasters to have impartial reporting and balanced left/right views. Stuff continues to reject, and now reject almost hysterically, the people’s choice of a new government with a new direction.

The newspaper chain is in a long tantrum about alleged threats to the Treaty of Waitangi, despite assurance from Luxon thats ACT’s very moderate policy won’t be supported beyond Parliamentary committee stage.

Stuff’s biased promotion of the meeting convened by Waikato Maori will feed rumours that Maori money has somehow sustained the struggling newspaper chain. (It seems to have never left the financial brink since the Australian owner gave it away for $1.)

Even if the “Maori money” rumour were true, and that’s an ultra-long shot, it wouldn’t explain State television bias against the newly elected government. The horses on this wagon have bolted down the left turn in the news road. The old nags have single blinkers – on right eyes only.

Why the enthusiasm about the Maori talkathon? Perhaps there’s a clue in the “letter of owner expectations for TVNZ” from then Broadcasting Minister, Wily-Willie Jackson, in April last year. It includes this:

“The media system plays a key role in protecting and promoting te reo Māori and tikanga Māori. The Crown accepts that it has an obligation to take reasonable steps to actively protect and promote te reo Māori me ngā tikanga Māori, including through broadcast media.”

The State needs to get out of TV and radio broadcasting. It needs little more than a national emergency radio network – linked to cellphone and internet warning systems – and perhaps shortwave propaganda broadcasting to Pacific Islands.

Another Wellington council that cannot seem to manage its costs and thus rates revenue.

Kapiti CC cost blowout – I think what the below is saying is that 2 months ago the council stll thought the estimated cost of that work was $5.9m per the LTP and 2 months later it has tripled. Or more. If $5.9m was in the LTP, has anyone been reviewing costs since then, and letting ratepayers how the estimate tripled in well less than 3 years? And apparently nobody noticed.

Maybe that climate and environment subcommittee was busy with other priorities, that didn’t include watching OPM.

A report to the council’s climate and environment subcommittee in November last year said $5.9 million had been allocated in the Long-Term Plan to build a pavilion and to work alongside sports codes to “develop an operating model to meet recreation outcomes”. But as further information came to light about the site, the estimate had risen to $17.15m – and there were other price hikes too.

TV1’s last night’s 6.00pm news “coverage” of the build-up to the hui was as warped and one-sided as could ever be dreamed at.

From One’s Pasifika frontperson, Faafoi who paddled endlessly leading questions to Maori Affairs “journalist,” Hurihanganui, pursuing her one-eyed viewpoint, coverage degenerated to that of a bent, solely-Maori perspective. Impressionable viewers would have swallowed it as fact.

Coverage plummeted further with the now-standard Tuku Morgan fall-back, whose rabidly inaccurate and unsupportable utterances never differ in the numerous occasions he gets to snarl at the TV camera.
Yes, there were token shots of Luxon – portraying him and his tepid utterances in the weakest possible light. Seymour did attempt to correct the questioner’s stance but, as Minister, his moments in the spotlight never received the attention accorded to the raving Morgan.

TVI’s reporting on “Treaty” matters is bent as could never have been imagined possible prior to Ardern’s blotch on our political landscape. Last night’s attempt to produce newly-discovered tatty “evidence” of an old document wasn’t even remotely contrasted with far more available genuinely-established evidence. It was trouble-stirring, nothing less.

If I was running the country, TVNZ would be informed that further funding would not be be provided ’til it ceased its anti-government rhetoric and, in the expectation of viewers, ceased portraying such wilful, biased, race-fomenting items of coverage.

I’d also advise the elders of Maoridom that what’s now eminently perceivable as having never been justified, the 3rd Treaty settlement, would be overturned – and all “settlement” monies and property would be returned to the Crown – with interest.

  Will give both channels a miss tonight and for the next little while.

      Slavery was a major issue, there was also the protectionism by the Northern manufacturing states which was causing economic harm to the South,, no doubt many other issues as well.
      If it was all about slavery, why didn’t Lincoln outlaw slavery before the war broke out? Or do what the British did and negotiate to compensate slave owners to avoid the conflict.

        President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the nation approached its third year of bloody civil war. The proclamation declared “that all persons held as slaves” within the rebellious states “are, and henceforward shall be free.”
        
        Despite this expansive wording, the Emancipation Proclamation was limited in many ways. It applied only to states that had seceded from the United States, leaving slavery untouched in the loyal border states. (!!!!) It also expressly exempted parts of the Confederacy (the Southern secessionist states) that had already come under Northern control. Most important, the freedom it promised depended upon Union (United States) military victory.

  In regards to Russia invading Europe there’s a lot of things that don’t make sense. Russia has always denied such claims and they have a big country and more resources than needed and have no need to invade anyone, especially Europe. In a war against Europe they will be out manned and out gunned and Russia knows this. Something that seems to have changed in the world is the Wests idea of canceling things they don’t like. Rather than enter into dialouge and attempt to solve problems our leaders seem to be acting like bratty primary aged kids by canceling out people. Try as you like but you cannot cancel a country and Russia is not going to go away so to our leaders, put your big boy pants on and get your ass to the table and sort this shit out. If the Europeans want to talk themselves into a war with nuclear Russia rather than entering into mature diplomacy they might want to surround themselves with a massive amount of security because there are going to be a lot of people upset with their stupid desicions. The downward spiral of our leaders maturity has declined so much over the last 2 generations that I sure as hell wouldn’t fight in a war for them.

    The near-total and unchallenged dominance of the US since the fall of the USSR is finished and never coming back, which is why they are so intent on stoking conflicts in a desperate but doomed attempt to reassert dominance.
    
    If anyone sparks a war in Europe involving Russia, it will not be on account of “Russian aggression,” unless the term ‘Russian aggression’ is taken to mean the rise of Russia relative to the falling US. Ditto China.

      Most of the stirrings have come from military leaders. It could be that they want to shake the politicians and the general populace out of their general sense of “sheel be right” and to change their attitude. The Nordic and Baltic states are taking the Putin threat very seriously to the extent that the Baltics are planning on putting up permanent defensive lines between themselves and Belarus.
      
      As for Nato itself, the “powerhouse” France, has promised much and delivered little. It sounds typical of their commitment to war when push comes to shove.
      
      The elephant in the room is Trump. What will his decisions be should he be elected? It is not unreasonable to see him remove all support for Ukraine. This will require the European members of NATO to step up to the plate. Something some of them have been reticent to do.

    Here is the problem with propaganda, it can score hits in the short term, but unlike the truth it can’t hold together over the long term. The pieces just don’t fit.
    One hand we are told that Putin is riddled with cancer, he’s a desperate dictator, surrounded by traitorous stooges, his people are freezing and starving and his army is a bunch or knuckle dragging orcs armed with rusty old junk and the Ukrainians are knocking them down 10 to 1. We only need a few more months and a few billion dollars more before he will coming begging to the negotiating table.
    On the other hand, Putin is the new Genghis Khan, who will soon sweep over Europe like a storm of darkness, enslaving the freedom loving people into the new Russian Empire.

In an attempt to stir up further division in NZ, TV news tonight will solemnly report on the day’s proceedings as if it has huge relevance to other than a very small percentage of elite Maori.

  I doubt the Westland Mayor is looking or feeling foolish, while the Coast has a great capacity for managing huge amounts of water, she has to take notice of what the experts tell her. And it allows her to pre-position and prepare resources, better during the day than in the middle of the night.
  
  I lived in South Westland through two 50 year floods and one 100 year flood in a two year period in the early 1980’s, the 100 year one was awesome in its power and created major damage that took months to repair, roads were cut north and south of Whataroa and the glacier country for several days. I don’t blame her for erring on the side of caution.

      I agree that their reporting can be inaccurate to some degree either way and I have as many examples of catastrophication as anyone. However they are the ones recognised as experts by the decision makers who turn to them for advice and warnings of extreme weather more so than you or I for some strange reason.
      
      It is then up to others who have the responsibility like the mayor to make decisions based on their forecasting.
      
      You just go ahead and ignore them, that’s fine. However their warnings must be considered by decision makers with the legal responsibility to do so.

So on ZB news, Stuff and NZH mostly toned down rhetoric/reporting of the gathering at the Ngāruawāhia marae.

(Granted NZH quotes a radical activist drop kick or two. No balance of course by quoting those on the right that question “maorifiction” etc).

But generally the reporting is one of discussion (rather than aggression) and even National’s Tama Potaka is well quoted correcting some of the radical mis/dis-information.

So let’s see how wokesters at TVNZ and Newshub cover it this evening – I suspect there will be more coverage on the radicals/aggression and constant denunciations of the coalition govt being portrayed as “white supremacists” or simply “out of touch” i.e. very little balance, and a total disregard ignoring the concerns of middle NZ’ers views (Pakeha and even Maori etc), who happened to vote for a change of govt. Time to sack the TVNZ Board.

The problem with the white/pakeha media when it comes to Maori/Treaty issues … is they appear to be shallow thinkers.

Heard ZB’s political discussion at 4pm (Wilhelmina Shrimpton filling in for the affable and more balanced Tim Beveridge) and her two leftie commentators (talk about zero political balance and an echo chamber).

Between the 3 of them shallow understanding of the concerns people have with modern Treaty interpretations (and the Golriz Ghahraman shoplifting issue) and therefore deriding those people (with concerns) as being, well not very nice people (to put it politely).

Even Ms Shrimpton admitted she needed to better understand the Treaty and read up about it. FFS!

So really those on the Right that have bothered to read historical books and reports of the signing (and debates between the Chiefs knowing they are ceding sovereignty), or looked at Public Service job advertisements that are favoring those that speak Maori even though the job does not require such skills and so on (in other words have reasons to back up their concerns ) … are deemed by the shallow Left media as not being “nice people” aka “racists” or “white supremacists” (even brown Maori and Pasifika that oppose “maorification”!).

Then to compound this shallow leftie media thinking, they admit they don’t actually know much about the Treaty! Even TVNZ/John Campbell (I think) said as much as few weeks ago! So instead it appears that these chardonnay socialists simply repeat radical talking points.

We are not well served by the media.

And the irony will be they, predominantly white/pakeha media, will in the future find out themselves it will be harder to land jobs (especially future newbie generations) as the media organisations further embrace DIE initiatives.

Perhaps they smugly think “nah that won’t happen here cos I embrace Te Tiriti”) … but have they even bothered to read overseas reports from UK and US media which talk about these issues? Of white people not getting jobs? Even in the UK armed forces (cos the quotas aren’t full enough for the DIE lot)?

No of course not because they are shallow thinkers and think they know it all from their echo chambers and virtue signalling.

  Trouble is that the TOW already has been tampered with, 40 years or so ago, rewriten to say something that it never did. Hence the co Governance, and sharing etc.
  
  Read the original plus the literal translation of the of the one in Maori. Pretty much lines up with ACTs principles.

I kept away from Stuffed site today as I didn’t want my weekend polluted by the maori get together. They are providing wall to wall coverage of the rent a crowd event. What % of the vote did they get again?

Plunket was mentioning on the Platform last week that it’s a bit of a contradiction that they’ve taken the English concept of a king and anointed one of their own, when they never had any concept of that in their history.

About to read The Forgotten Wars by Graham Crosby, which Michael Laws recommended. Sounds like an enlightening read.
