New Curia poll from Waiariki

This seat was very close in 2020 with the Te Pāti Māori co-leader Rawiri Waititi winning by only 836 votes. Waititi in this poll is well ahead of Labour’s Toni Boynton. This is a huge swing in the electorate vote away from Labour.

Waititi (Te Pāti Māori)- 50%
Boynton (Labour) – 28%

Re the party vote. In 2020 Labour got 59% of the vote. In this poll they’re on 37%.

Margin of error is 4.4%

You only have to look at the one eyed media to see that the ones that created Jacinda mania are the same Journalists at the front of Prime Minister Chris Hipkins push for power.
Jessica Mutch McKay, Jenna Lynch, Clare Trevett Audrey Young, Tova O’Brien, Andrea Vance with the help of others in the media have and are trying to convince the voter that the only person with the expertise to save our economy and fix the division between Pakeha and Maori is Chris Hipkins.
Whether people like it or not the only way to stop this stupidity is to Party vote National or Act to put our Country back on the route to prosperity.
A vote for Labour and their Partners is a a vote for lies, inunendo, wasteful spending and corruption.

  Correct – And those identified know that if National/ACT do get to form a government, then their cushy number is at significant risk, so are pushing the anti National/ACT to the limit.
  Also, if National/ACT do form the government, and the economic shambles left behind by Labour, its going to be hard for the MSM Labour cheerleaders to criticize National/ACT, as a simple retort will be; ‘why didn’t you challenge Labour when it was happening’.

I went to see River of Freedom last night. I would recommend viewing it. Luxon does not come out looking good. He supported Mallard’s actions and he appeared not to give a fuck about people who died from the vaccine.

      I read a 2020 novel by Scott Turow in which a chap won a Nobel prize for inventing a miraculous cure for cancer.
      Unfortunately he didn’t disclose that a small number of people had died during the trials and he was arrested and put on trial.
      The drug was withdrawn from the market.
      The conundrum was on the one hand the drug was still a miracle cure and had saved many thousands of lives, but on the other it also had the potential to kill a very small number of people.
      If you had a life threatening cancer, would you take the drug?
      Kind of a rhetorical question really.
      In that particular case the odds are easily measurable.
      For every 1000 saved one must die, or whatever.
      With a covid-19 vaccine or any other vaccine it’s not that simple in real life.

        This experimental shit was mandated and/or coerced on the whole population. Even young people at zero risk of covid. Important information about the risks to those young people and to others was deliberately suppressed. Ask Rory Nairn’s family what they think about the jab.
        
        Meanwhile, 11,000 MoH staff were granted exemptions while people at genuine risk from the jabs and even those who suffered severe injury after the first jab were point blank denied exemption.
        And excess deaths continue to happen every week in NZ and nobody in mainstream media or government wants to talk about it.

        Yes it is. The vaccine saved zero people, and excess deaths since the rollout of the vaccine are at 10,000. The NZ death toll “from Covid” is a next to zero, because Covid-19 is a strain of the flu, albeit tweaked in a laboratory.
        
        There are no mortality figures by all causes on figure.nz, for any year past 2019 and our worldindata.org lists no flu stats for 2019, 2020, 2021. If you know how many people died and how many died from car accidents, heart attacks, all the other 50+ causes, and yes, Covid, knowing how many died of the flu is simple subtraction giving a remainder.
        
        Figure.nz used to have stats by year for death by casues, and those specifics have disappeared. Figure.nz used to a private website, but was taken over by the govt.
        
        The Covid-19 update page list deaths “attributed to Covid” which is somewhere between 3000 and 4000.
        
        “Attributed” is not “died of”, or “caused by”. It is a weasel word.
        
        Annual flu deaths over the same time period would normally be between 2000 and 3500 on bad flu years. All respiratory diseases over the same time period would be well north of 11,500 or more on bad flu years.
        
        Without specific traceable stats given by a govt that has a penchant for telling porkies, it has no validity.
        
        On top of that, when the dust settled, the IFR rate has been no worse than that of a flu. And most countries dropped their initial Covid death tolls by 90-95%, including the Covid “poster child” Italy, and the CDC, because “testing positive” for Covid when you died of something else was not a Covid death.
        
        And on top off all that, Pfizer;s own data and contracts, all now in the public domain attest to the fact that it did not, it was just based on hope, and side effects weer known from the outset, including by this govt, who disregarded the advise from their own advisors and initial advise from Medsafe.
        
        Most people know about Dunedin plumber Rory Nairn who died from myocarditis. What most people don’t know is the hundreds of other people that died in a similar manner. Or the thousands of excess deaths since Feb 2021. Or the tens of thousands of vaccine injuries.
        
        Why on earth do you think Hipkins wets his pants at the thought of NZ First being part of the Government? Because Winston and his talented crew, will not stop until an independent inquiry into Covid and the vaccines is held.
        
        Why do you think many of the Labour drongos have either left, or gone list only? So they can “lose” and be evicted and shuffle off out of sight on the hope that they will no longer be accountable.
        
        That this is not being discussed openly and that you are still in a conundrum with your question, shows the extent to which the govt manipulated the media.
        
        All this from a govt that was “the single source of trooth”.

        Actually, the jab makes you more prone to catching covid.

        Actual Clan is wrong the risk to children is not Zero, but it is a number close to zero….
        
        Your grandchildren catching a virus at school happens every day – the number of viruses circulating in the population is huge…
        
        The thing is most viruses are not dangerous to most people most of the time.
        
        When you get old – flu is a big danger… when your young not so much… ditto other viruses like RSV, Rhinovirus, etc etc….
        
        So your statement below, which I have quoted at the start of this post means pretty much nothing.

        COVID 19 is only like the 3rd or 4th Corona virus that has become endemic in human populations. Your body after a long life (assuming this as you have grandies so I assume you are north of 55 though could be younger..) has given you an immune system capable of handling another Corona virus.
        
        The COVID 19 response has been a hysterical over reaction by Western populations that don’t want to face mortality and think they can live forever….
        
        And that hysteria has been used by authoritarians to take away peoples freedoms and condition people even further into the destructive safetism culture that holds sway in our Bureaucracy and big chunks of our population, especially our female population…

    My father died 2 days after taking his booster. Had trouble breathing, went into cardiac arrest, was revived but never regained consciousness or the ability to breathe on his own so the machines were switched off 2 days later. Call it a coincidence if you like but he is the first person in the family to ever die from a heart attack and I will add that in 99.9% of cases of heart attacks are hereditary.

      I know people that collapsed in the vaccine clinics and had to be rushed to hospital. Or died within hours of the booster.

        Jack… I accompanied my wife to get her jab(s) twice. At each venue there were hospital beds in readiness for the (no doubt) expected adverse effects.
        So we waited with the others the 20 mins or so for the issues, the beds weren’t needed for our cluster of jabees.

      Without an autopsy and microscopic examination of relevant tissues stained to differentiate between covid “spike” and vaccine “spike” there can be no determination as to which caused the death. Medical history and physical examination cannot. This has become apparent in a number of observational studies by pathologists brave enough to do the required tests and to publish their results.

        He supported Mallard and what happened to the peaceful protesters. He supported Mallard in not speaking to the protesters which could have stopped the violence.
        
        After Luxon took over I was impressed by him. I had a chance to hear him at a function. I had emailed him about a woman who had a bad reaction to the first jab and did not want to get a second but feared for her job. I approached him at the meeting about this woman. He just said follow the science and walked away. He could not give a fuck about people who had a bad reaction.

        Gravel. The most egregious crimes during the covid response were Aderns hiding of the medsafe report and the purchase and administration of early covid batches after they were known to be unacceptably deadly.
        
        What makes NZs purchase of early batches particularly suspicious (from countries who presumably didn’t want to continue killing their citizens) was the NZ government’s late entry into the pfizer jab queue.

    What you said about O’Connor and Seymour is correct. Luxon was only mentioned briefly so you may have missed it. Luxon did support Mallard in not speaking to the peaceful protesters which could have stopped the violence.

        I was in Wellington at the time at a Superblue conference. I went down and spoke to many of the protesters. They were good decent people and should not have been attacked the way they were on orders of the evil government.
        
        The Leader of the Opposition should have condemned the attack on peaceful protesters, most of whom did not have a criminal record.
        
        They could get hundreds of police for this violent assault but cannot do so when gangs take over a town.

        The court case challenging the police and defense force mandates had come to an end, and no doubt key politicians would have been advised of its outcome before it was released on 25/02/2022, 4 days later.

  I thought the movie showed both National and Act in the house speaking against it. However to me, although I don’t agree with it, I can understand that they would have required all politicians to stick together in an attempt to stop the spread of the disease. Likewise with all the evidence coming out about the harm the vaccine has done, how on earth are pollies from all round the world going to admit to any wrong doing. There would be mass hysteria.   We were all discussing this at the time last year. What would have likely happened is that Mallard, with selective Police HQ info to back him, would have highlighted those probably less than a handful of people that did want to cause harm to politicians (and media) and amplified that.
  
  This would likely explain why the MP’s and why the Parliamentary Press gallery reporters (apart from Soper, in time) didn’t want to venture outside. IIRC Mallard banned the MSM from talking to the protesters (apart from Soper – the rest of the PP gallery reporters were cowards).
  
  But but but surely Mallard wouldn’t do this, right? Yes he would! Just look at his actions by 1) turning on the sprinklers to wet the protesters. 2) playing loud music through the night to unsettle them (Mallard didn’t care about nearby residents losing their sleep). 3) Mallard attempting to prevent protests at Parliament for the first time in NZ’s history. 4) Mallard not preventing the Police to bash and shoot at protesters.
  
  Mallard appears to be some sort of sociopath. Or worse. Forget Luxon and Seymour, they were his pawns. Our attention (and the lame MSM’s attention) should be on holding Mallard (and Labour) to account.
  
  Anyone and anything else is a sideshow or distraction. Even Winnie (he didn’t know what he was getting into at the time but look at him milking it now).
  
  The anti-mandate protesters were heroes in my opinion.

  Unfortunately, behaviour during the covid-1984 plandemic is no way of grading the politicians or parties, since they all acted in exactly the same way. ALL of them, up to and including ACT, fell in line with Jacinda’s team of 120.
  
  (Except for Winston, and I very much hope you’ve learned your lesson about voting for him since 2017?)
  
  ALL of them were OK with the state making new medicines mandatory.
  
  ALL of them were OK with people who didn’t comply losing their livelihoods.
  
  ALL of them were OK with police attacking the protestors with bats, rubber bullets and tear gas.
  
  (I made a collage of screenshots of social media comments made by Luxon, Willis, Bishflaps and one or two others while they watched the protest being violently put down. I post it in their threads any time I see them trying to subtly re-write history.)

Well, this election will be remembered for many reasons. It has been the dirtiest campaign that I remember, although the National Party appears to have conducted itself in a very collegial manner (Although a bit of mongrel might be needed abouit now).

The claims, and actual incidents of violent and unseemly conduct directed at candidates have been rather selectively reported.

and now we have the very unusual spanner in the works of the death of a candidate, with polls indicating the very real possibility of National and ACT getting 60 seats, and needing the result of the By Election to determine if they can form a majority government without having to include NZ First, and the looming By Election will give Luxon levergage that he could not have reasonable expected in any negotiations post Oct 14 and before the By Election.

This has to be the basis of one hell of a constitutional law case study!

    Yep, Minto was anti the South African govt, and he was very pro Soviet Union, and kept holding up Russia as a virtuous example of a free country, while slagging off South Africa.
    
    On one such occasion in the late 70’s Minto was promoting the pro Soviet Union propaganda, and decrying South African apartheid.
    
    If I recall correctly Bert Walker, then a National MP, pointed out that there were more cars in South Africa that were owned or driven by blacks, than there were private motor cars in the whole of the Soviet Union.

Why does Chris Hipkins think Labour is immune from this sort of issue. Labour/NZF took Greens for granted in 2017, and the Greens would have a tougher negotiating stance this time.
Then it is looking as if National will have a bonus MP after the Port Waikato byelection and that could enable Cris Luxon to flip Winston the bird.

1). Has anyone fact checked Baker and Cos assumptions on an additional 20k of deaths – surely that would result in one of the worst death tolls per capita in the world. Did he borrow Hendy’s calculator?
2). I note that Mrs Robinson and the graduate (ala Barry & Wells) last night decided to have a pro-Palestinian piece after the News. This is of particularly bad taste.

    I would think you would need to look at mortality in a comparable population. Does the NZ mortality profile usually match that of the US? I would have guessed we might be more similar to the UK, given both countries have taxpayer funded medical care.
    
    Then, of course, you would need to allow for us being an island, where (eventually) the government realised it needed to close the borders. Sadly, it then seemed to waste the chance to improve health ahead of the inevitable arrival of this virus.

    The “nasty banks” as you call them actually have the choice of whether they want you as a customer or not. Strangely enough beneficiaries were often seen as less than desirable clients and so the “nasty banks” often declined to open accounts for them but govt agencies needed people to have a back a/c into which their benefit could be paid. The solution Kiwibank. I could be way off on this next bit but I believe Jim Anderton & his Alliance party had a huge part in it’s creation which also may explain a lot.

My Son has been advised by his Sydney Head Office that from 1st January all staff “will” come to the office 4 days a week, and they expect to phase out working from home later (except in specific agreed, in advance, circumstances).
Resignations must be in writing.
Obviously in Aus it may have been well rorted – not here of course.

Why the difference?
What are the publishing guidelines media are following?

Adam Michael Rapson’s (18 yrs old) ,the boy racer who killed his friend. His photo, a close up of his face and shame were displayed on the front page of our media for days. The article in the paper started with a description of his crime .

Compared to todays article:
Dray Yozaine Matthew’s (23) saw someone smashing cars. He got in his car, mowed down a person in a vigilante action, crossed the road in his car and sped up to hit him , reversed over him and drove off.

Dray’s photo is not in the paper. The whole article minimises the crime. The headline minimises the crime describing it as a hit and run. And the article begins with excuses and sympathy. “He hung his head low.” “And had no history of violence and no prior criminal record.”. His lawyer said he had “suffered as he lost his job as a merchandiser. ” Lawyer asked the judge to consider 2 cultural reports. Article says “This is a very sad case as we have such spontaneous and out-of-character offending”

Is the cultural reports the reason Drays deliberate crime does not receive justice of showing his true identity in the paper. Does the cultural report show he is part of a gang family.

Why do media get to decide such a key part of open justice.

And lastly the crime mowing someone down happened on Christmas 2020?!!! Why is it only in court now. Where has the criminal been while he waited for this to be heard?

  Not sure why the sword person got HD for a nearly fatal injury, and this guy gets over 4 years in jail & losses his career.
  The youth with the iron bar was committing actual crimes and looking for serious trouble even more than a grumpy dog walker.
  
  And maybe that is part of it?
  Vigilante action are where we can really expect the Police and justice system to smash someone with the full weight of the law. While the police don’t always seem to be able to do what we consider their job, they surely will defend their patch around ‘taking the law into your own hands’.

  I went to school with Tom and worked with him through school/uni holidays in late 70s/early 80s.
  
  Missed out on Med School first time but wanted it so much he took the long route.
  
  We fought like cats and dogs but he was fundamentally a good person with character.
  
  Ran into him in the late 80s and he was very content with his choices. Followed him from then on and clearly he lived a good life where helping others was paramount.
  
  Sobering to hear he has died. Another one taken far too young.

  That seems completely nuts in a country as threatened as Israel is by homicidal jihadists from all sides. Especially in areas bordering Gaza and West Bank where incursions are a real threat.

I think National will win this election but they aren’t making it look easy! Wtf were they thinking taking out a full page advert about NZ First? They talked the left up as a coalition of chaos (rightly so) but are now trying everything they can (along with ACT) to convey the right as the same. I hate NZ First but like it or not they will likely have to deal with them and their strategy is just making it more likely. Do they think they will win more voters this way? People want stability, this will make voters nervous and the media are obviously not interested in scrutinising the left the same way so there’s a strong possibility all they’re doing is driving people back to Labour. I don’t have a problem with them saying they will work with them but it’s not the first preference (although they probably should have ruled them out 3 months ago) but they have gone way too far, absolutely poor strategy and I can’t understand what they think they’ll achieve by this approach.

I wonder if the Greens and Maori parties have thought through their Wealth tax proposal. David Parker’s wealth tax ‘study’ was based on ‘unrealised capital values’. That means ‘an educated guess’.
What this really means is that every year, everyone will have to list all their assets with there current values, so the wealth tax can be calculated.
So a huge tax bureaucracy, a new valuation industry and a much enlarged Human Rights department to handle the objections against the IRD checking that you have listed all your assets.

  Houses etc will just use ratings valuations.
  Businesses will use industry specific profit multipliers + asset values. Profit multipliers is the best way because the value of a business is simply its future profits (which are taxable anyway).

  The vote that really counts is the ‘party vote’ – this determines which major party governs.You can vote Labour (or Green if you like – not much in it) or you can vote National (or ACT). If you want to let Winston choose the Government and rule the roost you can vote NZ First.
  As for the ‘electorate’ vote you can vote for whoever you (and the girls at tennis) fancy. In most cases it does not make any difference as to whom governs (unless ‘overhang’ comes into play – but this is unlikely).

        I didn’t vote for MMP, and urged others not to. But here we are.
        
        Winston may have chosen Labour, but only they reached a dead end with English, and it was an NZF caucus decision, not Winston’s choice by himself.
        
        But Winston was not responsible for what Ardern and Co did, in fact he blocked most of what Labour tried to do. You may have heard Hipkins using that fact recently in try to publicly trash a National/ACT/NZF calling it a coalition of Chaos.
        
        Winston is less than perfect, and I have never voted for him, so I’m not defending him or NZF for going with Labour, but Hipkins is right, Winston and NZF were stoppers. They put the brakes on every chance they could to stop Ardern and Co’s tyranny.
        
        If you want to blame something, blame MMP. Winston will be just fine in this election, being a fox in the hen house to refocus Luxon and Seymour on the Covid and vaccine tyranny that was a lynch pin in order to put NZ in a Covid declared state of emergency and fast track the takeover of NZ.
        
        In case you have forgotten, NZ is still in a Covid declared state of emergency, until November 2024. If we have another scamdemic in 2024 as Gates and Co are promising, Luxon, and probably Seymour will do exactly as Arden did. Luxon has already announced his intention to get vaccinations up to 95%. This is all vaccinations, and dollars to donuts he won’t be exempting the mRNA from that 95% target.

        Might be an explanation, and I think it was a mix of (A) shiniest offer and (B) grievance in any case: not mutually exclusive.
        
        The going with Labour does not reflect well on Winston/NZ First in any case.
        Nor those NZ First voters who have short memories. I voted for him on 2017. Never again.
        
        I surely hope Winston can put aside such flaws in his character if he does get into the same position again.
        If he can’t work calmly and productively with NACT then we are looking at one-term before Labour/Greens/Te Pati Maori is in the driving seat. Gag!
        
        Can NZ First work with ACT to roll back co-governance and the worse Treaty-principle narratives? Common ground there.
        Or will it be like the scorpion on the back of the frog parable that I mentioned not long ago, and we feel the stinger.

        My interpretation of MMP is that parties are included in Parliament if sufficient voters choose them, and then it is up to the various parties, large and small, to coalesce into a Government if they can settle their differences.

        It will be Luxon and Seymour. Both are driven by fear, have big egos, and lack empathy, regardless of how it looks. Anyone, and in this case these two, who gaslight the public and tell vaccine injured and families of vaccine dead and 10,000 excess deaths, that is all in their head, they are ethically and empathy challenged.

        Just because something is not written in the letter of the law, does not mean it is not in the spirit of the law. A sign of intelligence is figuring out the spirit of the law, not only the letter of the law.
        
        There should be no ‘kingmaker’ however if there was to be one in the screwed up Marxist MMP, it should be the most popular party, not the least popular party.
        
        It is only egos that prevent all 120 MPs from putting aside their differences and doing the right thing by the voters, as you rightly point out.
        
        The problem is that MMP has further entrenched party politics.
        
        I would prefer to lock all 120 in small room, and lock the door, feed pizza and water through a slot and tell them they don’t get out until they drop the party shit, work together as individuals, and leave their egos in the basket by the door when they enter parliament.
        
        And to drop the party shit, we need to dump MMP, go back to electoral representation and NO political parties.
        
        All prospective MPs should be IQ tested, drug tested, and go through an HR system to prove they can do more than just pour milk on their cornflakes, or smoke weed and recite Karl Marx.

    I have also abstained or voted informally, though not this time. For me, I need a party to reach some sort of minimum threshold to get my vote. I don’t believe in voting for the least of evils. I think doing so allows National to move further and further left in search of Labour voters, secure in the knowledge than their welded on support will accept centre left provided they get it delivered in a blue wrapper.

Will follow with interest the Ilam electorate on election night. Manji from TOP is going the student/social media route I heard on newstalk zb news this morning. Which is what got Whanau in in Wellington in the last local body election. (had never heard of Whanau until friends with millenial daughters said pre the local body elections, they were all voting Whanau due to the huge social media campaign).

As I found out the other day TOP is not popular on this site 😂. But for millenials struggling to make ends meet and wanting to buy a first home the TOP policies resonate with them. Of course no one on this site is worried about buying a first home or for that matter making ends meet.

Anyway I could be wrong. National might come through really strong in Ilam. At any rate would be good to have more than one party in the dutch auction…

  It is a bit like NZ. It all depends how far back you look as to who owns the land. And the more humble the “owners”, the more likely that they will tell you that no-one owns the land, and that they are merely caretakers or custodians of the land for everyone to share and use.
  
  The Palestine / Israel conflict at its core has nothing to do with land. It is to do with the business of war.
  
  If you are the manufacturer of weapons, and you are supplying both sides or supplying one side and mates with those that supply the other side, it is a lucrative business.
  
  Even better if you can funnel $US into Ukraine for weapons that then find their way to the middle east.
  
  Even better still, if in tying up the area in war, it allows someone else free reign to look for oil deposits.

Just back from tennis practice.

I raised the MMP question again with some of the girls over lunch. None of them seemed any the wiser, eventhough they all said they’d be voting on Staturday.

Then my doubles partner muddied the waters even further!
Prue wanted to know….. what would happen (God forbid) if Winnie passed this week. Would that mean another seat for National?
As she said, he’s already ruled-out working with Labor or the Greens.

Honestly, it’s no wonder we’re all so confused 🙁

Surely there is a poll tonight from one or the other major TV Stations as it seems it’s all about them and there choice of Political Party they want running New Zealand.
It makes me laugh when I hear Journalists or Reporters distributing there views and hatred for our politicians, because we can’t call them names like they have done with Chris Luxon, so let’s hope if we get a change of Government that they have learnt that it is not about them it is what the Country wants.

Last night saw The Disinformation Project’s chief conspiracy theorist Kate Hannah on One News claiming that anti-Maori sentiment and racism is on the rise. She dragged Stop Co-Governance into it, and went on to claim that it’s Maori women who are being targeted. Because apparently no other politicians in the entire country are ever subjected to abuse or name-calling. //sarc
  
  She also made the rather bizarre insinuation that the people behind all this supposed “racism” are the same people who were “talking about vaccines two years ago”. The inference being quite obviously that “anti-vaxxers” are now turning their attention to abusing female Maori politicians.
  
  Every time I hear the MSM talking about conspiracy theorists, I can’t help but muse that the majority of actual conspiracy theorists appear to be well-entrenched in the media and organisations like Kate Hannah’s little hobby-horse. And they get paid for it!
