  Ever wondered why Governments have been encouraging citizens to use plastic rather than cash over the past 40 years. Well it wasnt for your benefit. Look to the UK and Nigel Farage and others for the real reason. I say if the Toxic Trio Labour/Greens/Maori get elected in October the same will ocurr here. In addition we will have a Chinese style Social Credit system. Of course Maori, Gangs and the Elites will be exempt. WhiteMotherF…..s will be hit hard especially those who post on KB. They will become Non-Persons denied access to ALL Government services, their bank accounts and other investments and banned from driving. As a result they will be unable to pay for rates insurance on their home. The Government will then seize their home toss them out and give the home to a “deserving” family of the Government choice.

    ASB Waterfront Theatre has signs up at the entrance to the public toilets announcing that people can the toilet of whatever gender they identify with.
    
    Why can’t they understand that once you do that, any male entering that space can claim to be (or is assumed to be) transgender, when they may in fact be a male who wants to harass or assault females?

Public transport needs better on-board ventilation, a leading epidemiologist says, after new research has found buses and trains are a significant disease-spreading risk.
The paper, released by the Public Health Communication Centre (PHCC), measured carbon dioxide levels on 30 bus trips and 15 train journeys across three cities from April to June this year, each with more than half of the seats occupied.
It discovered ventilation became increasingly poor as seats filled up and when people stood in bus aisles, and carbon dioxide levels were eight times higher in a crowded bus than the outdoor air.
Buses were poorly ventilated 94% of the time and 77% for trains, meaning passengers were breathing a lot of exhaled air from others, leading to a higher risk of passing on airborne diseases like Covid-19.

        Well ‘officials’ are wrong based on research I have personally reviewed (this is an area of professional competence). No way in hell I would fly on a plane with pilots at 10000ppm, and FAA requires fresh airflow levels in planes that holds it at about 2000ppm.

      That’s untrue. A raft of overseas tests show very high CO2 levels.
      
      You need to get a CO2 meter and check the CO2 in your own car on a trip.
      
      With four people in the car, it takes just a few minutes to reach levels approaching 5000.

    45x? No, more like 200 times.
    
    If you hold your breath as long as you can, your body forces you to breath when it has too much CO2, though most people think it is because you have run out of oxygen.
    
    At the level most people start feeling it, there is about 1% CO2 (around 250x the atmospheric level). Most people can hold out to 2% (500x the atmospheric level). People with extensive training can maybe hit twice that.
    
    When there is 1-2% CO2 there’s still heaps of oxygen available because oxygen is around 20% of the air you breath.

        I read somewhere that while oxygen is still 14-15% of the air, releasing the CO2 to absorb fresh O2 is blocked because of the relative CO2 concentrations.

      Even 10% Co2 will only lower the normal 21% O2 by 1/10th to about 19%. Certainly life is viable at this level.
      
      The body makes compensatory changes to raised CO2 level by increasing respiration. One cannot compare O2 and CO2 physics in the lungs because of the massive differences in solubility in water/plasma.

  The NBA will do fine because it has a great product with no substitute, unlike Bud Light. Of course it was more popular when Jordan was playing. That requires no political explanation. The popularity started to drop when Jordan retired, before it went woke. Also, the NFL had the Kaepernick situation and forcing the Redskins to change their name and is still as well as ever. So I think there’s a little too much cherry picking in that article.

So the climate scam seems to continue unabated with last weeks reports of “the hottest day on earth ever recorded” (complete BS of course).
With the transition to “green energy” on the rocks, and fossil fuel production being knee capped by new taxes and lack of CapEx investment, the outcome in 5-10 yrs time is economic collapse due to lack of energy.
The requirement of 330+ additional mines for copper and rare earths etc to make the green transition come to fruition makes a complete mockery of the Greens agenda. Even a 10 yr old could do the maths! It’s not going to happen, ever!
But the real problem is the decrease in oil production with the ongoing decline in oil rig counts globally as the ideologs shut off investment. This is going to be a complete shambles and we’re sleep walking straight into a nightmare.

    Yes. You really do have to wonder about their logic. Hottest year for 125,000 years apparently. Doesn’t that mean that for 124,999 years, records were COLDER? One year out of 124,999 does not make a trend. If anything, it shows it is an unusually warm year, and that temperatures on average are colder than they were 125,000 years ago.

      During the last interglacial around 120,000 years ago it was warmer than today, There were hippopotamuses (or hippopotami if you like, for the anal pedants) wallowing in the Thames River at that time. Did the world melt down due to all the alleged “tipping points” that are supposed to happen when the world is a few degrees warmer? Nope.

    Germany and the UK are already hitting the renewables wall. Smarter countries have read the writing on the wall and are either ramping up nuclear or making sure they have sufficient baseload gas, hydro and or coal.
    
    Net zero 2030 or 2050 with current “renewables” technology is certain economic suicide. That’s not just a cute abstract concept. It means literal impoverishment and suffering for the masses.

    I’ve experienced 47C in Melbourne. Everything gets dehydrated and baked. Horrendous bush fires happened that day. Note: in the last 5 or so years those kind of extreme temps (IE above 40C) have become a lot more rare in the Melbourne summer. It’s all natural cycles anyway (and poor forest management).

    If the climate was warming, we’d see the opposite. “Hottest year since last year”. If only one year out of 45 is hotter, and 44/45 are colder…doesn’t that tell you that on average, temperatures are falling? Confused!

      Intubation, tube into the lungs. I had it under general anesthetic, for my breathing. I was given suxamethonium to relax muscles. That’s when the trouble started – anaphylaxis. It could have killed me.
      
      Doctors following orders, patients dying, and it keeps the death numbers up for fear porn.

        The 2 aren’t related. If you needed intubation for your surgery – that is one thing. The anaesthetist was surely doing what was needed and not following orders. Anaphylaxis can happen with almost any drug and that is a different thing.

      Matt – there is so much about his comment that is worrying. I hope you noted he has a PhD (hence Dr like Dr Michael Cullen and Dr Ardern) and a MSc, and he is a medical student. I think I would rather have the opinion of somebody who has either Intensive care or anaesthesia training to comment. My understanding is yes early intubation is problematic as any intubation can lead on to secondary bacterial infection, but Fauci’s recommendation of not giving antibiotics is criminal. Most of those who died while being ventilated died because of bacterial pneumonias.

        I’m not quite sure whether you are talking about intubation or ventilation.
        
        No competent Dr should be intubating a patient without cause such as airway protection, or mechanical ventilation. The Fauci guidelines were patently quite ridiculous.

  Kevin Bass is not a medical doctor. He is ‘Dr’ because he has a PhD.
  How would intubation kills patients? It is a life saving procedure often done in emergency situations. If the patient dies it would be for other reasons. It is generally carried out by anesthetists who would monitor the patient for any issues. In extreme cases a premature baby who is not breathing may need to be intubated to save its life.

      That is right. When that is the only way to get oxygen into the patient’s lungs. In more extreme cases it may be necessary to do a tracheotomy to insert the tube if it cannot be inserted through the nose or mouth. Doctors are not going to do the procedure for a joke – they have too many other things to do.

    He told me to avoid ventilators. He was one that would sort of hold his breath either in or out. He was resting. He said the ventilators are constant, no rest, just wear you down.

Walking through Masterton recently, one becomes aware of how much we have deteriorated as a community. There is a security guard standing permanently outside of Michael Hill jeweller. This in Masterton, a town of maybe 25,000 people, and the police cannot even keep our shops safe!? Down a block there is a new clothing retailer called Back Door. This new clothing retailer features two big bollards outside of its front door to stop ram raiders!

On Saturday morning I attended a church breakfast where they feed everyone in the community that wants to come. There were about half a dozen homeless people having breakfast. I asked them where do they sleep? They replied, “in our cars”. So we have people in 2023 with no home who are living in their cars? I said to one of them, “why don’t you live in one of those motels? “The woman replied, “everyone in the motel is on drugs and I’m not on drugs.”

Drugs, crime, homelessness. This is where we are at today. The government of kindness is far from kind. We need a new government with a completely new approach. What the current government is doing is just not working. Things are getting worse not better.

  In every situation where the so called “progressives” have been in charge, the social chaos that results is so evident, and yet the full damage that is being caused is hidden by a compliant and complicit media.
  
  In the US, the worst of it seems to be contained in certain cities such as Chigaco (although the Climate does mitigate the homelessness issue) and San Francisco.
  
  Canada, especially cities like Vancouver have some real social issues arising from the real damage Trudeau has done.

    ACT is stating the moral position that it’s wrong. National are saying each sport must make its own rules. I don’t see a conflict.
    
    I doubt ACT has a policy to make it illegal for a sport to have men competing against women.
    
    Where the state can get involved is sports events that receive public money. This includes school sports and any funded through grants, which is quite a few. If media funding can come with Treaty strings attached then sports funding can require separation of biological sex in competition. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

    It’s just the impression given by media and the small minority of radical activists who seem to have captured the media and commentariat.
    
    I suspect though in a NZ context that the Nats took their eye off the ball and went all global warming on you ( and us) and to some extent they have realised that was a mistake and so are making farmer friendly noises .
    
    I don’t trust them on that , Luxon has made it very clear he’s a warmist alarmist and so an awful lot of farm vote may ( should ) go to Act .
    
    I hope so.
    
    Back to point.
    Don’t despair , a lot of us townies appreciate the food on our plates and the fibre that cloth us .

But only if over 16 and if under 16 “men/boys” can choose to compete against girls

In a YMCA event 16 year old “boys” were allowed to change in the girls change rooms with the female swimmers

Berl. Aug 2019.

Only 22% of Maori in Maori medium schooling do not achieve NCEA Level 1, compared with 30% of Maori in English medium schooling.
The inverse is true for students that participated in Maori medium schools, and completed NCEA Level 1 in an English medium high school; 37% of this group did not achieve NCEA Level 1, though the rates of Merit and Excellence endorsements are comparable to the overall Maori average.

This is, of course, based on statistical data without any supporting information that might highlight other reasons for the differences.
However, considering the above information allows thoughts as to reasons for the results.

I commented the other day to the effect that who would travel to NZ to watch the upcoming Women’s World Cup when it’s third rate football. On reflection, that was a bit harsh. While I still believe that the football will be of lesser quality, it’s the pinnacle of the Women’s game & good on them for getting out there & playing.

As someone who spent around 50 years in journalism (newspapers, radio & TV among other media), I really have to wonder whether today’s crop have a brain between them. In today’s edition of Stuff (yeah, I know, a glutton for punishment), there’s an article in the travel section extolling the virtues of a tiny cafe on the tiny Cook Islands paradise of Aitutaki, way out in the middle of nowhere, which takes a minimum of two plane rides to reach. The article lists several airlines that you can use for the journey. Then, at the foot of the article, comes the now-traditional boilerplate paragraph (I kid you not):
“Flying generates carbon emissions. To reduce your impact, consider other ways of travelling……..”
Can someone please donate these geniuses (geneii?) a brain cell.

Engagement VP at Vic Uni Students Association
President of Vic Uni Students Assoc
Wellington City Councillor.

The National Candidate has 20 Listed Positions including:

– Associate at Chen Palmer
– Legal Adviser at the UN
– Legal Adviser at MFAT
– Vice Chair of the (6th) Legal Committee at the UN
– Member of the Advisory Council for SRI LANKA CAMPAIGN FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE LTD

  Couple of Bright Young Things in brand new tees knocked on my door recently. They were dead keen to let me know about the Labour Welly Central candidate. I told them I knew nothing about him. One knew very little, the other told a bit about the candidate’s experience with supporting refugees and being a cleaner at the university. At least that was a real job, though might not have added much to the experience list. Nothing about achievements as an MP.

      I remember walking along K Rd in the late 90s, a naive young bloke who really didn’t know about such things. Saw a mini-skirted figure in the distance with a low-cut blouse … as I got closer I saw the hair spilling out of the low-cut blouse.

Things you need to reset and take the dog for a good walk.

1. A dog.
2. A 4wd your not so precious about.
3. Hearty Lunch.
4. South Island bush block.
5. Gold pan.
6. Sniffer bottle.
7. A typical sunny winters day.

Walked 8km, got some photos of some birds, almost stalked a Tahr and found 3 grams of gold today.
Best part was the homegrown roast Lamb in a ciabatta roll.

What a Country and raring to go for the week.

First things first..

New Zealand’s groundbreaking free trade deal with the European Union (EU) is being hailed as a “big deal” and one that could decrease the cost of living crisis.

The deal, which was signed in Belgium overnight, is expected to increase exports by $1.8 billion annually.

  Your comment is factually correct but assumes that NZ and the EU would spend years negotiating an FTA that is unlikely to be ratified.
  Given that our farmers are moaning that the FTA doesn’t give them all the meat and dairy access they want, one might assume that the EU has held the line for some of its member countries.

Over the weekend, the telco’s reply to a post from trans activist Shaneel Lal on the new social media platform Threads ruffled the feathers of some of its customers.

Since it is wrong to raid homes of people who are illegally in the country when they are home. Is it also wrong for the police to raid homes for other crimes early in the morning too?

A report into recent ‘Dawn Raid’ tactics on migrant overstayers has slammed the Government’s historic apology to the Pasifika community for past abuses as hollow.

It says to truly end the practice of raiding homes ‘after hours,’ the law needs to change. But the Immigration Minister says that’s not possible before the election.

Bus driver should be supported for her actions, not sacked, pathetic

A school bus driver who waved down two nearby police officers to warn loud, unruly children to behave was sacked via a letter in her mailbox she opened on Christmas Eve.

Eighteen months later, driver Beth Wolak has succeeded in her claim that her employer had no good reason to dismiss her, receiving more than $20,000 following an order for lost wages and compensation.
