Whenever there’s a change in government, there’s a moment that captures the public mood; something that makes the swing voter go – hmm. It’s not always major – think Helen Clark & the shower head.

Will Meng Foon be that moment for the Ardern/ Hipkins government? Meng came with good credentials, ticking the Chinese/ Maori/ Pakeha worlds, and was presented as a solid man of the provinces. I think there will be a lot of Lefties who will be quietly disappointed with Meng.

  More to the point, I don’t accept as axiomatic that the designation “far right” is to be denied or denounced anyway. Why not be “far right”? Aren’t we a free society? Rather than adopt the moral framework of someone else, just reject it and lean into the things that they apparently hate the most.

They always use straw man examples of non-existent events or twisted media headlines.   I have a sibling who worked at the executive level at TVNZ briefly, a colleague of theirs would brag about their ‘knowing’ of Jack Tame. She was laughing when telling me about it but I laughed longer upon learning this. My imploring of them to get Shortland Street cancelled was politely rebuffed but I tried!
  
  Anyone down voting KK or CM are upset they weren’t discerning enough to work out was really going on regarding covid. Keep up the great work guys. I don’t use twitter often but Malcolm Roberts liked a reply of mine recently asking him to call out the disgraceful silence in NZ from politicians, media and the medical industry.

When media (politicians) during the Pandemic said Maori cannot be reached with information or conviction regarding covid, I had wondered –
If they have all the data and methods to set up a Maori Health Authority, as they were at the time, surely in that reasoning they had the principles and solutions to reaching and fulfilling Maori health needs. But since then $100 million has been established as funding to research the centuries old history of Maori for medical practices and methods, suggesting the means of Maori wellbeing is not so much at their fingertips or purpose as one would think.

Hey there how’s that ‘it’s really serious this time’ set of allegations against Trump for ‘Espionage’ going?

I mean ‘really serious’. Not a timed hit to distract the media from Biden’s Bribes from the Ukraine.

Making much of Trump’s legal access to the documents coupled with the FBI turning a blind eye to Hilary Clinton’s destruction of classified documents when subpoenaed to produced them, and Biden’s receipt of 40 mill from Russia, 15 from the Ukraine, to produce foreign policy favourable to those countries, nah that isn’t ‘really serious’. Nor is Biden illegally holding classified documents even before he became President.
But what is ‘really serious’ is Trump having possession of documents he had every legal right to hold.

The current President of the USA weaponising security forces to try to jail Trump rather than have Trump run against him in an open election, that’s not ‘really serious’.

No, what it ‘really serious’ is that Trump has done nothing illegal, yet CLinton and Biden have, but they are ‘nice Democrats’ so they get to abuse all the power they like.

  There are certain “ markers” of technological advancements such as pottery, the sewing needle, the ability to boil water and of course the wheel. Māori due in some part to their geographic isolation had none of these and had no exchange of ideas with other peoples so literally only had what they had when they left for New Zealand and what they came up with during the 8 to 900 years ( I’m not sure exactly how long ) that they have resided here. So the idiot man child that continually fouls the atmosphere with his toxic racism is decrying the arrival of a technological revolution that lifted the people he purports to champion out of the crushing grind of Neolithic life with its horrific life expectancy and child mortality statistics and catapulted them forward in time by 40,000 years. Man child, true to form for the left, focuses entirely on the negative impacts of that revolution and whilst standing in his culturally appropriated outfit shrieks hate and resentment about how everything needs torn down and how the ethnic group he identifies with should be elevated above all others. I think that the Māori at the point of first contact may have not been as negative about the newcomers however. Apparently on Cooks second visit he anchored off the coast of Palliser Bay and was very quickly approached by multiple canoes whose occupants with out stretched hands cried out for iron nails so enormously had they changed their lives. One simple piece of technology that the sailors on board would have completely taken for granted. I don’t think they would rather have not been contacted.

Well here’s a twist on bi-lingual road signs – road signs in Maori ONLY.

I was driving into Auckland yesterday, and saw a sign that had the speed limit – 30 – and the words “Pokapu Taone“. And that was it. No English translation at all. Just “30 – Pokapu Taone“.

When I got home, Google told me it meant “Town Centre”. Okay, so nothing that was of particular importance in one regard, but the reasoning (if indeed there is any) behind this quite honestly baffles me. Why would you put up a road sign that is only in Maori? With no English translation? If the Auckland City Council is trying to teach people the Maori equivalent of commonly used phrases, how does this achieve that? Would it have cost that much more to expand the sign so it was able to have the English translation?

I cannot, for the life of me, fathom the thinking or the reasoning of the people who decided it would be a good idea to erect a road sign that presents information only in Maori. How many people would honestly have any idea what this means? It is utterly nonsensical.

But where I am I know that if I ride a purpose built farm quad bike round on my private property farm without wearing an approved helmet, I would be ticketed promptly if seen.
If I had an accident whilst not wearing an approved safety helmet, done up in the correct manner, I would be unlikely to receive money from ACC.
Same with riding horses for work.
And you can’t ride in a horse show or event without an approved safety helmet. They just kick you out.
But gangs can do what they like and won’t be required to wear approved safety equipment.
It is this type of thing that annoys people.
More regulations that don’t apply to all.

On Friday evening I attended a talk by Dr Tom Sheahan at the Jet Park Hamiton. The meeting was attended mainly by farmers, some of whom were in Groundswell. There were also some National Party members there who I recognised.

Tom is a non alarmist climate change expert. His view is different than the Labour picked alarmists on the Climate Change Commission.

National for a very long time has been what is known as the farmer’s party. Since your leadership, Act is now the farmer’s party.

Many of those at the meeting were appalled at your bullying treatment of Maureen Pugh.

I have a few questions for you.

Are you willing to look at people with a different view than you have on climate change?

Dr Sheahan explains there are a few issues with CO2 and CH4. Firstly, will they warm the planet? Secondly, if yes what is the upside as well as the downside? Many more people die of cold than heat so a warmer planet will mean fewer deaths from extreme extreme weather.

I know I shouldn’t be surprised any longer, but Jesus wept, I just can’t believe how f*cking stupid people are. We were sitting in a restaurant, which is out in the country, no other businesses in sight, in a large building, and it’s at least 3/4’s empty. A small group come in with two women wearing (cloth) masks. They sit down and remove said masks. Five minutes later, they get up – maskless – to walk to the counter to place/pay for their orders. They remain at the table maskless. Not sure if they masked up to leave because we left before them. Honestly, I just don’t understand the stupidity. Humanity is doomed 🤯

OK, never mind all that.
I am supposed to be looking for a solution to a drone problem.
Any drone people out there? There must be.
I have a DJI Mavic Pro from about 2016. All was working fine even just this year like April. Now the controller says ‘no SD Card’ So I do all the normal things, save the contents to my PC and then format it. Done it with 3 of my six 64mg cards.
Shit! I have taken this drone to Alaska via Hawaii and all worked fine. DJI Mavic Pro forum have given ideas. Note this is not a fuckwit forum, any nonsense and you are gone.
So, format the SD Card in the drone? Sorry, no SD Card detected.
I am at the verge of doing a ‘factory reset’ I know how to do that, but I don’t know what happens after – like software/firmware uploads, and even pairing the drone to the remote.
Ok rant over. There must be someone on Kiwiblog who has a drone.

  I noticed that if I put the SD card from my Android phone or Android tablet into my Windows PC, then the Windows PC says it is not formatted and asks if I want to format it.
