Some elected representatives are at last waking up to the WHO’s relentless campaign to annex national sovereignty.

To wit: UK Government Ministers “Alarmed” that the WHO Could Gain Powers to Impose Lockdown on U.K., to demand that 5% of Vote Health is spent ‘preparing for the next pandemic’ (which the WHO can arbitrarily declare), and to allow the WHO to mandate of mask, distancing and vaccines.

Dr Diana Sarfati, our Director General of health is currently in Geneva at the 76th World Health Congress, and based on past performance will be acquiescing to the WHO’s plans.

Labour has lazily endorsed this on behalf of New Zealanders, people who gave them no mandate to do so, and our option to withdraw before these treaty condition become binding expires in November 2023.

The only way we escape the WHO’s nefarious plan is to have an incoming government withdraw IMMEDIATELY on taking office, yet I’ve heard nothing from Luxon or Reti on the matter leading me to believe they have no idea what is going on.

  Noting the incredible percentage of private funding (and therefore influence e.g. B&MGF and big pharmaceutical industry) received by the WHO, every world citizen should be alarmed by such potential global power; especially those who have financial risks tied to private sector businesses (notably tourism and hospitality).
  
  The international credibility of the WHO should be in tatters following its appalling performance over the past three years, with various proven scandals (Wuhan Institute sham investigations) and scientific oscillations concerning even medical basics (e.g. face mask efficacy and vaccine safety). Sadly kk, only those paying attention will understand what I’m referring to. Mankind seems to be sleep walking into a Brave New World.

  It is never binding, any NZ govt can tell the WHO where to stick it at any time. But that aside we should still never sign up in the first place, and cut all funding and ties to the corrupt WHO.

    As long as enough citizens are prepared to refuse to comply with any such mandates, the whole thing will collapse rapidly. But it needs numbers.
    You cannot comply your way out of tyranny, ever.
    But in saying that, it might restore a little bit of trust in our system of government if National were to undertaker to immediately remove us from this sham. I’m fact, that could be enough to guarantee 2 votes from me.

      The reason they had to back off with Covid (remember Covid?) was the higher-than-anticipated levels of resistance. They had to quietly drop it, even though nothing in terms of the virus had changed – its still out there infecting people, but it just isn’t talked about. That is all that changed, which should give people pause to consider how fake and concocted Covidmania actually was.
      
      The Parliament protest and the surrounding sentiments are what ended vax passports, as did similar acts of defiance around the world. The masses saying “no” works, even if it is harder and more inconvenient than meek compliance through cowardice.
      
      They will roll out another “killer” virus again when people have forgotten about 2020-22, so we all have to start deciding now what we are going to do then. I am going to say an emphatic “NO”, just like I did the last time. But with full hindsight, this should be the option any thinking person should also adopt.

        Che – I hear you, but I believe it was securit actually quite small but very vocal numbers that made the noise. Certainly in my community we were a small minority. To the point when I was leaving to go to the protest, a further good friend said quite seriously to me, “don’t bring anything back”.
        
        I despise what the people in Parliament did to this country, and it wasn’t just Labour.

  Luxon will be well aware of the WHO treaty, and if he isn’t, then he is completely incompetent. He just doesn’t want to talk about it, because to talk about it is to reveal it to a wider public.
  
  Make no mistake: a National/ACT government will mask you up, lock you down, and vax you up on the say-so of the WHO, just as readily as a Labour government did. To think otherwise is to be willfully clueless and ignorant of the nature of how global governance affects countries like New Zealand who have no real power to say “no.”
  
  The only group who can say “no” is the citizens of countries who have experienced it all once before, and now should know that it was all about taking away autonomy and imposing/mandating arbitrary behaviour that had nothing to do with virology or medicine or science.

      Exactly. To control the opposition, become the opposition. As long as people think that voting within the current paradigm has any real effect, they’ll keep doing it and think that they have popular sovereignty. That is the intention, but the reality is that, to give an analogy, whether you support the Highlanders or the Hurricanes, it doesn’t really matter: they both work for the NZRU.     Now we see the results of Luxon’s intelligence, leadership, and strategic methodology reflected in the polls (including a rise in his personal rating); Labour activists and deluded ACT supporters open new lines of attack.
    
    Luxon will lead the National Party to a landslide victory.
    
    Luxon has:
    – devised a strategy to win the election and fix NZ,
    – cleverly tiptoed through the despicable NZ media minefield by focusing on a few Labour shortfalls most people understand and agree with, limiting the media’s opportunity to attack him,
    – ignored the barbs being fired by his political opponents, the despicable NZ media, the deluded ACT supporters and continued with a strategy he believes will deliver a decisive electoral victory,
    – overseen the creation, tidying up, and presentation of sensible National Party policies which the public is buying into
    – limited his attacks on Labour to a very few salient and undeniable points the public can understand and which are difficult for the despicable NZ media to attack,
    – armed his ministers with a short list of goals National have set for their next term in government which his ministers are repeating at every interview.
    
    If Luxon genuinely has a goal of fixing NZ, he has the pedigree to be one of our greatest prime ministers.
    
    Even if Luxon follows Key’s strategy of maintaining popularity whilst focusing on a few big infrastructure projects and improving productivity in the public service, we will be a lot better off than we are now.

        Not only is the disastrous Labour Party covid response now confined to history, but over 50% of NZ voters thought Labour and Adern did a good covid job.
        
        That said, People like you and I should never forget and should continue to fight for Adern, Bloomfield, et al to face prosecution for financially ruining and poisoning our country in their single minded pursuit of self enrichment.

        After receiving another email from NZDSOS explaining the tyranny of the lockdowns / covid jab; I emailed back thanking them for the information and asked what they will do about it.
        
        I now see they are advocating holding the perpetrators to account.

        Mark – it is not confined to history. There are just too many people smarting at the response to covid whether it is a vaccine injury, the loss of a family member or a business, or the attack on individual sovereignty. It will not go away. Luxon could at the very least engage in a conversation and find out what is hurting people, but he just will not. The 50% who supported Ardern’s response will to a very large extent be Labour voters – they voted her in with a simple majority. What percentage of non-Labour voters support the response? That is where Luxon is bleeding support.

        Or are you like so many others wanting us to harden up and take one for the team? Because the problem for most of us is, we may want rid of this government, but at this point in our lives we have no ‘team’.
        Nobody apparently gives a shit about us. Didn’t during the covid shit and don’t now.

  It looks like labour haven’t factored in Nationals policy to index tax rates to inflation, so in fact, people are likely to be better off.
  Sepuloni isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed so will struggle when challenged over her claims so may be of an actual benefit to National/ACT. The test will be how Luxon/Wllis use this to their advantage given the amount of debt/borrowing Labour are currently wedded too.

If not you must have been out of the room when the grown ups have been discussing the failures of Health/Education since 2017. Including the letter sent to 30,000 patients on the waiting list for elective surgery asking if they still need/want the surgery. Or why the had to put $8 million worth of measles vaccine in the incinerator? Failure seems to be built into every new massive amount allocated to Health/Education thus greater amounts due not mean better results. Lol

At their gathering this weekend Labour intends to rubbish National’s plan to raise the retirement age to 67. Do they know that’s already the plan in Australia. And to say that we would miss out on $100k is ridiculous. For a start it is going to give a retiree an extra two years of Kiwisaver.
The rest of their “reasoning” is just not worthy of even commenting on.

  The problem with the whole retirement age debate is that it ignores some pretty fundamental issues. While in theory, another two years behind a desk for someone in secure employment shouldn’t be the end of the world, it fails to take into account the massive issues we have with ageism and the physical issues for more manual roles.
  
  I’ve seen it happen to others in the professional sectors with older colleagues – the job offers (even in a booming market) drop to a trickle. I’m not so naive to think that it won’t happen to me when my clock ticks over!
  
  I’ve seen older professionals in engineering / construction become terrified every time there is a restructure – they know if they end up unemployed that could be it – they just won’t be hired. Fine if you have your own business and your experience is seen as a plus, but for a lot of employees in that 50 to 60+ bracket, well I’ve seen the fear on their faces – ageism is real. They might be perfectly happy working to 67 or beyond. The problem is ageism means if they get nudged out in their late 50’s or early 60’s, well 67 could seem a bloody long way off – happy to work, seen as ‘too old’, ‘not with it’, or ‘ok boomer’. Maybe they have a house and the partner still has a well paid job so no dole. It happens and will happen more and more. Few young hipsters like old buggers around the place – and this trend is only going to get worse. Any thoughts on how that’s going to be managed so people can actually continue to work until 67?
  
  During our current ‘jobs crisis’ I knew of several firms that were desperate for staff to do QS roles. I directed some older contacts their way – male and female and really good technical staff – but they weren’t even interviewed. It’s never in writing, and nothing was ever said. But the firms I knew that were looking were the same ‘vibrant / diverse’ firm. I know those really solid QS’ didn’t even get an interview because they were pale & stale. And that was during an employment crisis! What chance those older job seekers as they gain a few more years and the retirement ages is ever further away.
  
  And what about those poor buggers doing hard physical jobs? Even those standing on their feet 40+ house a week? Another 2 years could be bloody hard for them. Some will be fine and will want to work until they drop, some, well their body just can’t take it.
  
  If the reality is the age needs to increase to 67 – fine. But don’t just treat it as an accounting issue – there are a whole load of issues around this and they need some serious thought given to it if it is to work.
  
  So far, I’m not seeing anyone talk about the details and issues. As we’ve seen with this shit-show government of the last 6 years – talky talky does not equal doing – good policy needs bloody hard work and planning to make it actually work. Flash announcements and showing money at ‘the problem’ doesn’t work without the detail behind it.
  
  I’m not convinced any party has really thought long and hard about all the issues, not just the accounting.

The difficulty for National and Act is most of NZ are financially illiterate. There would even be a reasonable amount who believe Govt spending is from money magically created by the Govt. They also have no concept of the size of our debt

They need to describe labour as that relative you all have who is always broke, lending money off family members, but drives a flash car and has everything they have on hire purchase.

      Ha, they are just kids. They know everything and know nothing.
      We older farmers try to treat our many and varied expert advisors with respect- just a shame they don’t show the same courtesy to us.
      You can’t make a sustained living off the land and produce quality food and fibre products for local and export consumption, without investing in renewables, animal welfare and land management attuned to nature.
      End of story.
      PS- much of the best productive land where I live is now covered with housing subdivisions and vineyards. Both these use a lot of water, diesel machinery and unnatural substances eg sprays.
      How do the students fit their land regeneration theories into that? I was so pleased to see their offers of assistance to show us the correct way……..

The US government is yet again heading again to it’s debt ceiling. So, yet again there will be brinkmanship between the Republicans and Democrats up until the final deadline (15th June).

Dumb question, why can’t US governments (irrespective of hue) learn to live within their means.

The US is proof that their politicians are happy to live with an eternal Ponzi scheme, why when it does so much damage?

  To live within their means will not happen until the US stops funding other Countries. People are starving and homeless yet they give away billions overseas. So much in supplying Military Defence to Countries who don’t pay for it.
  US funding to UN is US$12Billion. WHO funded US$686Million.

    You right a lot of good stuff on here and I know you are firmly on the right on the US, but the debt shit in the US is both a red and blue issue and has been going on most of my life – and I’m not a young guy anymore.
    
    Pork barreling is as ingrained in the US as gerrymandering districts – both sides are just as bad as the other. For every thing you label against the Democrats, the GOP are just as bad. It’s one of the most democratic countries in the world and one of the most corrupt – their GFC budgets were basically corporate welfare and screw the little guy – and both red and blue signed up for that. A few minutes of research would show you the extent of red & blue shenanigans on the budget.
    
    You’ve got plenty of good hits on the Democrats, many valid, but let’s not pretend the GOP aren’t equally responsible for the almost annual ‘deficit brinkmanship games’.
    
    Debt deal will be reached – usually always is. And regardless of whether it’s the blues or the reds addict to the debt pile, the US debt pile grows and grows.
    
    What is depressing about their debt addiction though is that sooner or late the bills are always due. And a lot of the debt is held by an increasingly assertive and aggressive China.

I once enjoyed a casual drive through that city and hopping on the cable car to enjoy the vista or driving around the bays to arrive at a decent cafe. A couple of commenst about he justice system.

I read today of a British couple who murdered their small baby getting 29 and 27 years minimum, Beats any of our sentences. They didn’t seem to get any reduction for the usual things our lot get.

Also heard last night that some of the problems with people not getting jail sentences is because there aren’t enough cells. The judge is given info on how many cells there are and if those who should get a prison sentence exceed the numbers of cells available then they can’t be imprisoned.

So it s community detention and wet bus tickets again.

About those showers. There will be households who don’t realise the cost of longer showers and electric heating, especially larger families. They could usefully be better informed.

But how about targeted not sprayed. For example, 127,800 special needs grants in April. Assuming all or most have an interview first so why not ask for a couple of power bills to open a discussion about showers etc.

  It was NZ Rugby which said no to Ruby Tui re her request to have a rainbow/LGBT…emblem on her card.
  And this was because they were concerned that it would open the door to others wanting specific advertising material included on the cards.

Every time I think the US government can’t get more corrupt something like this happens, and as with the discussion above this is not so much about Democrat vs GOP but about a giant state of institutions that pretty much do what they want.

The IRS and journalist Matt Taibbi, where they opened a case on him on Christmas Eve (normally you’d say they must be hard workers to be working on that day), and then turned up on his door the day he was testifying to Congress:

“[The IRS examination] was a three-year-old case, and I didn’t owe them any money. So all of those factors combined to make the optics of this really strange. You would wonder what supervisor would be calling an agent on a Saturday and asking him to come into work to open up a case.”

The only good news is that apparently he’s owed a substantial refund!! 🙂

Re the news last week that our children’s literacy has fallen many places on the world rankings .. so they’re making some changes:

It sounds like Phonics is back in vogue for teaching reading but they can’t CALL it that because that would be too much egg on the face of our local Education GURUS — so now it’s called “Structured Literacy”.

Remember when Phonics was how we did it back in the nineties, until they scrapped it for the new “Whole Language” method? We bragged about it to the world.
What a success it was, said the propagandists.

Unfortunately for California, their teaching profession got sucked into the hype. However, after a year or two of adopting “Whole Language”, they realized it was a flop and dumped it.

But what did we do? Our educators stubbornly soldiered on with the new method. The Ministry of Education wouldn’t back down. Too embarrassing you see, and why would they when ‘the customers’ didn’t have the choice of taking away their tax money to pay for their own Phonics teachers.

Now I expect our rankings to improve, and then the new generation of educators will take the credit “because Structured Literacy works!” (which actually, is just Phonics re-branded, maybe with a few tweaks added so they can claim it’s “different”).

        I remember back in the mid-60s universal super was at 65 with no means test and you could get means-tested super at 60.
        
        After that Muldoon brought in universal super from 60. That had to be gradually increased to 65.

      A few years back, Mary Holm wrote a column in response to several people saying that over 65s still working should not get NZ Super, or at least be means tested. She talked to IRD who said the cost of this would exceed the savings. So more economic to retain universality.
      
      Perhaps ACT has a winter energy means test benefit/cost analysis in the back pocket. Good to know if it has been done, and that it will be on the table before the election.

English is the world lingua franca, and foreign tourists on many roads will far outnumber Maori speaker-readers, who also can read English.

A Red Radio report in a typical Leftist style, gives Brown a paragraph or two then dredges up opposition to his view.

The RNZ report cites Belgium as a country with more than one language on its road signs.
Road signs’ complexity is an issue in Belgium, and legislators have evem discussed adding English signage.

Belgium has three official languages (apart from its two languages for the deaf) plus seven minority languages.

Picard, the language of Picardy, spoken by about 2 per cent of Belgians (i.e. by a quarter of a million people), is probably nearest in equivalent size to the number of people who speak Maori in NZ. I doubt there are road signs in the language of Picardy.

As the general election nears, expect hysteria about Maori language from State radio, State TV, and from Labour’s subsidised print media.

    The news release says it is released for public consultation. I had to work hard to find out how you could actually add input. The questinairre that comes up is self serving. Instead of asking whether you agree or disagree the questionnaire asks questions like:
    
    “Do you think that the public and active transport family of signs present a good opportunity to achieve the goal of incorporating more te reo Māori onto Aotearoa New Zealand’s transport network?”
    
    It is not possible to answer the question without saying yes. You are not asked if you think it’s a good idea.
    
    The questionnaire goes on and on asking pretty much the same thing over and over.

        Interesting that after you spend the time to answer each of the questions you are not asked to identify yourself. No name or email request.
        
        Someone could easily go there multiple times and skew the results.

    Open for public ‘consultation’. Proposed signs carefully curated so the more ridiculous ones can be dropped. And the others quietly erected.
    
    Apparently (TVOne News) there has been a huge amount of research done. Perhaps by volunteers? Yeah right.
    
    Unless there is a change of government shortly.

  Red Radio (RNZ) ups the ante in its coverage of Maori road signage.
  
  It now has a comment from Maori Party co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer. She comments that the National Party “should go back to school if it thinks including Maori language on road signs is confusing”.
  
  Digging, I find that in November 2020, the web site reported Stuart Crosby, president of Local Government New Zealand, defending Maori on road signs.
  
  “It supports locals becoming more familiar with te reo Maori and it’s a poing of difference for New Zealand [for tourists],” Crosby said.
  
  😠Are my Christchurch City Council rates supporting this organisation, which also has been backing the Three Waters nationalisation?
  
  But really, putting an endangered indigenous language on road signs for tourists?
  
  If any second language were a drawcard on signs in tourist areas, standardised Chinese would be best. That’s where, after Australia, most of our tourists come from.

    You stupid woman, it is a road, not a place of education. A moment distraction by a stupid sign can cost a life. Oh and btw, if you are telling someone to go back to school if they think Māori is confusing, that is actually the place to learn to read and speak Māori, not on the road. Idiot
    
    Te Pāti Māori co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer said having the language included on road signs will help those in the process of learning te reo.
    
    “This is an environment where there’s more non-Māori learning reo than we ever had in the history of Aotearoa. It’s important that we embrace our nation hood, including our indigenous people and our language.”
    
    “We spent a long time trying to make sure we don’t lose our language, so having our culture in our roads is not just about helping those who are fluent Māori speakers, but so those who are in our education system learning reo can see it reflected around our environment.”
    
    She said Brown should go back to school if he thought te reo Māori on road signs was confusing.

An overnight fire at Loafer Lodge, in Newtown, has killed an unknown number of people. Wellington City mayor Tory Whanau gives an update.
A fire broke out at Wellington’s Loafers Lodge hostel in Newtown overnight. Dozens of people are feared dead, FENZ has called it a ‘multiple-fatality’ event.
