  I’m not slow off the mark given an opportunity to criticise Ardern, but does anyone still believe closing borders to ‘at risk’ peoples has any merit? BTW, New Zealand’s Covid death rate is currently 260x that of China.

      Do you thinks NZ stats are any better. Remember the year they told us all the people who were dying of covid when in fact it was people who died of any cause within 28 days of a positive test. And where do NZ get their stats anyway? NZers aren’t asked to report or record their covid infections so how do they know how many cases?

      Really, Maggy? Pure mathematics. China has circa one quarter of the world’s population. They’ve been jabbed with Sinovax, which has been reported as being less effective than Pfizer (!). Despite their long lockdown, who knows what has been circulating & perhaps mutating. And, I trust the CCP as far as I can throw them. So, yes, I think a level of caution is advisable.

        I agree, but the entire covid-19 issue has been politicised from Day 1 and I’m not too keen on trusting any political entity about this pandemic now.
        
        I think a level of caution is advisable.
        
        Caution is always advisable when your health is vulnerable.
        
        But as the current variant BF7 which is coursing through China is also in India, USA, UK, Europe and probably Australia, I think singling Out Mainland China as the only country requiring pre-departure tests may be a futile exercise.

      Masanori Fukushima: I majored [in] biochemistry at Kyoto University post graduate school and actually I am the eldest medical oncologist in our country. I opened in the academic sector the first out-patient clinic for cancer patients in 2003 when I was Professor at Kyoto University. I [became involved in] pharmaco-epidemiology in 2000. This is the study of stop[ping] drug disaster[s]. That’s the mission, the raison d’etre. That’s why I’m involved with the COVID-19 vaccine problem. Because no scientists and only a few physicians have spoken out about the problem of vaccines.
      
      So no, he’s not a fringe “conspiracy theorist.”
      Here are some key comments from his interview on the 28th December. It is a startling interview.
      
      ….when I heard that Government and EU and USA started the messenger RNA program my first impression was this is so stupid. Because messenger RNA is evolutionary, and the cell system is degraded always in a very short time. Messenger RNA is fragile and should be degraded promptly in the body. But this vaccine is modified and manipulated to be stable and to be incorporated in nanoparticles.
      
      ……But it has became a kind of religion. Still, they believe in the effectiveness of the vaccine – it’s like a Messiah.
      
      …….The cases (vaccine damage) are accumulating but the Government has denied causality even for the autopsied cases, in which the pathologist has pointed out the causality. There is clear evidence of a significant increase in heart problems and vascular problems such as strokes and pneumonia-like symptoms and others.
      
      ……I asked the government to disclose the COVID-19 mortality in vaccinated and non-vaccinated people. This statistic is critical. If there is no difference, then the vaccine induced deaths do not justify the use of the vaccines. I officially requested this information with my attorney on August 1st. And the first answer was “wait two months”. And then the final answer was “no, we do not disclose”. So, the next step is to sue the Government.
      
      ……There are so many deaths. It is an unprecedented vaccine disaster. I can’t imagine how many people have really died. 2,000 is the minimum, the tip of the iceberg.
      
      Finally, to endorse Krazykiwi’s earlier post re vaccines fueling variants (as predicted by many.)
      
      PP: Finally, in your reports you said, perhaps particularly the booster shots, are damaging people’s immune systems, opening them up to all kinds of problems?
      
      MF: Yes, this has been known from the early days of the vaccine, that it may trigger ADE which is when the antibody accelerates cellular infections. And if you are repeatedly dosed this can lead to original antigen sin. The first-generation vaccine was designed to attack the first variant and second Delta. This was already clearly demonstrated by Catherine Reynolds’ report. So, vaccinated people do not produce appropriate anti-bodies for Omicron. The vaccines can shut down the innate immune system due to the first design of the vaccine.

        Wow. The Professor is quite wound up. He will sue the Government. My main thought is, can this happen (suing) in NZ or are we just too small
        Some people have got away with not having a reaction, and some others have paid the ultimate price. This needs to go to the NZ Govt Officials, and have it drummed into them, and they must come back with a decision as to why we were forced to take it. None of Japinda’s bullshit about not being forced, we were blackmailed by her.
        I have dumped both videos on Facebook. Be interesting if the Factcheckers baulk.

Like other such studies, it shows how vaccination spurs the production of immunoglobulin antibodies (IgG) in large quantities, which is certainly what they are intended to do.         My response was also an opinion, not a criticism of your comment. I wasn’t presuming whether you thought it was right or wrong.
        I agree, if I had covid I would prefer to stay at home. As with any respiratory illness, depending on the severity of course and depending on how important the journey out actually was.

        The search for the pot of gold anti viral vaccine is a history of ongoing failure driven by those with enormous conflicts of interest. The covid response is just the latest variation of “pandemic/miracle cure”.
        
        An in depth article on the subject was written recently by Eugyppius.
        
        Aspects of pandemicism are as old as 1918, but the proximate origins of this mind virus are much more recent. Tellingly, they don’t lie with any kind of pandemic at all, but rather with the WHO campaign to eradicate smallpox. This started in 1967, and it took ten years to complete. Any institutionalised enterprise that persists for a full decade will acquire institutional momentum, such that it can’t simply be turned off when the mission is over. Just as the push for trans rights and trans acceptance owes a lot to the institutional forces accumulated by the gay rights movement since the 1970s, pandemicism became the next stage of advocacy for the smallpox eradicators after they had put themselves out of business.
        
        They’re just not the most intelligent or introspective people.

I have lost count of the number of times I’ve been called a Conspiracy Theorist™.

It is therefore vindicating, if a little frustrating when things that I (and others) have been saying for literally years start to hit the mainstream media.

Here is a good example, quoting The Wall Street Journal: Are Vaccines Fueling New Covid Variants? The virus appears to be evolving in ways that evade immunity.

I’m sorry if some people have ‘moved on’. This is the greatest deliberate train wreck in human history, the those responsible for it – and for continuing it – must be held to account.

      The recent bombshell study is called ‘The Cleveland Report’. I commented on this a couple of days back. The researchers went beyond basic antibodies, and looked at the four antibody sub-types, these each having specific purposes. The experimental genetic injectable increases antibodies, but it achieved this by suppressing the sub-types (IgG1, IgG3 that mark pathogens for destruction by the adaptive immune system, and massively increasing the sub-type (IgG4) that marks pathogens for being ignored by the adaptive immune system. This is why more ‘vaccination’ = more illness.

        kk: You are probably aware of posts by Dr John Campbell on his YouTube channel, over the last 3 years or so, related to Covid. In the latest post he reports on a reanalysis of mRNA (vaccine) Phase III clinical trial data for Pfizer and Moderna Covid vaccines. This is not his reanalysis by the way, from memory, without re-reading Campbell’s post, by people involved in the trials.
        
        The reanalysis looked at the excess of adverse effects of special interest (AESI) from the vaccines compared with the placebos in the randomised double-blind trial. Very interesting…
        
        Campbell compared this with the serious AESI from two earlier vaccines unrelated to Covid – Swine flu vaccine (1976) and Rotavirus vaccine Rotashield (1999). In both cases, with very low numbers of AESI, CDC withdrew the vaccines.
        
        The Covid data reanalysis shows significantly higher AESI than with the two earlier vaccines. Campbell wonders, following the earlier precedents, “why haven’t the Covid vaccines been withdrawn” given the reanalysis, and makes the point that if the trial data had been publicly available at the outset this analysis could have been done much earlier.
        
        BTW, I am not anti-vaccines and have been injected with the Pfizer vaccine up to the two boosters.

    Who knew? Clearly not the manufacturers of the experiment or those in the NZ health system and Medsafe who did everything in their power to force people to get injected with this experiment.
    
    It is a fact that vaccinating during a pandemic causes variants and is one of the worst things you can do. These “experts” should have known that. If they did, they are guilty of malfeasance. If they didn’t, they are guilty of gross incompetence.
    
    And KK – never apologise for not “moving on”. This is one of the greatest preventable disasters in human history. Those who drove it need to be held to account. Those who continue to support it are ass clowns who deserve ridicule.

      At least it’s easy to spot those that are still all in on it. The amount of people wearing masks and gloves to the supermarket recently has been surprising.
      
      Whats the logic here? I’m going to wear something that doesn’t protect me from a virus that’s milder than a normal winter cold because the 4 shots I took aren’t helping either.
      
      I saw the local gp wearing a mask in the outdoor timber yard the other day.
      
      And people go to them for health advice…
      
      I don’t care if you want to wear a mask, but you look ridiculous and give away your lack of IQ by wearing one, and have done from the start.

        Opie – I saw the head of our medical centre at a local market yesterday wearing a full on N95. I saw 2 other people in a crowd of at least 3 or 4 hundred with basic masks on, one had his under his chin, presumably to catch his dribbles……
        As with your local gp, I am guessing that the reason our medical centre leader was wearing the mask is because they have supported and helped drive this narrative.
        They have to pretend to still support it otherwise those who religiously follow their guidelines might start asking questions.
        
        They have also benefited financially.

        To clarify, I agree with your statement. Though prior to covid I genuinely did believe they were medical experts who had my health as their primary concern.
        But the fact that so many medically trained people didn’t ask obvious questions (the exception being NZDSOS) is concerning.
        
        How many genuinely didn’t understand the potential problems and how many just kept their mouth shut because they couldn’t handle the fallout and associated loss of income?

        Interesting. I was pretty sure you would have something in mind along those lines.
        
        All I can say is that this one involves pretty much the whole world, and this one is in the very early stages of damage done.
        If it’s close to the predictions of the “conspiracy theorists” (who are so far about 6-0 up in the right/wrong stakes) then the potential numbers will dwarf the events you listed.
        
        I hope not, but so far, all indications are that worst scenarios predicted at the beginning of this event all seem to be coming true.
        Except in New Zimbabwe of course, where our “single source of truth” continues to dribble on about how “safe and effective” this experiment is and continues to push it on naive and trusting citizens.
        It’s an avoidable tragedy unfolding.

      David, the left vote is below 50%, even if the Great Charlatan takes votes from Labour/Greens he will not help Labour, Greens, Maori over 50%.
      
      Those supporting National/Act are not likely to switch to NZF.
      
      Remember, the Labour vote in Hamilton even with no Greens was only 30%.
      
      Labour vote will go 4 ways this year, these being:
      1. A small percentage National;
      2. A significant percentage Green;
      3. A small percentage NZF (hopefully less than 5%); and
      4. A significant percentage of bedrock Labour will not vote. They are those who can’t contemplate voting anything but Labour, but can’t bring themselves to vote for Jacinda.
      
      The result will mean National will reach 50% at the election.

        MCos, the conditions are similar to 1990. Bolger’s Nats achieved 48%, it would have been 50% and fewer Labour seats had Labour not replaced Palmer with Moore 8 weeks before the election.
        
        The cast is already set for Labour to be humiliated, in 2023. Analysis of current polls the Hamilton by-election, and the 2017 and 2020 results and a scenario of National achieving 47% to 50% and Act 10% is not improbable.
        
        This scenario includes votes also shifting to the Green Party, Maori Party & NZF, from Labour, but NZF achieving only 4.5% of the vote. It also assumes up to 50,000 of Labour’s core vote will not vote, as was evidenced in Hamilton.
        
        So, as things stand National achieving 50% is not fantasy.

        Milky is trolling, but it’s interesting to make a couple of online searches of NZ Legislation at the Parliamentary site.
        
        Look for legislation starting with “New Zealand” and the references run to hundreds.
        
        Search for “Aotearoa New Zealand ” and there about a dozen. The most recent is Wily-Willie Jackson’s Aotearoa New Zealand Public Media Bill, which will dissolve Radio NZ and TVNZ and create a new State broadcaster.
        
        This is due to come into effect on March 1.
        
        The Mahuta-Jackson insurrectionists who have hijacked the Labour Party are moving at a gallop. They know Labour will be dumped this year.
        
        Jackson will then be back to radio host, this time probably on the tribal network. He’s a recent learner of Maori language, but he’ll get by on NZ Pidgin.

The Prime Minister has never understood the subtleties of the hate-speech debate but this was a doozy. Adding religion is not just an “additional word”. It is a whole new can of worms — and fundamentally different to the other protected categories because religious belief is not innate.

Furthermore, it is substantially similar to political belief. If you protect one you should logically protect the other, which is, of course, absurd.

  Richard Dawkins is visiting New Zealand for a speaking tour in a few weeks. He holds strong views on religion, to put it mildly.
  
  He has declared repeatedly that “Islam is the greatest force for evil in the world today”. Would a lecture in New Zealand, centred around such a theme, be illegal under the proposed hate speech law covering religion? Would the PM be able to tell us? If the police received a complaint, would they arrest and charge one of the world’s most respected scientists?
  
  The Government cannot have it both ways. Jacinda cannot say “you have nothing to worry about” while arguing at the same time that the law is needed to ‘protect’ people. I don’t see how Richard Dawkins could get away with arguing publicly in a lecture that Islam is a force for evil.

Dawkins had ridiculed the notion that ‘Maori Science’ can be taught alongside science in schools.     I’m Christian and understand religious beliefs have a huge bearing on the actions taken individually and in society. Some of the extreme beliefs of Islam are a threat to humanity. But contrary to Dawkins view I believe his religious belief of Evolution, not the scientific fact of adaptation, is in fact a greater issue for humanity.
    
    It is this philosophy that convinced the Germans of the superiority of the Aryan race. Look at the crimes against humanity that caused.
    
    In the hands of the climate change activists and global elite it is being used to place humans in conflict with the entire ecosystem- this depopulation becomes a morally correct strategy.
    
    I’m sticking with the view that we and the world we live in has been created by an Intelligent and Loving God. We are the reason the creation was made and we are responsible for its stewardship. The two greatest commandments are for us to love God and then our Neighbour. So at no stage does depopulation become a morally valid philosophy.

      I thought at the time that there really wasn’t a lot of differences between them. They each thought their religion was the only true one.
      
      At least none of the ones I tried advocated killing anyone that didn’t favor their brand of religion.

    I doubt that there is any more much sincere belief in the Polynesian goods, let alone any strict observance of traditional religious practices to the exclusion of other faith influences.

I watched until tea when we were 220 plus of 1 and never saw a reverse sweep attempted by any of Latham, Conway or Williamson.

    I was a bit surprised with the successive experiments with Ravindra and now Bracewell as test all-rounders.
    Bracewell is an ideal short-form bowler, much like Sodhi, but we’d obviously love to have a spinner who can bat at a test standard. We’re not likely to have one appear like magic and given we’re out of the running for this test cycle, perhaps the selectors need to stick with someone whose batting is most likely to develop.

As the motorcycle officer walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said “I BET YOU ARE GOING TO SELL ME A TICKET TO THE MOTORCYCLE COP’S BALL”. He replied with “MOTORCYCLE COPS DON’T HAVE BALLS”. There was a moment of silence while she smiled, and he realised what he’d just said. He then closed his book, got back on his motorcycle and left. She was laughing too hard to start her car for several minutes.

But are they really small fry?

It seems to me that there are some crimes of theft or vandalism, because they target the weak, or assets belonging to the community, in this case kids, that are particularly odious and worthy of greater condemnation.

In this case someone is attempting to personally gain from stealing assets purchased with community funds for the betterment of all, in this case our kids.

Utterly disgraceful and crimes which seem to be happening more often these days. I see for example yet another mass pilfering of bronze plaques from cemetery headstones, and I see quite regularly schools burgled and kids computer gear taken in large numbers – surely something you couldn’t go much lower than.

As to remedies, I don’t know. It just sits wrongly with me that that this is regarded as such a low level affair.

  Well, there’s a question. fires were very popular at one time, up until the eighteenth century I believe, although i am not familiar with media delight at same. I think some captives in the musket wars here in the 19th century might have been burned, or cooked, alive but, again, I’m not sure how widely celebrated those fires were in the media. A more recent example might be media celebrating the vandalism of ‘German’ businesses during WWI.
  Other commenters might be able to take the tale of glee at arson, etc up to the present day.

It has been pointed out to me that judging by the photos of the interviews he is about to give, the Californian sunshine seems to have made his hair grow. Of course it could be photoshopped as well but surely not when he loves truth.

Just thinking out loud via txt. Imagine the likes of Maggy Wassilieff, Benedict, Krazykiwi etc etc in parliament who obviously are intellectuals instead of ‘career politicians’ i.e fish and chip wrappers giving facts over ‘slogans’ or Steve Otto or Maggi-pie crushing lightweight comedians like Robertson or Jackson? Or Ngatimozart explaining to wannaby servicemen/women the realities of NZ’s armed forces.

I’m your typical swing voter. I’ve voted Labour, NZF, National, and ACT but the Greens…..not on your nelly. There is no way in hell I’ll vote for either Labour or NZF this next cycle.

  I have no doubt that some individuals commenting here would be capable of conducting interesting, informed and extended debate about many interesting things. But that’s not what Kiwiblog is for. It’s an entertainment forum – fomenting happy mischief and all that.

  I have only ever voted for National, as that is the party which appears to have the same values in life as mine.
  I don’t care who their MPs may be, or who the potential Prime Minister may be: I vote for their principles.
  I vote for personal responsibility, for the government to stay out of my life as much as possible and for the government to act for the reduction of state welfare.

The “anti vaxxers” are right.

A new Rasmussen report is out today. Rasmussen asked people about COVID vaccine deaths and polled them on whether vaccine dangers are baseless conspiracy theories.

The key findings are:

28% of adults say they personally know someone whose death was caused by side effects of COVID-19 vaccines, while 61% said no, and another 10% are not sure.

More people (48%) are concerned about Covid vaccine injuries than 37% who think that Covid vaccine injuries are conspiracy theories. The things we have discussed are no longer considered “conspiracies” and are believed by the majority! (thank you for spreading the word)
