Jacinda Ardern at it again just like she did at the ChristChurch Terrorist attack, White Island and Covid-19 a con artist that uses crocodile tears to dupe the public.

How can this person have any credibility when she uses a phone call to opologize to the victims family and uses the media to highlight that she was in tears, how can the public have any confidence in our Prime Minister when she lies about what she has done to combat crime and says they are not soft on crime.
It’s all about Jacinda Ardern with media conference to show that she apparently cares, but not enough to visit the victims Family after nearly a week chosing a phone call to opologize and using the corrupt media to highlight it, Prime Minister’s should be better than that but it appears Jacinda Ardern is not.

Still I can’t see what Jacinda gains as her end game – albeit that this may be the only policy they do deliver – again, sorry

But, what is being missed here?
Is it perhaps that those spurring this on is the Maori Caucus who see (even know) Jacinda has had enough, or is moving on, and they want to do the business before that happens.
So they threaten: do the deal – or they will split now, sink the waka, but blow her out of the water and so screw any UN job as well.

This has the makings of a very disinfomative conspiracy theory, just needs a bit more work.

I must take shorter showers.
And perhaps take the medications before I take the shower.

Students face a grim jobs market as thousands graduate into a recession

Unions, student and other, are worried dream jobs might be slipping away from new grads. Notice no mention of degree subjects in the article.

Xavier Walsh is the co-president of Unite Union ….. Walsh said it was no surprise new graduates were nervous, considering the economic environment they were walking into.

“We are already struggling with the cost of living, we are already struggling to find affordable housing. Looking into the future and what is next, it is hard to not feel disillusioned,” Walsh said….. “This younger generation is hopeful, they want to use their skills in meaningful work to change the world for the better. If they end up entering a labour market that does not appreciate them it will be quite disheartening,” Walsh said.

Why would employers hire people with those attitudes? Apart from employers who value those attitudes, and that will be a shrinking market if actual delivery of outcomes becomes slightly more normal.

    Talking to our usual Coffee Bar owner this norning who has had to shut her cooking facilities until 9am.
    She cannot get a cook – she has had one for years , but has just had enough as she can do better on the dole or whatever, but she cannot/dare not get somebody without the relative experience – she recons that would put her closer to bankrupt if she did and it is quite bad enough as it is and is expected to get worse even over Christmas, as people were no longer doing coffee etc.

    No shortage of jobs with folks who’ve completed a B.Nurs. degree…
    
    Perhaps the problem is with folks who’ve graduated with a BPA (Bachelor Performing Arts) or a B.Communication Studies (Journalism).
    
    But even 45 years ago, there was no guarantee of a dream job upon graduation.
    I went garden labouring after my hons. year ..
    and have never regretted picking up some practical skills and horticultural knowledge in that year.

  Those kids are graduating now. One has landed a job with Mars in their graduate program. His girlfriend just graduated as a radiologist and is starting in Auckland. Another is a doctor, others engineers.

A question, one “hiding in plain sight” –
“Co-governance” apparently means equal governance between “Crown” and “Maori”.
So “Crown governance” is vaguely straight-forward, but what of any “Maori governance”.

What body, council, tribal representatives, chiefs, Kīngitanga, a long-standing or new political institution, or identifiable Maori entity will “co-govern”?

Instead –
A simple definition recognises three key features of racism.

The policy and actions of the New Zealand government are, according to this straightforward understanding, racist.

    Then the vast vast majority of that infrastucture ( and here I’m not talking of it in its natural , pre colonial state) was built by settlers on the back of taxes , rates and loans or as private businesses , farms and individuals .
    
    As such the only “interest” that Maoris have in it is exactly the same interest the rest of us have in it , as rate and tax payers , as citizens in a democracy with equal rights and obligations before the law.
    
    If it’s public then we all own it and we all have an interest in it.

  FWIW this isn’t about privatisation, Section 116 is about any water services entity having to maintain its capacity to meet its obligations under the Bill. It then offers some particular no-noes – use of infrastructure for securities, divesting ownership of the services, or disposing of significant infrastructure.
  
  It would seem to me that this includes transfers to other government agencies, whether local or central.
  
  So not about privatisation, its about preserving water service entities in stone.

Listening to some callers on Friday about their experiences with Oranga Tamariki shows what we all knew. It needs to be scripted back to square one and fundamentally rebuilt

Stories of
– needing lawyers to get basic financial support for kids in foster homes
– constantly trying to move kids between homes so they are never settled
– fighting OT and the birth parent constantly

I wonder how many ram raiders and other young criminals come from a OT background?

The Barbados government are looking for reparations from the descendants of a prominent slave owning family. No word on whether that includes shipping present day Bajans back to West Africa.

Here in NZ, it also raises an interesting precedent as to whether the wealthy descendants of iwi could be likewise sued. For example, whether Ngati Toa could sue Tainui for the return of their Waikato lands.

I asked around my National Party mates yesterday where Mr Luxon was when Labour was fucking over our constitutional protocols. He seemed very silent. They told me he had appointments with his te reo teacher and then at a McDonald’s pouring chocolate shakes and handing them out at the drive thru. Fair enough. Sounds like prime minister material to me.

    This issue is so serious it required more than just a press release. I would have called a press conference, outlining the tyranny of it and telling the 80,000 submitters that not only were they not listened to, but the government has given them the middle finger.

        Prince this is true for business but not politics. In politics the leaders brand and the parties brand are completely interlinked. Your people only truely get a shot at doing great work if you win the election. That is Luxon’s top priority. Staying behind the scenes while his people boost their profiles will result in a short tenure. Peter’s and Seymour both know how to get positive sound bites into the media. Luxon is struggling to get the same cut through. The Propaganda Press aren’t going to give him a fair ride. So he needs to learn the skill or get help with the pithy sound bite.

      At best national is centre left – and with a religious underpinning. Our only right wing party (or close to it) is ACT, and even they stuck two fingers up at voters and the rule of law during the last few years of stupidity.
      
      The next election will be the hardest voting process for me in a long time. Ill still vote electorate blue, party yellow, but thats with clothes pegs and holding my nose tightly. Neither national or act give a toss about the rule of law when it comes down to it – they simply mouth a good game – and Seymour is the biggest hypocrite of them all – the so called freedom party. Freedom from principles perhaps.
      
      When labour trampled our BoRA and blue and yellow cheered them on, I realised that politicians of all colours are hypocritical wankers.

  Justice spokesman Paul Goldsmith and Local Govt spokesman Simon Watts released the following statement yesterday, which ironically I found on the Bassett, Brash and Hide blog, which is Act aligned:
  
  PR: Paul Goldsmith and Simon Watts – Labour must reverse Three Waters skullduggery
  The Government has been caught sneaking a rarely-used legal provision into the proposed Three Waters legislation which will make it harder for Parliament to overturn, National Justice Spokesperson Paul Goldsmith and Local Government spokesperson Simon Watts say.
  
  This week, while Parliament sat under urgency pushing legislation through, Labour and the Greens added a provision that means once Three Waters becomes law, it would take 60 per cent of MPs to overturn it, instead of a simple majority which applies to almost every law passed, except for a few constitutional matters.
  
  “Entrenched provisions are used rarely in New Zealand for good reason and until now they have been reserved for core constitutional issues like parts of the Electoral Act,” Mr Goldsmith says.
  
  “Labour and the Greens have now colluded to entrench in law a contentious policy position, without any real debate and while the House was sitting under urgency.
  
  “Entrenched provisions in law should be reserved for matters largely above politics, and when used they should be subject to careful scrutiny and debate. The exact opposite has happened in this case.
  
  “As constitutional lawyer Dr Dean Knight has said, “this is unusual and doesn’t sit well with our current constitutional traditions… it’s regrettable this significant constitutional development only came to light in committee of the whole stage and was not subject to scrutiny and public submission”.
  
  “The passing of this SOP sets a very dangerous precedent. If a National Government had passed a provision like this over, say, for example, the three strikes sentencing regime, Labour and the Greens would be outraged,” Mr Goldsmith says.
  
  Local Government spokesperson Simon Watts said Labour has used the veil of urgency to ram through an unconstitutional clause to block future changes to a broken bill, which National will repeal and replace.
  
  “Labour and the Greens need to immediately walk this move back. When the House resumes in December, National will move to recommit the Water Services Entities Bill back to the committee of the Whole House Stage to excise this unconstitutional and undemocratic clause. We urge the government to vote for it and for cool heads to prevail.”

    To change this government we are going to need National to stick with a leader, then focus on getting better at guerilla politics – continually chipping away at Labour where they are weak.
    
    Don’t announce policy. Just foster dissatisfaction at every opportunity with the lawlessness, cost of living crisis bought on by reckless expenditure, Ardens narcissism, racial division of NZ, failing health system, immigration policies, new taxes, education system decline etc etc.

      The nature of animal products is very much determined by what they eat, for example butter from cows fed too much palm kernel expeller was rejected as being a palm oil butter blend by overseas customers, hence the restrictions and daily testing of Fonterra milk for pke.
      Fish meat is only high in Omega 3 fatty acids if their diet is corresponding high, and fish meat is high in mercury for the same reason.
      Beef from well managed pastural soils can be just as high in Omega 3 as fatty fish.

The Herald on Sunday reported after the man was deported, he ended up in emergency housing in South Auckland.

If you are a conservative should you be concerned with the re-election of Dan Andrews as Premier in Victoria?

This man subjected Victorians to the harshest lock downs of any city in the world and virtually turned Melbourne into a police state in 2020-21.

Yet the people of Melbourne/Victoria are happy for him to run their lives for another 4 years.

Jacinda has praised Andrews and must be encouraged by the result that far -left/woke politics does appeal to the masses.

Something to think about next year and remember polls don’t mean anything in the mean time even if Jacinda and Labour are behind on them at the moment.

    The fundamentalist Christian factions were mostly a Media assassination/beat-up whereby a Liberal Candidate’s Father is a Fundamentalist Preacher and although the daughter (the candidate) was entitled to her own views, her Father’s views were used by the Media as a weapon against the Liberal Party.   It’s not as if they even tried booting these terrible people out in Democratic primaries so they could get another Democrat to vote for in the General Election. Even from the POV of party tribalism I could have understood that. You love the Party, its policies and principles, but hate the politicians.

    I imagine quite a few on here voted for MMP – even though it is divisive and gives power to a lot of single-issue activists with no conscience, ability or accountability.
    Ms Sage has been a list MP since 2011 and when she stood for election in 2017 (Port Hills, Canterbury) she was able to attract only 7.5% support.

An example of subsidised newspapers, State Radio, and State TV working as a pack …

The Herald prints an article from Red Radio about the change of an English place name in Taranaki to a Maori name.

It claims the original English name celebrated a militia man who (or whose men) allegedly killed Maori children.

It would be helpful to know how the claims about the militia man were verified by modern standards of legal fairness.

My beef is more about the gloating tone of the Herald report.

The Taranaki wars were nasty, but not as clear cut as the Woke and Maori activists would have it. Some Maori fought on the Government side.

But on place names …

The drive to promote Maori language is intense. The goal has moved from saving it to giving it precedence over English, the current world Lingua Franca.

If Maori is to be a true dual language of this little country, why can’t the duality apply to place names?

What is wrong with dual-language place names? Why can’t those who want to call our highest mountain have the choice of using “Mount Cook” or “Aoraki”? Each medium, should freely choose which to use, or perhaps use both at once, or vary them according to local custom.

I don’t mean the “dual name” category of the the Maori-dominated Geographic Board:

Two names for a feature or place from different languages, usually Maori and English, used together as one name.

But that shouldn’t be despised, either.

    A quick Google search shows that it is a highly contested theory. A recent medical article (August 2022) was strongly of the view that the origin is the Wuhan wet market, not the Wuhan lab. Sorry I have not learned to do links, but no doubt you will find the article.

All of this hullabaloo about mowrees and 3Waters+2More Waters and the mowrees owning everything. Firstly the board members are only temporary whereas the 35 year services contracts worth up to $480b if their last estimate was right about how much its going to cost to fix it all.Add to that the conditions for the contracted company to provide those services that those companies can provide cover of liability for the undertaking of those contracts. This will exclude most probably 99% on NZ companies. So the question to be asked. Who might the contracting companies be? Multinational trillionaire balance sheet hedge fund investment companies? If so, they will be bankrolled by the NZ Inc and also have an insurance policy that guarantees their business for all of this via the Ctppa or whatever its called now. The condition in the ctppa has a clause that allows companies to ‘sue’ the NZ government for any losses of revenue. So this bs sideshow about the mowrees is just more white noise.

  The first was on page 5 advertising the full story on pages 18 and 19.
  
  The last two paragraphs on the p5 article quoted the late Brian Gaynor saying existing shareholders did extremely well ( out of the IPO ) realising $282.5 mil.
  Waterman Capital $190 .6 mil. Robinson and husband James $30.3 mil.Gattung $27.7 and Lim and husband Carlos Bagrie $15.4 mil.
  
  He said that in his opinion “The IPO was predominantly an exit vehicle for existing shareholders rather than an equity raising for MFB as only $54.8mil or 16.2 % of the total amount raised went to the company”

One of the inmates here has purchased a new power tool and is immersed in the studying of the accompanying pamphlets and instruction manual.
The latter contains instructions in 10 languages.
But Te Reo is not one of them – which is apparently a huge win for common sense.
Won’t say which supplier of power tools this is in case demands ensue that Te Reo-only operation manuals be mandated and the Government feels obliged to issue new licences/rules/taxes/fines – or something.

Amused to read in the Dom Post that John Key has revealed more of his meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, sitting next to him at the APEC dinner.
Medvedev told the PM it would take 15 minutes for a missile from Moscow to reach Washington DC. The PM couldn’t contain his curiousity and asked how long it would take to reach NZ.
Medvedev consulted the person standing behind him and replied “22 minutes, but I’ll ring you beforehand”
Uh duh – John Key should know better than to ask that as due to our anti nuclear legislation the missile would splash into the ocean just outside our economic zone – shesh surely the Russian President would know this?
I mean the US are so dumb spending all their billions on missile defense – all they need to do is pass anti nuclear legislation and the whole of the US would be safe………grrr how dumb are they?

Labour know they have less than 12 months in government, they know that they no longer have a mandate in the publics mind, they know the public don’t want a bar of 5 waters or any other co governance arrangements, the public can’t wait to get rid of them. So instead of respecting the public even just a little, they rub our noses in it by entrenching legislation behind a high bar. Mind you if that’s how they want to play it, I can’t wait for the areas a Nat/ACT government can entrench using this one as a precedent.

  Just boil up a pot of asparagus, then slap a loaf of bread and a load of butter/cream cheese on the table and leave them to it.

    Not so much ‘them’ – HER.
    Solo mum I don’t have much to do with tbh.
    Was married to an airline pilot until he ran off with a baggage-handler.
    My partner feels a bit sorry for her and she’ll often bale him up for a chat when she sees him outside.
    Even helps her out on occasion with little things round the house.
    
    I had some White Stilton in the fridge but didn’t want to waste it. Luckily found an old tin of ‘Oak-Asparagus-Spears’ at the back of the pantry. Defrosted a few slices of White Sandwich and rolled them up with butter. She loved them. LOL!!
    
    My partner’s just walking her back home now.
    I’ve got everything cleaned up and about to head upstairs for a bath. Talk later.

About 1/2 hour ago I was listening to the Duncan Garner show and a caller rang in to say a couple of car loads of Mongrel mob members are outside his house intimidating him and his family apparently for complaining about excessive car noise from them.

Hes still waiting for the police to show up after ringing them 2 hours ago.

Don’t know how accurate the story is but have to take it at face value.

Garner said he would help. Anyone know anything?
