Coronavirus: Government seeking to extend powers behind Covid restrictions until 2025.
You have to ask yourself whether you would put your “Trust” again in Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern or her Government if this sees daylight and becomes law.
Could you again trust them not to tamper with election dates if things started to look glum for the Prime Minister and Labour , well I couldn’t because her Leadership is about blame, lies and deciet never of her own making, so how could give her more power to divide New Zealander’s further.

The chart shows the percentage of Covid-19 deaths by vaccination status per month in England between 1st January and 31st May 2022, according to the latest ONS dataset. The proportion of deaths attributed to the unvaccinated looks to have halved (I’ve not yet downloaded the raw data). Are the unvaccinated getting progressively healthier, or are the vaccinating dying at an increasing rate?

  Wonder what definition they are using for “vaccinated” now. As a lot of people stop taking boosters there will be a lot less people falling into the two week “unvaccinated” window after vax that used to exist. Also any usefulness of a vax given say a year ago will now be at least nullified by the harms of caused by the vax to your immune and other systems.

    Yes, the definition is important. Governments have played fast and lose with these, but mostly to suppress evidence of the utility and/or harm of these experimental genetic injectables. One such trick was classifying anyone unvaccinated until 14 days after their first jab – a Bayesian data-crime if ever there was one. This meant infections from temporary immune suppression, hospitalisations and deaths in that cohort were attributed to the unvaccinated.

  I ask people, both for and against the catalyst (vaccine), how many people they personally know directly or indirectly through a contact, that have died from Covid, or have long lasting effects of Covid.
  
  Almost all do not know anyone, but those who have taken the catalyst (vaccine), will ramble on about the stats on TV.
  
  I then ask them how many they personally know directly or indirectly through a contact, that have died shortly after the vaccine, or that have long lasting side effects. Most people know several.
  
  There are people I know that have loyally taken the shots, but stopped after the first two, or after the first booster, as a result of sudden heart attacks, racing heart, irregular heart beat, extreme fatigue, seizures, anaphylactic shock, sudden arthritis, gout… and the list goes on.
  
  In many cases their medical professional/doctor/heart specialist has told them “off the record” that it was caused by the vaccine but that they cannot officially report it as that.
  
  The hospital system, GPs, and specialists are being run off their feet with wave after wave of a 300 foot high Tsunami of health issues. And there is systemic bullying in the hospitals as staff are told not keep their mouths shut and not question anything.

More bullshit about how Maori are great custodians of fish stocks. There is evidence that pre-European Maori overfished estuaries but we ignore that to keep the happy story going. Ever noticed that a large percentage of those caught for having too many shellfish have Maori name?

  Quite so. I have also noticed, on the couple of occasions the fisheries police have been checking catches when I have been out, that they studiously ignore the boats containing half a dozen Islanders and check the old and not so old white guys like me. I guess if I was a Fisheries Officer I may do just the same rather than take on a boatload of burly Polynesians.

    A father of a mate of mine was a honorary fisheries officer (so warranted) for a good while. He was a hunter and fisherman himself and lived on the Kapiti coast. He gave it away after being first threatened with knives by 4 Maori who he stopped to inspect and then later, in another incident, threatened with a gun and told to FO.   I grew up in St Heliers, Auckland many years ago. I recall low tides when the local Maori from Ngati Whatua would come down to the beach and strip it of cockles. Huge sack load after sack load would go back to the cars.
  
  Most of the participants were overweight and certainly not in need of the excessive amount of seafood being extracted.
  
  Don’t suggest to me that Maori were conservationists. Laughable.

  The media portray Maori as better custodians of the Hauraki Gulf than the rest of us but this is a big lie.
  
  In the 1970’s NZ led the world by establishing the Goat Island no take marine reserve. Since then a couple of small reserves have been added so that only about 0.6% of the gulf is protected. In the meantime other countries have surged ahead of us in marine conservation.
  
  I understand that the big block on adding more reserves in the Gulf is the competing interests of iwi who each anticipate grabbing a chunk of the gulf via treaty settlements. There was a Stuff article on this about ten years ago but this has been disappeared.
  
  The only new initiatives coming out of the cogoverned Hauraki Gulf Forum and conservationists are for Maori customary rights or cogoverned zones. These are resisted by scientists and local communities.
  
  So, don’t swallow the bullshit about what great conservationist Maori are.

  Friend was out there 3 years ago. Had 3 snapper and was drifting and straylining. Drifted into a no fishing zone without knowing (how many check the GPS screen when fishing?) Anyway he got pinged for having 3 fish in a no fishing zone. They never seized the boat or rods, just an offence notice. Cost him $1200 for a simple mistake.

Christopher Luxon was on Newstalk ZB with Mike Hosking just before 7am this morning. He told Hosking that, if elected next year, National will cancel any extension to COVID powers that the current government grants themselves. He also said that we need to move on from COVID, and I doubt that many outside the PM’s Preferred Expert group would disagree with him.

    If there was a genuine plague like the Spanish Flu you wouldn’t have to batter people, arrest them, bully and coerce and smear them. People would figure it out pretty quickly and take the appropriate measures. Or they would be dead. Simple.

        Unfortunately, the injection of the mRNA spike producing products into the arm’s of much of the world’s population, during a pandemic, is anything but natural.

    She can take a flying jump, and stick her booster up her ass, I know people can get COVID twice, but I had it, and I have been around others with it well after I had it, immunity clearly does help, the second timers clearly are picking up a different variant.
    My mother got it shortly after going into the home, everyone at the home that had it previously not one had a re-infection, and that was 5 months later

      It was published in 2017, 2 years before covid appeared. How prescient was Baker in having published a paper about “locking down” a whole country during a pandemic? A concept never attempted in history before, and in fact, specifically advised against by none other than the WHO.
      
      But if you look at Baker’s background you can see how he evolved to this point. He is a career pandemicicst. He has been dreaming of the chance to play out his academic theories out in a real world environment. He is a narcissistic, idiotic megalomaniac. Just like Ardern.
      
      Baker has been funded previously by the CDC, Fauci’s corrupt outfit. This was during the Ebola “pandemic” in 2015 and previously had funding during the H1N1 “pandemic” of 2009. Amazingly these “pandemics” amounted to nothing. What a crushing disappointment for poor Michael.
      
      Baker is also a member of the corrupt WHO. An unelected body whose biggest funder last year was the Gates Foundation.
      
      His University, Otago, and their Infection Group, is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, also by GAVI, another Gates’ vaccine driven organisation.
      
      When I contacted Otago to ask them about their funding sources they denied receiving money from the Gates Foundation and GAVI. It was a little “white lie.”
      It transpires that the Infection Group is financially a standalone entity, operating under the Otago name. On the surface this gives them some legitimacy as an educational group.
      
      Incidentally, Ashley Verrall is also originally from the Otago Infection Group.
      
      It appears to be a similar setup to Hendy’s Te Pūnaha Matatini who are under the umbrella of Auckland University, but who operate financially independently (with dodgy funding sources including the Wellcome Trust) Hendy’s crowd also got $6 million of taxpayer money to produce the idiotic models that predicted idiotic outcomes that never eventuated.

    He’s also been pretty adamant that National will:
    * repeal and replace Three Waters
    * roll back the ban on new oil and gas exploration
    * oppose co-governace of public services
    * stop wasteful government spending
    
    Personally, I think he’s setting a pretty solid agenda so far, and there’s lots more to come.

Centralised control of the health system. A priority? No. Centralising all the polytechs around the country. A priority? Wouldn’t have thought so. Restructuring water services up and down the country. A priority? Maybe in some places, but not everywhere. …The first headline: ‘The worst we’ve ever seen it’: Kidscan’s support for hungry children grows as food prices hit 13-year high’. And the second headline: “Government expects to spend $6 million on contractors working on public media mega-merger”.

    The tax won’t be on measured methane emissions, it will be on modeled emissions. It will take little account of a myriad of factors that make up a farm’s real carbon balance because its intention is to make livestock farming untenable.

Rachel Smalley, now doing the 5am shift at Today FM, is generally considered to be one of those journos who is in tune with the Prime Minister. So her latest opinion piece makes for an interesting read:

OPINION: I don’t think Jacinda Ardern will seek a third term as Prime Minster.

I wrote a column late last week for NBR and gave the reasons why I believe she’ll stand down as leader before the next election. She could stand down before Christmas.

And over the weekend, my phone exploded. Do I have an inside word? What do I know? Did I get a leak from within the Beehive? No, none of those things.

However, it makes sense to me and here’s why.

In November last year, at the Labour Party conference, they pushed through a remit that means you no longer need a party-wide election process to appoint a new leader. All it takes is for two-thirds of the caucus to agree to the new leader, and it’s a thing. Done. So less than a year ago, Labour made it easy to replace Jacinda Ardern.

Also, Labour is tanking in the polls and if the party does win next year, it won’t be with a majority. They’ll have to bring the Greens, Te Pāti Māori and possibly New Zealand First into a coalition to get across the line.

And that’s just a shambles. It will be paralysis by analysis. New Zealand First will block everything unless it involves more free stuff for Boomers, Te Pāti Māori will realise life was a whole lot easier in a coalition with the Nats and ACT, and the Greens won’t agree to anything unless Labour throws in a free cycle-way or agrees to shoot dead another 200 dairy cows.

So, Ardern will be stuck at the helm and rendered impotent. Why would you want that job for another three years when you’ve led a single-party majority Government and got your own way every single day? You’d jump, right?

There’s more, if you follow the link above. Smalley predicts we’re in for a “hellish ride” economically, and says of the PM’s economic credentials “while Ardern is good at a number of things, I don’t think she’s good with the numbers.” That’s a very salient point.

So if it is a case of when-not-if as Smalley suggests, who is going to replace Jacinda Ardern. Would Labour countenance being led by two men, or might Kelvin Davis be sacrificed at the Altar of Equality so that someone like Megan Woods, Kiri Allan or Carmel Sepuloni could become deputy leader? Or will Labour, and in particular the Maori caucus go all in, and elect Nanaia Mahuta as their leader? As far as blokes go, the revelation yesterday that Michael Wood has known for a number of months the negative impact rail closure will have next year probably rules him out, much to the sorrow of opposition parties. Chris Hipkins is failing to stop the Labour – soft on crime narrative, and Grant Robertson probably has more important things to do just at the moment, with the economy predicted to tank next year.

A combination of Jacindamania and baubles got Labour into government in 2017, and Covid kept them there, in an even stronger position, in 2020. Can Labour win without Jacinda?

  Now, think about this. If Ardern resigns the leadership, she’ll stand down as an undefeated Prime Minister, and the only Prime Minister under MMP to ever win a majority government
  
  I recall a brief conversation with John Key after he resigned. He was very proud of the fact that he had been able to get out in his own time, and not after someone rolled him, or a coup was brewing.
  
  Ms Smalley is spot on: If Ardern jumps before she is pushed, she also will have left in her own time AND have been the leader of the first ever MMP government that didn’t need a support party.
  
  In years to come the latter may become what she is most remembered for.

  I’ve been paying attention throughout her whole career including before she became PM and I cannot think of a single thing that she is good at? I’m not even trying to be critical, it’s my honest observation. No matter how hard I try I can’t think of a thing that she has done well. She is an abject failure as a politician.

    What Ms Ardern has done well is appeal to a large sub-set of voters who became ardent admirers willing to support her at any cost.
    And still do.
    She can make mistakes, fudge policy, do nothing, have personal issues but still there are many – young and old, rich and poor, white and brown – who are willing to gloss over her inadequacies.
    For any politician, that is an achievement – ongoing.

It’s really very simple. If you are an unskilled Maori who dropped out of school at 13 or 14 you have few choices: 1) sign on the the dole, and sit at home watching Netflix on a (probably stolen) laptop computer; or 2) get a job at minimum wage – if you can get one. If you have MMM tatts all over your face, or an “attitude”, that is not going to be an option; or 3) become a prospect for the Mob with the promise of considerable wealth – even by objective standards – helping with meth deliveries and keeping the “bitches” who work in gang run brothels in line.

      The Maori did come in double (catamaran) canoes. They did have a basic navigation knowledge, learned by sailing between the islands. But they lost that knowledge over time. An early artist who visited here with Abel Tasman – I believe – painted a picture of a double hulled canoe still being used by Maori in the 17th. century.

      I would argue that you only want a favourable CV from council if you are looking at selling or leveraging off the value for finance for other plans. I’ve always been of the view to keep my CV as low as I can to keep rates bills in check.
      If the market values decrease in Auckland, but your CV doesn’t on paper and neither does your rates and if you need/want to sell then it’s all relative.

He has revisited the numbers and they show it was even lower than his previous assessment. Less than 0.1% for under 70 years of age.

A new study on Covid-19’s infection fatality rate (IFR) by age from a team led by Dr. John Ioannidis, the world’s most-cited physician, estimates that Covid’s IFR in the pre-vaccine era was under 0.1% for those under 70—even lower than previously believed.

This is prior to the rollout of the “miracle” “vaccine”. This is more evidence that the “vaccines” are increasing the likelihood of someone catching covid, though a less dangerous strain. What a wonder drug, that’s without mentioning the death and injury caused by the “vaccine” itself.

As for Ioannidis –

Dr. Ioannidis has been studying Covid’s IFR since early 2020, when he published his prescient article in Stat News titled “A fiasco in the making? As the coronavirus pandemic takes hold, we are making decisions without reliable data.”

He has proven to be completely correct in that assertion. All of the nightmare of the last few years was unwarranted.

  Indeed. She was more than happy to endorse Labour MP Paul Eagle, the independent mayoral candidate who came fourth (!!!), knowing there would be a by-election in Rongotai if Eagle won.

  PS: It’s going to be a right royal shitfight if Eagle is prevailed on to retire from Parliament next year, having wasted six years of his life on the back bench. I’m told by a reliable source that at least four Labour MP’s want the nomination, along with Labour councillor Fleur Fitzsimons, who stood down from council in anticipation of Eagle winning the mayoralty. Anyone like to guess who they are?

  he won by 6267 in 2020 against Tim Macindoe on over 80% turnout. Will be interesting to see how many of those vote for him again as a big FU to labour & Adern. By all accounts he is a good electorate MP.
