        Don’t talk crap, the first one was clearly an accident, the second one was a straight clash of heads, in fact the Irish guy brought his head down, and that’s what split the guys head open, infringe you say, twice I seen us penalised for the clean out, but when Fakatava came on he was taken out of play every time the ball came near him, but that was different

        Hard not to infringe when referees largely make it up as they go. How often does the word ‘accidental’ get mentioned, only red or yellow.
        They endlessly review tries and head contacts, yellow cards otherwise not at all.
        If an attacker lowers a shoulder which results in head contact – accident, defender the other way around, even when the attacker is controlling the contact.
        Bad contacts would be considerably reduced if attackers weren’t allowed to suddenly pop out from behind a player in an offside position.

        So two guys accidentally run into each other and the guy with the ball is innocent and the guy without the ball is guilty.
        
        What would happen if two guys ran into each and the same thing happened, but no one had the ball? Would both be sent off? Or both stay on?
        
        What if two players from the same team clashed heads? If it’s about safety then again both would need to be red carded, wouldn’t they?

        G – I didn’t write the rules and I’m not a referee.
        If you’re correct then the referee is obviously being paid off by somebody which could be true but almost certainly isn’t.
        I agree the current refereeing systems are over complicated and they detract from the game. But based on the current rules and how they are interpreted the red was justified and their should have been a second. I don’t agree with how the rules are being interpreted, but they are the current rules.
        It’s the same with VAR in football in the Premier League. Ask anyone who follows the round ball game how frustrating that is. Constant stops to review decisions, lines imposed on computer screens to check for offsides that come down to millimetres. It’s slowly being refined. But people who thought that bringing it in would make refereeing easier and better were wrong. It’s become even more controversial.
        
        So no, I wasn’t talking “crap”. I gave an opinion and you disagree with it. That’s a different thing entirely.

      We don’t Fozzie gone. Fozzie is great. We need him. He is doing an appalling job as coach. But NZers are so stupid that they get down about the All Blacks losing and this effects elections in NZ apparently (which is good because the negative bit goes to the government). So, we just need to suck this up. Fozzie is going to do a great job of assisting Cindy out of office. After that he can get fired and we can have NZ and the All Blacks back on track.

  We are hyper social primates – we become like those we associate with – the science is surprisingly robust on this. So even if we enter politics with the intention to be completely honest, it is probably impossible to maintain that intention. However as a society, we set a lot of (?superficial) importance on honesty. Therefore we need to maintain the untruth that we can enter politics and not lie. Not much of a discussion for you LC, but best I can manage with brevity 🙂

      Yes red, that is exactly what ja does, she refrains or ‘misinterpretes’ the question so she doesn’t have to lie. If she does that to deceive, I don’t call it honesty. What’s more, her statements often get reported as she intended us to hear, not what she actually said, but the misinterpretation is never corrected. So when everyone say ‘she said she never lies’ she never corrects that and clarifies that all she said was that she thought it was possible.

      It wasn’t reported anywhere which shows just how controlled the whole media is. That’s why it’s on Bitchute, it’s been banned on Youtube. There is no “misinformation” in the clip other than the Dutch PM blatantly lying. It was taken off Youtube because it is inconvenient truth. The same happened to the many hundreds of genuine experts who spoke out about the insane measures being imposed to address the covid story.

Before govts and kings etc merchants used to run the show . They would organise their own security , produce their own goods and do their own deals .
Agents /family or themselves would Travel vast distances by sea or land . Relationships built on trust .
They had control of regions as they literally produced and taught the means to survive and prosper
Why the hell fo we need a govt ? Especially this one
Seems to me they are trying to destroy business and success . Attack independence and strength , abhor an entrepreneur …… a worker is scum with zero rights in their eyes ( any one who doesn’t rely on the state ) , asset owners the devil incarnate
I’m convinced they are trying to destroy a free and democratic society , deliberately . Some in labour may not even know they are participating.
Ain’t gonna work , labour won’t win again for 24 years and will be forever tainted
The biggest threat to prosperity for is the climate madness .
It must end

        JBJ – has there ever been a time in history when a country had the “right” to invade another country? Serious question.
        I’ve never said the Russian’s have the right to do what they are doing. I’ve said all along it was entirely predictable due to extreme provocations from the US and their proxies in NATO. If that statement is wrong tell me how and why.
        
        Contrary to popular opinion among those who don’t like what I say about the conflict there, I’m not and never have been “pro” Putin, Russia or anything else in the ongoing war. I simply try and make sense of shit that makes little sense to me on a personal level. My simple analysis is that if the US and NATO hadn’t broken a promise after the fall of the Berlin wall and break up of the USSR, that they wouldn’t move NATO “one inch closer to Russia”, and if they hadn’t actively fomented the coup in 2014 in Ukraine with the clear intention of assimilating that country into NATO, then this wouldn’t have happened.
        
        If you want to discuss wrongful invasions of other countries then you really need to start with Uncle Sam. If we’re going to moralise about right and wrong then it would be nonsensical to start at Russia/Ukraine and work backwards. How about the fact the US still illegally occupies quarter of Syria?

        JBJ – I have no idea how spy services move goods other than what I see in James Bond movies. How the “deadly” nerve agent got there I have no idea, or even if it did. What I do know from reading about the “deadly” nerve agent and what it does is that if it was what it was purported to be, there would have been many, many deaths. Possibly hundreds. At the very least the Skripals.
        The idea that the wannabe assassins then threw the apparently sealed perfume bottle of this extremely toxic substance into a rubbish bin only to be found by someone who gave it to his heroin junkie girlfriend who opened it, killed herself, and nobody else died after presumably finding her dead body (and presumably the bottle of perfume) is beyond my ability to stretch credulity.

  Unfortunately the likes of Putin, as you correctly point out, is not averse to using star athletes as political propaganda.
  You may recall the state sponsored doping programmes that got their teams banned from the Olympics.
  There’s a similar issue with Saudi Arabia, which puts eye watering amounts of money into golf, F1, Newcastle United to look good while they execute people who bad mouth their leaders, suppress women etc.

  You’re off base with this one. Rybakina was indeed Russian-born and still has an apartment in Moscow I believe. However, she changed her allegiance to Kazakhstan in 2018, which – if she were doing that on the off-chance that 4 years later Russia would invade the Ukraine and that Wimbledon (alone, I believe) would ban Russian athletes – is exceedingly well played by her!
  
  She was apparently not considered good enough by the Russians, and has since turned out for Kazakhstan at the Olympics and in a number of other grand slams. Not a carpet-bagger at all, and any satisfaction Putin might feel is vicarious at best, and no more valid than New Zealand claiming Ben Stokes, or even Cameron Norrie who got to the semis.

    Hmm I understand your anger but many of these issues of freedom and personal choice can depend on your perspective. Abortion is freedom of choice for the woman but not for the baby. David seemed to think we should have freedom to chose vaccination but not freedom to infect others. I believe he put too much faith in the vaccine but if he believed the wuflu was deadly and that the vaccine was a savior, his actions are understandable. Those beliefs appear to have been unfounded.   krazy, on the subject of Russia I watched a walk through video of a large but quiet Moscow mall taken by a non Russian resident of that city. Needless to say many shops like Maccas and Nike have closed but surprisingly KFC and BK and some clothing places remain, albeit with few customers. A Russian owned Target-like store has seen more custom due to being fully stocked but the mall and carpark was almost empty. Interesting that no one wore masks.

I asked her out of 10 people, how many remove and how many keep them on. She said 9 out of 10 remove instantly and have a broad smile on their faces when doing so. Excellent, thought I. And also a fantastic cross section of NZ society. Baker has zero clue and really needs to butt out. He has no idea of impact to society, economy or mental health. Ditto the Supermarkets I use (3 different ones in different suburbs). Some shops still insist so unless I absolutely need something I walk out.
    
    Just stop wearing them – your body is a product of millions of years of coping with viruses, bacterium, parasites etc. It can cope with Covid 19 as well even if it kills a small percentage its not a species killer, and the risk for the vast majority of serious outcomes contracting Covid 19 is a number tending to zero…

Disease propagation and evolution would have been exceptionally slow in hunter-gatherer communities. It was a great night to stay home in front of a roaring fire and watch the rugby, the silly monocular commentators even promised us the series would be wrapped up with a game to spare! The All Blacks believed the hype – the game was already won, so they didn’t turn up. The result: a 23-12 loss, and even that score flattered the ‘abies (as, it seems they’re now known).

What went wrong? They started well – they won the effete haircut contest hands down, with not a single poseur among the Irish to challenge them. Ditto the tattoo contest (maybe 1 inked Irishman?) And while the haka was their special edition one (Aotearoa’s most famous cannibal slave-trading murderer’s own wardance) it seemed to curse the ‘abies rather than bring them luck. Maybe time to try something fresh?

But it’s hard to win (or even compete) when you’ve only got half the team on the paddock. And as one of our guests noticed…all of the 4 All Blacks who chose to sit out part or all of the match appeared to be “Labour supporters”. The dangerous or violent illegal acts were evidently concentrated more in one team, and in one part of the team. That behaviour must be cleaned out of the team if it is going to be able to win in the post-colonial game.

Pause for thought. In my opinion, Ian Foster is the worst All Black coach in my lifetime. The mediocrity of coaching, selection and play that he bought to the Waikato Chiefs is being mirrored now in the All Blacks. Not that it should be any surprise. Sam Cane is a decent player, but New Zealand is full of decent players, so how he continues to captain the All Blacks let alone get a game is difficult to understand. Jordie Barrett is another fine player. But he isn’t the best fullback in NZ, nor is he the best wing. Will Jordan is light years better at both positions yet didn’t start. Quinn Tupaea? Gus Sowakula? And Cane’s decision to send Savea off instead of Papalii was at best the decision of someone who has no idea, at worst, utter lunacy. Here’s a thought, there is a guy out there that has coached NZ under 20’s to the 2015 world championship, an NPC team for 3 years, and won the NPC 3 times. Further, he has coached in 101 Super Rugby matches since 2017, he has won 86 of them, and has won the Super comp 5 times in a row. This coach wins 85% of his super games. The current All Black coach managed to win 50% of his super games and managed one final in 7 years. After he resigned and went to the AB’s, the Chiefs won the Super comp and repeated the following year. And yet, here we are.

    But like Liverpools famous boot room eventually this system fails and needs a reset. Foster is to the All Blacks as Roy Evans was to LFC: nice guy and probably a reasonable coach but lacks the skills to be top 5% and being top 5% is what is required at the AB level from a coach. Plus lacks the ruthlessness to make tough decisions

      Pyper is a fine referee G, and was only refereeing the rules that World Rugby have put before him. I don’t disagree that the head clash rule is pathetic, but Pyper did exactly what they have been told to do. I thought he had a pretty good game.         I thought Peyper was inconsistent. He twice penalised the All Blacks for cleaning out beyond the breakdown yet Ireland did that at least three times I saw without being penalised. He and the TMP missed a high shot by James Lowe on Jordie Barrett, and early in the second half a ball-carrying Peter O’Mahoney appeared to make direct contact with the shoulder to Beauden Barrett’s head. He also let too many players get in his face, including both captains, and should have told them to bugger off.

    Nick, Jordie Barrett, whilst being a brilliant rugby player, isn’t a patch on Jordan, or Reece or Fainga’anuku at fullback or wing (and is not as good at fullback as his brother). He is just not the best player (and probably not the second best player either!) in any of those positions. Therefore, he shouldn’t be in the team. Foster has already left Reece out in the past, that was a blunder, but wouldn’t surprise if he did it again, because he doesn’t appear to have any idea, and that is historical.

      Let’s agree to disagree wrt J Barrett. IMO, if Sevu Reece hadn’t grabbed that run-away try in the first test when he did, the result would have been different. The whole team was down on their luck ATT but from then on, they believed in themselves and the result spoke heaps.
      From the first send-off last night, the ABs seemed to catch Warriors (League Team) Disease (no one knew what to do and they went to sleep).

    Sure, Ivan Vodanovich won’t go down as a great, but was he worse that that other Waikato star, John Mitchell? And Vodanovich has not coached at high level before he was given the All Blacks. And remember, the 1970 tour to South Africa after which he lost the coaching job, had such luminary players as Neil Thimbleby, Gerald Kember, Buff Milner and Ron Urlich.         Yes, they could, and should have. As it was, it was an uncontested scrum, because Aiden Ross was playing out of position at tighthead. So bringing Ross on was a blunder that cost the All Blacks one of their most influential players for 50 minutes. Cane should have known that.

The desired outcome is to force up wages It is also behind the shortage of tenants resulting in lower rents.
So the government of kindness is happy to let fruit rot, encourage businesses to go bust and landlords to go bankrupt as a substitute for sound economic policy.
I would not be surprised if the Maori caucus was also behind this as it is well known that Maori extremists hate immigration. It increases their minority status.

      This pathological focus on “increased economic activity” at any cost is a disaster. The idea that a country is just an economic zone is catastrophic for any social cohesion and the maintenance of a sound society.
      
      The main point of immigration is to lower wages and to make/keep houses more expensive. Increasingly, young people cannot earn enough to buy an over-priced house to raise a family in. In other words, in addition to irreparably altering the social fabric, it is good for immigrants and for big corporations, not so much everyone else.
      
      The anti-White racists love it for the demographic changes it brings, Big Business, and the banks love it for the money it gives them, while the idiotic ideological teens and liberals love it because it feels good.

      Intelligent immigration does, but we have slipped in GDP per capita during the spell when we had the highest immigration of any developed country.
      
      Selling undergraduate courses by throwing in residency doesn’t help an economy, nor do flake IT courses for folk who became pizza deliverers, whiteware sales staff, and door-to-door electricity sellers.
      
      With New Zealand’s poor economic performance (and rising brown racism) the attraction for lower-skill immigrants, and perhaps for higher-skill immigrants, is visa-free entry to Australia that comes with NZ residency.
      
      So in effect, our migrant education mills sell back door entry to Australia.

    Yes….but that small minority that ruled Apartheid South Africa (even though that was wrong), we’re organised, educated, motivated etc. Same doesn’t apply here so it will never succeed here. Black South Africans in a much worse position economically than Maori are here and they have made a total disaster of their own country. So just wanting to do things doesn’t mean you can or will. Same applies in NZ. Black South Africans were the overwhelming majority, they failed. Maori are the overwhelming minority. The plans that the <1% of Maori have for the country (allegedly) and are going to fail…….and take Maori backwards too most likely.

      Say what you want about the morality of apartheid, but apartheid-era South Africa was a highly-developed, orderly and prosperous society. The only such country in Sub-Saharan Africa, except Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), also run by Europeans. Once apartheid ended and the ANC took over, it rapidly descended into the Third World, like the rest of Africa. Once Rhodesia became Zimbabwe, the same thing happened.
      
      We are told that “POC underachieve because they are systematically oppressed.” Yet, in these two real-world examples, POC were given full charge over their respective countries and both nations quickly disintegrated, and disintegrated to a level common to other African nations, also wherein the POC citizens are not oppressed by White people.
      
      Doesn’t this destroy the “POC failure due to systemic racism” doctrine out of the water on empirical grounds? It doesn’t seem to matter who politically dominates in the society (i.e. non-POC or POC), the outcome seems to be sub-optimal (and in fact, generally better when POC are not in charge).

        I was posted there for three years pre-Ghaddafi murder and the Jamahiriyah was a rare example of a benevolent dictatorship at work.
        
        PS And putting aside the fact that the Boers settled and lived in South Africa for many generations before the Zulus etc invaded he area, Aparthheid is still practiced in SA.
        
        But by using an ethnic name for it, the local rulers have validated the similarity, for self-serving cultural reasons.

    Bringing in like people is one thing, but the ideological focus is on un-like people. If you change the parts, you necessarily change the whole. Neo-liberalism is an artificial anti-human ideology that treats people as atomised, interchangeable economic units and it treats nations (i.e. peoples homes) as ripe for profit-driven exploitation, at any cost. I’d much rather have a lower population with lower GDP and a cohesive coherent society, than live in a polyglot melange with higher GDP and more attractive profits. The latter is the outcome of a strictly materialist worldview bereft of intangible values.

      Training is now an industry in itself. Ticket clippers abound, So the polytechs pad pad pad the course. So three years and a student loan.
      Hospitals could offer night school and a paid nurse assistant job in the day. Or 20 hours a week of each.
      There are lots of things that could be done. But this disorganised industry sits on it’s butt.

  Rocky, lower rents? Not in my places. They’ve been steadily increasing with the last increase a month ago. In terms of a labour shortage making higher wages, of course the economics of this are true, but the reality is that some businesses will always be losing out and not have employees. And of course, has anyone heard of a wage|price spiral? I doubt Ardern or Robertson has, since they crafted policy that has led to rampant inflation. Initially they denied their policies would cause inflation, then, when that ineptitude was crystalised, they claimed that any inflation would be transitory (following Yellen in the States same statement), which of course, as pretty much any person with half a brain knew, was nonsense. When that didn’t pan out, they pivoted to “its all inflation from overseas”. As Homer Simpson once said, doh. Hmm, I wonder if Robertson is actually Homer Simpson? Or is that a doing a disservice to Homer?

We are living through a cultural war and we need to start to call it for what it is.

The activists are winning, they gaslight the masses into silence and acquiescence. They have transformed the minds of the youth by the daily renewing of their minds with poison. What was once black is now white, what was once wrong is now right. The moral code has been redefined and the immoral now hold the moral high ground.

So why do we pretend that we are all civilised and play nice with them? No-one ever won the war by appeasement and kindness. Yet that is the approach most NZers are taking to the culture war.

Ideas how we combat this? It’s not by putting National and Act into power. Yes they will slow the decline but will do nothing to reverse it. While the parties on the left and right differ in approach to economics they have very similar immoral codes.

I sincerely believe the only way we stop our societies complete disintegration is by God working a change of heart in the people of NZ. But I fear NZers current love of hubris and arrogant belief that they are morally superior to God means this is not going to be a painless process.

The only thing holding society together are the dwindling remnants of what was once a religious society, either explicitly or implicitly. Examine history, and a common trait of all fallen societies is the rejection of religion, whatever form it may take. Atheism is the historical exception, not the rule, and it always shows up in the end-stages.
    
    You can believe or disbelieve anything you want, but why do you think the radicals are always so openly hostile to Christianity? Because unlike you, they understand how transcendent ideals act as a social cement and are directly opposed to their own tenets. So they have to get rid of it.

  Peter Hitchens has often said that the only way to save Britain is the complete destruction of the Conservative Party. The same applies here: National are far too indistinct from the left because they are too scared to be, so no change of course is possible with them. They are really just a corporate money-making entity with no interest in anything other than having a role in the political milieu. They cannot rock the boat so they are an impediment to any substantive change, sucking-up resources and votes in a perpetual cycle of never changing anything. I will never vote for any of the major parties again, unless and until I have a good reason to.

I’m going to submit on 3 waters today. What a bloody steal of a Council’s assets that is.
3 waters will be just like Waka Kotahi, a centralised agency which doesn’t fix the State highways properly. Around our way even some of the recent resealing has deteriorated to the extent that cars are dropping into potholes and damaging their tyres and wheels and there is one really huge pothole on a dangerous corner that hasn’t been attended to for days and days.

TV1 did a great story on Matthew Tutaki being appointed to be Director of the anti Suicide office.
Namely: a. That much of his CV is a fabrication and 2. that he had to return $60,000 to Oranga Tamiriki he overcharged. (Others were doing it as well)
That was Monday (4th) and Tuesday.
It seems very strange no other major media has continued with the story.

        Sri Lanka had to hand over the port and 15,000 surrounding acres to China for 99 years from 2018 because Sri Lanka couldn’t meet payments on the Chinese loan for the project. The cost to Sri Lanka was well over $US1 billion.
        
        Sri Lanka’s foreign debt in the first quarter of this year was about $US50.59 billion. China is just third biggest of Sri Lanka’s creditors. It’s after Japan and the Asian Development Bank. Sri Lanka’s foreign currency reserves ran out in April.

Any investigation (for all of the little good it would do) should encompass all who comprise the House of Representatives, not just the executive branch, given the level of unanimity and monolithic group-think exhibited precisely at a time when contrary viewpoints and deep analysis of the costs and benefits was necessary.
  
  What is the point of ACT being the putative party of liberty when they were largely complicit in the biggest assault on liberty the world has ever seen? It’s very easy to be for liberty when being for liberty costs you nothing, but a lot harder when it actually counts in very tangible ways. One outcome of the debacle has been a complete loss of confidence in politicians and the political system, to the extent that it is clear that we are not a sovereign nation and that the appearance of a functioning democracy is a mere sham, amounting to an ongoing and still developing constitutional crisis.

There was nothing they could do.

Will Health NZ become like Waka Kotahi or even worse Oranga Tamariki, which turns off most readers from reading a word further?

Name the Maori Health Authority whatever the hell they want, but leave “Health New Zealand” so it can be recognised by the vast majority who want to know about it.

They tried out the furniture and swam in the pool.

Data on a billion chinese citizens has been accidentally leaked by Shanghai police. Oops.

Most interesting thing about it is that it reveals true Chinese demographics – they have been officially lying about birth rates for decades when really they are falling into population collapse, their population is falling, their working age population is falling, and their child bearing population is plummeting precipitously. Only about 1/3rd as many kids being born as 50 year olds.
