Trump loses big in his Georgia revenge primary
Donald Trump endorsed primary challengers to the Governor, Secretary of State and Attorney-General of Georgia. These endorsements were not over policy. They were because the three office holders refused to break the law and steal the election for Trump. Trump wanted to show that anyone who defies him will lose their job, so that in 2024 Republican state office holders will try and steal the election for him.
But he failed big time. He definitely still has huge influence with his endorsements in open races, but his revenge in Georgia fall flat massively. Fox News has the results:
- Governor Brian Kemp beat David Perdue by a massive 51.9% margin
- Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger beat Jody Hice by a huge 18.9% margin
- Attorney General Chris Carr beat John Gordon by a massive 47.6% margin
This is good news. No one should lose their job as punishment for not overthrowing an election result their party doesn’t like.
