No criticism of any Labour Minister over the Rotorua debacle. They get a free ride.

I dont hold any candles for Luxon but this degree of bias is way beyond the pail. It is naked abuse.

  Luxon is our only hope, he will be there at the election, so it’s either him or a return of absent Ardern for PM, we have two choices. Hooten has done a hit piece behind paywall as well, clearly he has had instructions, the utter failings and neglect and corruption seen this week alone should see the media calling him the golden one.
  If anyone thinks that his refusal to answer questions about wasted money, and tell us what holiday he would drop, when he already explained it was too late now it’s law means he can’t be PM only needs to compare him with the utterly useless PM.
  Red Claire let it slip that Labours internal polls were Nats leading for the first time, and the fact Newshub has not released their poll that was too be released this week only have to think about that yo know why the hit jobs.

    Robertson will not be the Leader either – he does not fit in with the Union’s perception.

  Chris is making progress – he used to be in the ‘ignore’ stage. Now he is in the ‘laugh’ stage end entering the ‘fight’ stage. At least ‘laugh’ and ‘fight’ are better than ‘ignore’ which was what Chris was facing.

  It’s amazing that the media still seems to believe in their absolute power in controlling the flow of information. If they continue to ignore this government’s failures and attack the opposition then all they are actually doing is confirming their irrelevance. Self preservation would be better served by doing their job rather then trying to protect their pay master. No amount of censorship by omission will save them from reality.     I haven’t seen any evidence of that. Luxon’s appointment has energised the National Party, he’s been drawing good crowds wherever he speaks, and party membership is on the way up again. We’re seeing people who resigned from the party two-three years ago rejoining, and in good numbers.
    
    Candidate selection will start around September, and there are very good numbers of people coming out of the woodwork to register their interest. That Paula Bennett was able to raise $1.8m from corporate donors in just a couple of weeks suggests those with the chequebooks see National as a very strong prospect to govern after 2023.

  It’s fair to point out a potential Prime Minister or any other parliamentarian flip-flopping on statements. I think it has been also fair to point out the lack of comparison between him and JK in terms of Parliamentary time before becoming a leader, it’s apparent that he’s in danger of walking off a cliff because of his lack of experience and willingness to speak off the cuff.       GPs and Medical Centres are not obliged to opt into the zero-fees scheme for under 14s.
      Which practices offer zero fees visits to children aged 13 and under?
      General practices can decide whether they provide zero fee visits for children aged 13 and under. Most practices are providing zero fee visits for their enrolled patients. Practices that opt in receive an additional subsidy from the Government.
      
      If your regular practice doesn’t offer zero fee care to children aged 13 and under, you can choose to enrol with another practice that does.

Anyone who makes a serious amount of money, PAYS heavy hitting tax accountants to ensure their taxes are squared away according to the tax legislation.
  Paying a “fair share” is just Labour speak for “we want more from them than they are already paying”. National should ask a parliamentary question about how much each Labour MP has made in voluntary tax payments to the IRD in the last year. After all, if they are concerned about not collecting enough tax, they should bloody well pay more themselves!

Lead ‘stories’ on RNZ’s Concert’s 8.00 am news this morning were simply opinion/ advocacy pieces: one telling us that we should sympathise with children who commit ram raids, seeing their actions as a cry for help, and another telling us that mask exemptions are too easy to get as masks save lives.

The only good thing about RNZ’s propaganda ‘news’ broadcasts on RNZ Concert is that they are mercifully shorter than hithertofore. I look forward to the day that they are abandoned altogether.

  Any free and open debate around the efficacy of masks would shred any claims that they provide any meaningful protection. It’s just another example of how heavily the narrative is controlled in NZ by Ardern and her government via the poodle shills in the mainstream media.
  The link from Maggie Pie above shows Ardern pointing out clearly that there is no need for masks. They are nothing more than virtue signaling and a visual sign of obedience to she who must be obeyed. There is plenty of other recorded evidence of Baker and others clearly stating that masks do nothing to prevent the spread of an airborne virus. Now there is empirical evidence from around the globe clearly showing this to be true. No more models needed from wannabe “experts”.
  
  Ardern is a very petty tyrant who is losing the plot more and more as each week passes and her ineptitude, lies, deception and underlying nasty streak is exposed for more people to see.

    I have a mask exemption. These days the only places I’m being (politely) challenged are Wellington CC premises, including a little pop up temporary library in the CBD, maybe 20 people there including staff at the time. Thing is these premises have security staff, assume covering all the opening hours. So that those ferals sans masks can be brought to heel.
    
    Not to worry, ratepayers will happily pay up.
    
    The security staff don’t socially distance either when (politely) enquiring, I guess they are relying on their mask to keep them safe. What’s wrong with this picture?

  If your kids are doing ram raids, there are only two reasons:

      Most of us accept our duty and responsibility to educate, feed and support our kids. It is hard for us to comprehend that many do not, instead seeing their kids as liabilities or as resources (more benefits, child minding, etc).
      
      With such different value sets it is no surprise to me that many people do not reciprocate kindness with kindness, but instead see it as weakness to be exploited. When the cops start becoming lighter, many this is an opportunity to become more criminally active.

        Our liberal society relies upon good morale citizens or alternatively strong disincentives via the authorities response and ultimately the justice system. Sadly we have weak authorities and judiciary and so this only serves to further incentivise crime. I fear it will get a whole lot worse before it gets better in NZ. For those questioning that remark, let’s see if NZ doesn’t next graduate to brazen gang smash and grabs in the middle of the working day (as seen in many Democrat US cities).

Had to larf last night…went up to NW after dinner to do the shop.
Come to checkout, and found myself waiting behind a couple of older gay guys unloading their stuff onto the conveyor. And instead of wearing normal cloth masks, they were both had those head-mounted ‘Plastic Face Shields’ 😀

The funniest thing was…. they got into an argument over how the bill should be divided. They were screaming at each so loudly, that both their Shields fogged up with spit!

It was a real treat to watch. I guess you had to be there. LOL!!

  Yeah seen those. It is nuts. Those plastic face shields are designed to protect folk like dentists from body fluid spatter from patients to the eyes, nose and mouth of the dentist.
  
  But think about it. They are useless at preventing the person wearing the shield from transmitting a virus because they have this huge air gap at the bottom of the shield.

  I was disappointed they didn’t look into his necrophilia self admissions, and the amount of glass eyes that he adorned himself with, which he claimed to take from corpses while doing his hospital work.
  A really odd looking person, and sounds like away from the camera he could be even more creepy and make outrageous statements.
  That he so often joked about young girls and being on the prowl to the camera…the clues were there.
  Yet I have to remember the British love of a tinge of smut in humour, and double entendres and such, so without any personal knowledge it might have come across harmless at the time.
  Yet with all we know now, it was such a shame he didnt live long enough to see his crimes exposed.
  
  Some good docs on NetFlix. I enjoyed the John Wayne Gacy one as well, and in the context of Saville – he was a monster who didnt just get his jollies but actually tortured people and teased them as part of getting his jollies (before killing them). Again the documentary didn’t even mention all the worst stuff.

  One of the most charismatic teachers at my old High School was my 3rd -4th form Art teacher. Everyone liked him…although 3 of our 3rd form class monitors (small, clever boys) seemed to fall out with him near the end of the year.
  
  Years later I read that he had been convicted of abusing boys and was on the deregistered list.
  
  Seems after leaving WHS he had moved from school to school for a while.
  
  My best school mate is a very good landscape artist; she reckons he was a fine Art teacher.

Yes, we have the dumbest government ever.

The discussion document on regulations for shooting clubs and ranges proposes that under-16’s not be allowed to participate in club-organised competitive shooting activities.

Apparently, letting under 16’s compete “risks giving mixed signals to young people and could lead to an increase in the number of underage participants”.

I wonder how many under-16’s are currently shooting competitively who don’t have family already involved in the sport? And how many such young people have gone on to commit crimes with guns?

  Many moons ago I was down in the gully shooting rats with a slug rifle – aged 7. Move up to a .22 at about 12. No gun clubs needed, safety came from common sense.
  Did I go on to commit crimes?

    Some years back in some schools the first week in the first term was given up to Cadets training. Army Navy and air cadets.
    That school had an armoury comprising Lee Enfield rifles , Bren guns, Vickers machine guns and even mortars .
    The cadets trained on all these weapons and some other more modern examples.They were allowed to fire them under strict supervision on the appropriate ranges.
    The average age of students to start this compulsory training was approximately 13!
    This was in the days when firearms misuse , and murders were very rare in NZ.

Those who dared to speak out against them were silenced and falsely accused of ‘misinformation’ while the public fell victim to relentless propaganda. The absurdity of these suppressions lies in the fact that much of what was regarded as ‘misinformation’ a year ago – is now accepted as truth by those who encouraged such sanctions.

Throughout history, the wrong-doers were never those who spoke their truth at great personal cost. The wrong-doers were always those motivated to suppress the truth. What do they have to hide? What do they have to gain? How long should they be allowed to walk free without being questioned?”

My partner’s mum is furious about the whole thing. See’s it as nothing more than an attempt to turn the country’s Water over to Maori ownership and control.
She was saying she can’t ever recall having heard of one incidence in the last 100 years or more, where anyone in Auckland had ever been poisoned, or even gotten sick, drinking the local water supply.

In fact the only time she ever came across it, was when reading a book by Keith Sinclair about the History of the Maori Wars.
Apparently, the Ngati Whatua used to shit in the river upstream from the Ngati Paoa…..she thought it was probably an early form of germ-warfare.

  There seems to be this attitude that having a 50% partnership will make things better. Where is the evidence of this? How will this in any way make our water management better? I only see another really thick layer of bureaucracy coming. Does anyone remember when the Waikato expressway was being built? There was a section of the road, just north of Huntly, where a taniwha lived and local iwi had a problem with the expressway taking this route. Of course, after the payment of 1.3 million and a heap of prayers, the local iwi convinced it to move off down the river somewhere else. We mock westerners about sky fairies yet dole out millions to Moari for the same thing and all for nothing. I feel it’s time to treat moari cultural beleifs with the same disdain we treat Christianity. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. If your going to go on about your imaginary sky fairies piss off whatever that belief is.

Student loans – recent studies (and all that other non proof shit) that the powers that be want the Parents (of those kids who have student loans) to take out a sort of reverse mortgage, to get the loan finalised. Kids get less when the Parents pass on.
The Govt wants money that would have been bequeathed to the children, NOW!!!

If an equally needy asian and maori family require a cheap house… the maori gets priority for the sole reason that they are maori. Even if the Asian family has greater need for the house.

DPF talks about equal suffrage, surely equal rights are just as important, because that disappeared a long time ago.

This country is pretty much racist hell hole… especially for non-maori in need.
