  COVID has been with us for 2 years. Despite that, some 5 million NZers haven’t caught it. A reasonable person would conclude that it’s not so easy to catch. 🙂 Hence these draconian rules are simply not necessary.

    A reasonable person who has read anything about Omicron from S Africa , England and Europe knows that almost everyone may well catch it but they will be not much more sick than if they had a cold about. The danger to the country will be the number being compelled to isolate as close contacts. 15 Omicron infections at 1 stage and almost 2000 isolated.!

      I doubt everyone will get a serious version of it. The UK estimates that as of end of Dec (pre-omicron) only 40% of the population had ever had covid. Omicron is much more infectious. So in the last two months that would have increased a bit. But it’s already changed into Omicron B. Even more infectious and less pathogenic than Omicron A. So some will get Omicron. And some will get covid this winter which is increasingly looking like a 3 day cold. So get rid of the stupid mandates on the unvaccinated because it’s the vaccinated that are catching Omicron.

        My 8 year old niece in the UK does a saliva test, herself, every morning before she goes to School. I am not allowed to get one except prior to travelling, even then it is from a pharmacy worker in full protective gear, minutes before they were able to sell me Panadol face to face.

        Even then it is not to be used for screening for covid, only to test to see if someone can come back to work.

        Now to be fair, I am not “vaccinated” why as the “Vaccine” if you can even call it a “vaccine” obviously does not work as advertised. The evidence is right there in front of your face, 1 dose, a 2nd dose, now a 3rd dose was 6 then 5 now 4 Months later, and still it is carried in by the vaccinated. Really are you serious. Try not to laugh.
        
        Vaccine we have a vaccine (Laugh out loud now). Vaccine we have a vaccine, it doesn’t work (Laugh out loud now). We told them that if they take the vaccine we would let them be free again. They believed us. (Laugh out loud now).
        
        The adverse reactions to the vaccine are very real, from mild to serious, I do not know anybody that has had covid, but I know many who have had a reaction to the vaccine, some very serious and 1 suspected death.
        
        Lets have a closer look at what has worked around the World, like say Sweden, who learned to live with covid and life went on, but we do not hear anything in our media about that.
        
        Why is that???????????
        
        Jacinda was very happy to announce that we were going down the apartheid, segregation path creating a 2nd class Citizen with restrictions.
        
        Why because the vaccinated only wanted to associate with other vaccinated, strange my family still associate with me. Well not all. Unvaccinated are Infectious, was the word, and people believe that nonsense.
        
        Long after covid is just a stain in the history books. I will never ever forget the people who supported this immoral abhorrent apartheid.
        
        I will test myself. I certainly wont be lining up for a test.

    The transmission rate has gone up a lot with Omicron. It’s not 2020 SARS-CoV-2 any more.
    
    The draconian rules are no longer warranted because the virus is out of control and can’t be “stamped out”.

      I suspect no one thinks it can be stamped out, but that the governments thinking is (regardless of what is said) that they want to try and slow it’s spread in the community to avoid suddenly big numbers and consequences – I think they want to ‘ease into’ living with it and that they’re willing to pay quite a lot hoping for that to be a more, rather than less, gentle experience.

    Leo is bang on point and clearly doesn’t get his data from ‘the sole source of science’ our ever benevolent government. To bring you up to speed, international medical data demonstrates Omicron is going through (infecting) an entire population in approximately 30-60 days. Dr John Campbell explains it here in his almost daily YouTube update, and incidentally he always cites medical data used in his analysis.
    Based on Leo’s common sense and data driven business like approach I would vote for his as PM let alone MoA.

Leo Molloy makes a lot of sense in this video.

Its obvious Jacinda and her mates are making up the rules on the spot with no rational or logical thought behind them as Leo points out.

In fact, if you dig a bit deeper into these rules — they are quite dark.

If you get symptoms of covid you and your contacts suffer financially from loss or reduced income from time off work and if you don’t get your symptoms checked through a covid test and you are found out later to have covid you can get heavy fines.

This is dark thinking from our PM.

As for Ashley Bloomfield — as a medical doctor who has taken that famous doctors oaf to do all medically to help the sick without political interference —sad to say he is now a stooge for Jacinda and the govts agenda to politically and socially change the whole fabric of NZ society.

Well 20% of the staff at my firm have left for overseas, there’s more going to announce their resignations shortly and I will leave soon too. How it will stay afloat with the talent leaving, is anyone’s guess.

I feel sorry for those who remain in New Zealand — the consequences of this mismanagement will be grim.

Already I know working families don’t know how they can afford their groceries due to inflation.

Part of me feels sorry for them, but the other part feels that this is New Zealander’s comeuppance for thinking that money just magically appears in the bank accounts and never asking the politicians “how are we paying for this?”.

Within the next 12 months, I predict Ardern to be despised like no other politician in living memory.

It is refreshing to see pragmatism applied here. Interesting also how all seem so wedded to the covid mythology. Ardern and her PR people have so captured the imagination that everyone who wishes to wield any influence have to ‘bend teh knee’ in some regard or other.

And many are still starry-eyed, or terrified, and unwilling to apply their frontal cortexes to this issue.

But the real storm will be when people realise it was a fabricated narrative and they have been needlessly sacrificed on a bonfire of vanities.

Then they will be forced to come to the conclusion they have been needlessy terrorised.

And that Ardern is a benign Terrorist.

Leo Molloy fancies himself as an expert in matters virological, epidemiological, and pretty much everything else, especially if it is Covid-related, and was an early adopter of vax passports for entry to his premises. Even went to the extreme of identifying the vaxxed/unvaxxed in his employ with different coloured T shirts. The unclean were to have no interface with customers and could do some sort of outside work. Still kept them employed I suppose. So Molloy bought into the whole narrative, officiously implemented government’s divisive two tier system and now not happy with Ardern’s “draconian rules” that are “just not going to work”. Leo is such a know-all, how did he not see this coming?
Crybaby Leo Molloy has been the most strident advocate of jab mandates and vax passports. The fact that he is now hurting with other pro-jab/pro-vaxpass hospitality owners now finding a lack of customers. You reap what you sow.

  When you are a state leader you consult experts but don’t rely on them. You have to be able to articulate what your position is and why. It has to be in your own words. Otherwise you just leave the big ambiguous decisions to the experts.
  Doing that is a disaster. Leo is spot on in this regard. Impressive.
  As George Clemenceau (who knew a lot about making difficult decisions) said; “war is too important to leave to the generals”.

  Interesting. This puts his latest self-serving effort in a different light, doesn’t it? Molloy sits down here with the MSM and colludes with them to help propagate the notion of vaccination and vaccine passports being necessary, and that segregation of society is a good thing (obviously with the underlying motivation of getting the numbers of vaxxed up, regardless of the lack of justification, just so he can reopen his business sooner), and now has a moan about how much it will cost him due to the isolation requirements. I couldn’t care less if his of any other business goes belly up given his or their enthusiasm for vaccination apartheid.

Yet for months it seemed like we were on the rough end of a losing battle. I am feeling like Jon Snow in the Battle of the Bastards as he arises from the pile of bodies.
  There is much left to fight but us unjabbed have had a win. When they are scapping amongst themselves they might leave us alone.

    I had a read and it seems entirely reasonable to discuss vaccine injuries and adverse events. They have been discussed many times on Kiwiblog.
    
    Talking about the potential for group think to quash or hide unpleasant reality for a social good is hardly a new thing, blimey.
    
    With the top blown off vaccination, boosters et al by Omicron, this story might get some legs if there are some whistleblowers out there

    The Daily Telegraph article is actually entitled “Saint Jacinda has made controlling covid a myopic moral mission, with no end in sight”
    It’s a fair reflection of our domestic situation, and I can’t see why it was deleted by the moderator.
    
    Just Google the title and it will come up, but it’s paywalled (you can get a free trial)

As was predicted late last year, the Min. of Health is already struggling to cope with processing contact tracing data for the small number of covid cases that are in public now. If the number of cases grow to levels predicted by statistical models, they’ll have no show of keeping up.

Amongst the many salient points Leo made, one resonated very strongly with me.
I was up in Auckland last weekend and walking down Queen Street I was staggered how it had gone backwards. So many empty shop spaces, so many people who were clearly mentally unwell, so many businesses who looked like they were on their last legs.
That’s Leos point – the CBD has been destroyed. I wonder if Jacinda ever visits the CBD and realises that the never ending lockdowns are destroying a city. Or would she be indifferent – after all its only businesses and they are all stinking rich!!

One minor correction to Leo’s take on business.
He says J doesn’t like biz? – I think they’re terrified of business because pragmatic thinking and planning shows up their cabinet as totally bereft of talent.

I think Leo is understating the case: If everyone who gets it has to isolate for “a minimum of 14 days” according to the government, and with Omicron being so transmissible , it’s not hard to see that massive absenteeism will result in the net couple of months. Not just the hospitality industry. Entire organizations may be shut down and the result will be major disruption.
I anticipate they’ll walk back those rules once its apparent what’s happening.

I’m currently at a four star hotel. The “red light” rules are insane. No cooked breakfast, just toast that would have take a minute for me to make has taken over 30 minutes because I must remain seated while someone does it for me. Mask on to stand, off when seated, on again to leave. If the hospitality industry was suffering already, this insanity will end it all for many. Cindy is welcome to her clown world, just leave me out of it.

I remember when Leo was a top jockey riding out of the Harry Long stable at Te Rapa. He knew the way to the winning post then so I hope he does just as well in the Auckland Mayoralty.
