Chu vs McLellan
Port Hills is going to be very interesting.
I have no doubt Ruth Dyson would hold the seat if she continued, even on the new boundaries.
But Labour’s candidate is Vice-President Tracey McLellan, best known for being on the panel that dismissed all the complaints against a staffer in Jacinda Ardern’s office. She also doesn’t live in the electorate.
National’s candidate is Catherine Chu who won election to the Christchurch City Council with two and a half times as many votes as the Labour candidate. Chu is also a financial advisor. She has shown she knows how to campaign well and win.
