Someone, near here, recently wrote a fictional fable called ‘the noose tightens’
Now it seems the real noose is tightening on Barry the Kenyan’s weaponised dirty cop brigade.

Federal indictments are coming and it is going to be a cold cold northern winter for Comey, McCabe, Brennan, Clapper, Strokz/Page, Ohr (x2) and Steele.

      My suspicions are that Trump has been gentlemanly to a former contender–good manners. The expectation is reciprocity: Hillary should retire gracefully and she may be accorded a public position later.
      The risk now in this battle is on speaking out again and having the truce called off.
      History shows that a a silent opponent may be be let alone to live but a contrary movement will end their days.

    Baker has flipped because he’s been caught illegally releasing documents/transcripts to a Washington Post reporter (Ignatious)
    Also new text messages released by Flynn’s lawyer Ms Sidney Powell reveal that Lisa Page and Peter Strzok edited Flynn’s 302 form which recorded the FBI agents notes of their interview with Flynn and she essentially fabricated evidence making it look like Flynn lied to the FBI, when he didn’t.     But MrTips @8.56 am it is of greater concern when we see this quote from the Fat Controller: “In a statement, Mr Robertson defended his officials’ behaviour, saying their approach was “common practice” at that stage of the policy-making process.” Reading between the lines we gather that any affirmative advise from Treasury is trumpeted loudly while any negative advise is gagged. It begs the question as to how much this so called “common practice” is being exercised and what else are not being seen without a OIA request being made?

Does this “Economic Advisor” draw pretty pictures using crayons for Robbo to understand what Treasury are telling the Minister or something? Or does the “Economic Advisor” have the task of “selling” the COL”s ridiculous economic postures (policies) back to Treasury to implement (when Treasury officials stop laughing of course)?

So “farming” is, by 2025, to establish a system for defining and pricing emissions for penalties for not actually eliminating emissions they can define.

And they have until 2023 to show they are doing the defining and costing or they will from 2025 be charged 5% of those costings (if they are done, one assumes)

And in between there will be two Elections to possibly change the Government.
What could go wrong?

  So the COL want to implement more compliance on farmers – how on earth do farmers have time to farm when they are going to be spending more and more time “filling out forms” and attending courses on understanding yet more “useless regulations” and wandering around km’s of paddocks with a clipboard measuring and noting down how much each cow or sheep is pooing and weeing?

    I live on a farm – not of the intensively grazed category.
    It is big.
    It has a lot of waterways and a lot of fences to contain the “farmed” animals which produce the meat and fibre – you know, the stuff people eat and the exports which NZ is supposed to be keen on.
    There are also a lot of game animals eg feral deer, wild pigs and goats, possums, birds (ducks, problem geese and assorted others), rabbits and hares.
    All these also poo and pee at random.
    There is no way to stop them and no fences will keep them enclosed from waterways.
    If there were no farmed animals, their places would be taken by more and more of the feral/wild variety.
    So if managed animals are to be severely curtailed in the interests of green politics, I am waiting to hear about what will happen to the millions of unmanaged ones that we already have.
    And soon, no guns to make a difference either.

  If the former mayoral Jester gets his way (invalid votes can be counted as being “valid”), well then the Officials may as well recount EVERY local body election result (all thousands of them) because if the Jester can overturn the official results then so can many other candidates.

  While you reference ‘pollution’ generally, if we focus on GHG emissions specifically and the double standards vis a vis these nations, what is the common demographic denominator in all of those top countries? When we identify the answer, and compare it with the demographic makeup of those nations who are to be tax-raped in the name of saving the Earth, then all is laid bare. Forget what the Eco-Fascists say, and look at the measures they intend to impose. This all has nothing to do with reducing emissions.

  We see this in tax law where if a company has a 49% shareholding continuity then losses can be carried forward.
  I submit that if the addict can prove that he has retained at least 49% of his brain cells then that discount can be carried forward.
  But as the carry forward percentage for imputation credits is 66% that addict must prove that he has retained at least 66% of his brain cells if he is to be able access imputation credits on dividends received.

  I did quite a bit of work on patterns of family violence. The risk factors for kids are well understood. Thanks to Bill English pushing for evidence based social policy. If a family has two or more of these factors it is red flag. If it is three or more the kids are at very high risk. Four or more get the kids out. Some of the factors…
  
  One or both parents have criminal convictions
  Male member of household has been in prison
  No member of household in work or training
  Mother does not have at lest NCEA Level 2
  Gang affiliations
  Use of methamphetamine
  Alcoholism
  Family violence call outs
  Male partner of mother is not biological father of one or more children in household
  
  I have just listed them from memory. You can look at different combinations and determine a priority order of at risk kids.
  
  Being Maori is NOT a risk factor that is looked for. It is the other way around. The risk factors are more often present in Maori families.

        I read about one of the parts of the Longitudinal Study being done by Otago. Its a whole of life study of a group that are now 44 years old.
        The obsevation put forward was that the faster people walk the higher their intelligence level.

    I think a lot of the problem arises from the fact that there is no true Maori leadership, and what there is, does not condemn family violence. Neither men nor women.
    All the real outrage is expressed by New Zealanders of European extraction, but excused by the Maori who transfer the blame back on to the European influence.
    Until Maori start demanding that their brothers and sisters shape up, I cannot see any improvement in the statistics.

I’m certain that Mr Smith fully intended to row his waka to Austria & only the direful urgency of the trip would have convinced him to fly.

No indigenous trougher worth his salt would travel with the plebs so I’ve used business class seating to calculate his CO2 emmissions at 14.35 tonnes for a return trip.

If this Henry Cooke interview with the Prime Minister is any guide, Jacinda Ardern with the Labour Party, will be on the Opposition benches within a year.

The performance with the housing issue (which is a significant part of child poverty as well) has been woeful. Why is this government still effectively BANNING the provision of new affordable housing, because it is failing to deal with land supply and proper infrastructure funding ?

The 3 monthly IPSOS Issues Monitors are consistently telling us that housing is the major issue … by a country mile. Westpac’s Dwelling Preference Survey tells us that, overwhelmingly, Kiwis want detached housing with a backyard.

Will this government deliver in time … to survive ?

The supreme court drags its heels on issuing a transcript of the supreme court hearing, if it is produced as promised people will learn how intensely embarrassing it is for the police, the prosecution and the previous appeal court.

It is just two months on, the hearing was around 6 hours in total.

    “A former top Canadian justice official tells how a belief that wrongful convictions couldn’t occur was turned on its head by the arrival of DNA evidence. Canada now leads the way in addressing common causes of miscarriages of justice that also affect New Zealand.
    “It’s a little unusual to have someone with a prosecution background to be still concerned about the prospect of wrongful convictions.”
    
    So says Canadian Bruce MacFarlane, QC, a former deputy justice minister for the province of Manitoba. Most of his career, his job was to lock up offenders. For 15 years as a young prosecutor, he was in court just about every day and later ran the whole process as the Justice Department’s director of federal prosecutions.
    
    He slept well at nights until, under his watch, DNA proved that David Milgaard was innocent of a rape and murder for which he spent 23 years in jail. That sparked a royal commission.
    
    The evolution of DNA technology enabled a profile to be detected in a dried semen sample. As well as clear Milgaard, it identified the real offender.
    
    “At the time we were at a stage where the attitude was that wrongful convictions don’t really happen. Those raising their voices about it were wrong because we had so many safeguards in the system. That was the general atmosphere. DNA changed the picture.” ”
    
    Here’s the thing, the supreme court may issue a judgement that the conviction was inevitable, but that will not explain the dna under Christine and Amber’s fingernails, that is impossible to get with a handshake. Mark Cooper wrote the appeal judgement, he is plain wrong. This is a contingent hazard for our appeal and supreme courts, the real perpetrator will be found after they have signed off on a massive hoax. Not a good look, and it may be the chief justice is beginning to understand.

Most African refugees headed for Europe aren’t fleeing war or upheaval. They mainly come from the relatively (for Africa) Western African nations of Nigeria and Senegal. And in their native countries they earn more than the national average.

This is the finding of a UN survey. It has found that the “brightest and best” are trying to move to Europe.

Disabled car parks!
Are they allowed to be used at the supermarket by able bodied people to go shopping and leaving the disabled person in the car, with the parking permit on the dash.
Should they not be using a normal carpark?
I feel they are abusing the system!

    Of course they should! My partner still uses his dads disabled parking permit everywhere we go. And if push ever comes to shove, he does an amazing take-off of Steady Eddy. It’s actually gotten us out of the poo on many occasions.

  After all I could take a photo of the van, and its number plate, and in a matter of minutes send copies to his employer, the Council, the Police and the local paper.
