  Also another Labour Party sex scandal and of course a coverup as well, has just been revealed on a talkback show. It was the Darren Hughes saga in the home of Annette King in Haitaitai. That was where a naked youth was seen running down the road after being in the company of Hughes and King.
  The scandal was hushed up ,and Darren Hughes ,Labour Party whip,was fast tracked out of NZ.

What in hell is going on?
Taxpayers being taken for millions of dollars providing motel accommodation for Labour -supporting losers who have defaulted on rent, wrecked decent homes, or are results of the CoL’s attack on landlords.
This is what happens when benefits are paid for breeding, housing, feeding, in fact anything many of these leeches want without question. We now have a whole generation of self-entitled, bludging ferals who will not work, and don’t have any conscience taking everything they can get for nothing, in fact they take it as of right.
When immoral mothers can claim taxpayers’ support for illegitimate kids, not naming the fathers who should be financially responsible, and we are expected to foot the cost it has gone too far.
Enough is enough, and this must stop NOW!

    Take them off the parent(s) and don’t give them back until the parent(s) have a home and income of a decent standard. Of course the shrieking classes would shriek about that too but the children would be better off. And you have to break the cycle of people being shitty parents because they learned from it from their own parents.

      You need to be able to say that we will not pay for any more children beyond a set number. Queue the human rights activists and claims of racism or hate etc, but if you breed them, you need to feed them. No more welfare for those not wanting to improve their own situation. Also time limits. Time limits are good.

    Taxpayers can no longer be expected to fund bludgers’ bedroom activities, wrecked state house repairs, etc, etc.
    Those doing all the paying have planned their lives and had children when they can afford them, in many cases, not having any, so as to provide for themselves, yet they are expected to support these self-entitled immoral breeders for income.

  Rent rises, shortage of rental housing, 3000 households in taxpayer funded motels, net migration increased 8% in the year to July 2019.
  
  Promise, promises, and one or two dots to be joined right there.
  
  Add in more and more social housing – massive capital and ongoing maintenance cost and average taxpayer subsidy $300 per week for income related rents. Compare that cost to that of private rentals – teeny tiny.
  
  Doesn’t this government do any cost benefit analyses? Or care about beleaguered taxpayers?

    Social housing rents have been typically 1/6 of income for 50? years. State House tenants complained that their pay rises took their income based rents beyond market.

      Each state and most social houses have a market rent set and reviewed regularly. No tenant pays more than that, regardless of their income.
      
      The previous government formalised rent reviews and undertook a programme of supporting tenants to move on, including financially, starting with those paying market rent. Hundreds moved, quite a few to home ownership.
      
      No longer happening, apparently. Or if it is happening being kept very very quiet.

  We used to stay in a motel in Lower Hutt. Last time we were there, almost all the ‘guests’ were Hutt feral families. Believe me, they are worse than Wangas ferals. We ended up upping sticks and finding a hotel because the noise was ridiculous.

    Will we ever see what the terms of reference are for the QC. All we’ve been told so far is that Ardern believes (God forbid) that they are wide enough to cover the allegations of sexual abuse. In other words she doesn’t really know what the terms of reference are or she’s lying because she does know that the QC
    has been charged with only investigating the written transcripts which we are told contain no reference to allegations of sexual impropriety.

      Thompson was an interesting playwright. In Christchurch and Auckland he wrote works based on NZ history and historical characters. There was an interesting work about a colourful Mayor of Christchurch.
      
      Thompson had a hard start to life. As a teenager leaving school early he worked underground in the West Coast coal mines, and he said it was compulsory Army training that started him on the road to his academic career.
      
      I don’t think the feminists who humiliated him were ever held to account.

I was thinking about the Pacific Islands going after Australia about coal and climate change.

I am on vacation on a remote island in the Fiji Group. It was uninhabited before the resort was built. I asked one of the staff why it was uninhabited. “No water”. So it turns out that all the water for the resort comes from a desalination plant. It uses lots of electricity. Provided by a diesel generator. I took a walk until I found the power plant. It had massive diesel tanks. Thousands of litres.

Now that is all fine but it simply shows that Fiji will do what it takes to fuel its massive tourist industry. Just like Australia is not going to stop exporting coal. Something that could be raised the next time this issue comes up.

    Compare that to Cambodian acquaintances of mine who fled the genocidal Khmer Rouge on foot, through the jungle for weeks, kids and grannies being carried on backs……..with whole swathes of their family executed and buried in pits.
    
    I get the strong feeling that Golriz thinks it right to expect to be lauded for who she is (‘refugee’, a woman, a ‘person of colour’, a lawyer) rather than the results she has delivered for NZers.
    
    She is one of the few NZ MPs that makes my skin crawl. I will be pleased to see the back of her in due course.

In the issue as identified by the Spinoff, September 9, “A Labour volunteer alleged a violent sexual assault by a Labour staffer”, what remains so basic, but so unclear is –
Has the 19 year-old woman made an official complaint to Police or not. Are the Police investigating the matter?

Meanwhile, Ardern, having said it was not at all appropriate for Haworth to attempt to investigate a sexual assault case, has herself not desisted in her own efforts.
Ardern does not say she has referred the matter to Police, stopped her QC investigating, advised the complainant herself to go to the Police, or announced if she, Ardern, even knows that approach has occurred or not.
Ardern does not seemed to have changed any circumstance, except accept Haworth’s resignation.

At what point in this amazing mess will the general public (and voters) be reassured that the sexual assault of a 19 year-old woman is being properly investigated by the Police?

From Jacinda Ardern’s United Nations address proclaiming “Me Too should be We Too”, to this involving staff related to her own office, the New Zealand public (and even the world) need to know this matter is being investigated by the appropriate agency – the Police.

Jacinda might hope this is resolved a little more before she re-appears at the UN in New York shortly.

I would hope it be resolved as soon as possible, of course, for the sake of the 19 year-old woman and other complainants.

And resolved also finally for the interest of voters before the next Election.

  Apparently the complainants are taking legal advice of their options since the prescribed process let them down so woefully. So much so that that process itself has some serious legal matters arising from the current situation and outcome of the handling. IMO lodging a formal complaint with the Police would play right into the party’s hands to shut the matter down bearing in mind the extended process of the sex camp scandal.
  Hence the priority is to unravel the party’s actions in trying to shut this whole mess down from the outset. There is lot more to be revealed before it reaches a legal matter locked in secrecy pending proceedings.

Something of interest concerning the ‘revised’ history that will be taught in NZ Schools:

It appears that ‘The arrival of Maori in NZ and History of colonisation’ are to form part of this.

‘The arrival of Maori in NZ’ predicates that the land was unoccupied, yet in certain tribal areas there are oral traditions indicating that in fact the canoes were welcomed on the beaches when they finally made landfall.

As the newcomers eventually overwhelmed and replaced the people who were there before them, surely Maori too are ‘guilty’ of ”Colonisation’ or will that inconvenient detail be studiously ignored because it doesn’t fit the carefully crafted ‘Whitey bad’ narrative?

And I wonder too what spin will be put on the very deliberate and well-recorded Maori invasion and ‘colonisation’ of the Chathams…?

Will the truth prevail or….?

They are relative.   I’ve heard the argument before that Māori are not indigenous to NZ because they only arrived relatively recently.
  That would infer to be indigenous a people either must always have been here or some other people were.
  There was a time when humanity didn’t exist; unless you adhere to some faith that believes otherwise.
  From the beginning of man whoever was the first people in a particular area were indigenous. As it happened NZ was settled late on in the piece, but the first people, who assumed the name Māori hundreds of years later, are still known as indigenous.

    The term in Biology refers to something that is native to a region… or arose in a certain area.
    
    It could be argued that humans are not indigenous to NZ… as we didn’t evolve here; no ancestral forms or close relatives of humans ever occurred here.
    
    What we have in NZ is a late human-settlement story whereby a group of Polynesians settled here in the 13th Century and other Groups of humans arrived and began to settle here 5 centuries later.
    
    Since the Maori culture developed here, it means that Maori can claim to be indigenous to NZ; but I, as a Pakeha Kiwi, am also indigenous to NZ.
    My upbringing, education, experiences etc are all within the sphere of NZ culture and its Governance.
    
    And although my immediate ancestors originated from a couple of rocks on the edge of Europe, I’m no more of an European than I am a Pacific Islander.

Today Jacinda Ardern gave a FUCK YOU to all the people of NZ.

Instead of using the Maori Language as a gift to unite citizens of NZ she allowed Kelvin Davis to use the language as a weapon to try and belittle Paula Bennett.

Mallard deliberately screwed up the proceedings by pretending he had understood a previous translation, when clearly he hadn’t.
