Cato has released the 2018 Freedom Index. The top 10 are:
- New Zealand 8.89
- Switzerland 8.79
- Hong Kong 8.78
- Australia 8.58
- Canada 8.57
- Netherlands 8.55
- Denmark 8.55
- Ireland 8.50
- UK 8.50
- Finland, Norway, Taiwan 8.47
The bottom three are Syria, Venezuela and Yemen.
