NZ needs somebody strong and with a thick hide to stand up to the brown maori mafia that currently hold the country to ransom with their never ending demands. Someone who is strong enough to look them directly in the eye and tell them ‘ times up’, enough. Get on board with the rest of the country and become New Zealanders, white , yellow, brown, pink. Maori have taken their pound of flesh, don’t be greedy, don’t bite the hand that’s been feeding you.
My message to you is..fit in or f*** off..to where, I don’t care. You have held the country to ransom for long enough.

      If wholly NZ owned, Company tax isn’t an issue because if a company pays no tax, any distributions as dividends do pay the tax; and if the company does pay tax, dividends can be paid that are (usually almost) tax free in the hands of its shareholders. So income is taxed only once as it should be.

      See page 39. Tax as per IRD formula in any given year is based on previous years tax plus 5% and the 20 million refers to current tax position including both current and deferred tax.
      
      Tax expense 2016 was 108 Million plus 5 million extra as it would seem they slightly underestimated on the previous year so 113 million. Tax expense 2017 was 97 Million less 25 million as they overestimated (using the formula) on the previous year and profits were lower.
      
      They would have paid to IRD all current tax owing 2017 e.g. 117 million and IRD would have returned any paid over their assessment based on actual profits. Or you can opt to roll that over into the current tax year and stay ahead.
      
      Then there is deferred tax of 15 million 2016 and 52 million 2017 which are due to temporary changes in assets and liabilities. This is a paper thing and of course something like a major purchase assessed as the capital expense would affect tax liability. “Deferred tax assets are recognised to the extent it is probable that future taxable profits will be available against which the temporary differences can be utilised.”.
      
      If you are going to claim companies pay no tax, at least reflect fairly their figures which of course show they paid multi-millions to the IRD. Plus, as others have pointed out every payout like dividends has RWT applied to it and there would be GST and other taxes as well.

  I we (my Party, National, that is) should tell them, publicly, to get stuffed. We would lose a few v0tes at the chardonnay swilling and wet margins, but gain support among the “westie” mob, labour’s individual (not the PC union gangsters) union members, and the redmelons.

I note that some $6.5 million is to be spent by a discussion of experts, at very good daily emoluments, plus expenses, travelling around the country to determine what they already know as a number of them are fully employed in the area of Mental Health.
We are being mushroomed – kept in the dark and fed bullshit, in that all the information can be gathered in Wellington within a week.
More importantly it looks that by October when the report will be delayed to Christmas Eve that nothing that is already underway will change – only the conversation.
I hear from her pregnant highness that targets for the number of suicides will be discussed, without looking at the fundamentals as to such as diversity and population changes and growth and the effects.
I would like as a former analyst to see a simple breakdown of the diverse ethnicity of the people involved.
Easy really, throw more money at it – QED

    A report a few year back in the USA into mental health outcomes showed the practitioners that the 10 year outcomes were independent of their diagnoses and treatment regimes. They recognised 200 modalities so how can mental health protocols have any credibility? ECT is still used. Some talk fests have left patients suicidal.

      ECT, although grossly misused originally, actually has some application in some cases. there are people for whom it works and is better than the alternatives. The alternatives are mostly drugs of various sorts and some people either can’t tolerate them, have excessive side effects, or find that the general impact on their lives to be excessive. For some people, ECT done appropriately offers a viable alternative.
      
      And that’s why it is still available, it is’t applied as it was to cases where it has no use.

  Before the shock treatment used today wasn’t all our meat originally slaughtered by cutting the animals throats. I remember asking the butcher why our packaged supermarket meat no longer had blood in it and that is what he told me, so it appears that halal is nothing really new it’s just talked about now. (I don’t think our butchers worried about which way they were facing at the time though). Please correct me if I’m wrong.

  There have been similar allegations lobbed at kosher slaughter as well. Apparently 88% of halal slaughtered animals are stunned in Britain before death. There are obviously less than ideal practices which need to be stopped here in NZ, including the inhumane treatment of bobby calves by some operators.

    It’s largely a beat up though. It is mandatory to stun animals before slaughter in NZ and the standard is audited and monitored. All major works must follow the standard, and in general every single one does Halal slaughter. Individual home slaughter practitioners would not have to though.
    
    Worth noting that an unstunned animal is typically highly stressed by the process (!) and a stressed animal produces inferior meat. So it is certainly in the interests of the works to have an effective stun process.
    
    As for bobby calves, it is actually quite diificult. Unlike lambs bobby calves are slaughtered very young and cannot always tolerate the transport and yarding for slaughter very well. They do not tolerate a lack of food for as long and are physically much weaker; so they do tend to have a much higher mortality rate before slaughter and can be much harder to handle. Usually they are killed in Lamb processing plants as the carcasses are pretty much equivalent to a lamb carcass; and beef plants are optimized for much larger carcasses.

Didn’t spend my formative years in state care;
married to a heterosexual partner;
We have a family;
In paid employment;
Paying taxes & not receiving any benefits, including WFF;
Don’t have any mental health issues (that I know about)
I enjoy drink, but have no addictions.

Given latest news & statistics, I’m clearly a minority & so am oppressed/depressed.

Wrong rank badge , soldier salutes without hat , and how the Spitfire managed all that flying on so little fuel is nothing short of a miracle. Unless that was based on an actual incident I am skeptical that it happened at all , I’d suggest such a pilot would return to base to fight another day rather than risk crashing and death. He’d have known there was other air cover. Something the film didn’t seem to want to address.

        Actually I believe that for most of the evacuation the uplift was organized by battalion which means regiment as the intention was to try to keep units together and at least semi-organized. At the end it was more a free for all and organized units rather ceased to exist on the beaches. Most people embarked through the port anyway, only a smallish minority got off the actual beach.
        
        A story that isn’t in the film but I believe is true, is that as the evacuation was starting the army command started destroying equipment that couldn’t be taken with them (basically all the heavy items) and a senior staff officer was tasked with destroying the artillery that couldn’t be used in defense. Apparently his first act was to round up all the AA guns he could get hold of and destroy those… When he reported on this he was immediately removed from the task and although there was some immediate pressure to take him out and just shoot him, he was sent back to the UK and probably employed in a non-important staff job for the rest of the war. Which is one reason there was less defensive AA over Dunkirk than there might have been.

        A boat with 4-5 captains and majors approached the RN vessel off the beach demanding to be rescued.

  The movie is shockingly bad.
  I kinda didn’t mind 3 Billboards but a bit sleep inducing but Darkest Hour was brilliant.
  
  I questioned the sanity of those critics that gushed about it but if I recall correctly one Vic Parking immediately returned the insult to me.
  I do note that apart from the critics, the comments from the ‘ordinary people’ are very negative. I guess they just aren’t arty enough.

More “worst in the world” reporting that catches the eyes of news outlet copy-tasters.

This time we’re the most wasteful country in the developed world. No underlying description of how waste is designated. Does it include, say agriculture manure? Aluminium smelter by-products? (UN waste statistics include forestry, agriculure, and fishing waste.)

The source for this Hooerald report says that the worst in the world at creating waste were small and island including Kuwait, Sri Lanka, and Tonga. NZ follows closely. Sort of a pattern here, isn’t there?

It must be per capita basis, which lets off the mountains of human waste in countries such as Bangladesh, China, and India.

This data is from driven people with a messianic goal: a no-waste world.

When the Hooerald stops printing on paper, that will help.

In a couple of weeks it’s Waitangi Day once again. The anniversary of the signing of the Treaty in the Far North on 6-Feb 1840 and at other locations at later dates.
As usual there are suggestions from some quarters that the day be renamed New Zealand Day. Personally I don’t agree, but I’d like to put forward an alternative on this slow news day now that the the fuss over Hayley Holt, the PM’s pregnancy and the US Government shutdown has run out of steam.
I think Monday should be NZ Day and declared a public holiday, in exchange for keeping off social media for the remaining 32 hours.
I predict a surge in productivity.

So Ardern is probably hopelessly lost in a question like how many drownings anywhere in the Tasman will equate with a number of surviving boat people to make an attempt to reach New Zealand viable?
Matched with that is the foreseeable consequence that ALL new Zealanders hoping to visit Australia will have to undergo full visa and passport requirements to eliminate any back-door immigrants or so-called refugees endeavouring to reach Australia through New Zealand, even if Australia rescues and delivers them here in the first place.

The other unsolved factor also remains – that it is established by evidence such as unwanted pregnancies and disease that under-age girls have been subjected to attentions of Manus Island refugees, but no individual cases have been bought to provide paperwork enabling such offenders to be extracted from those who Ardern would welcome into New Zealand.

Leaves one overall question – why interfere so much in another curries affairs when plenty offers to be corrected at home – like, starting with one definition of poverty and doing something about such families as effected by the worst of those economics?

Access was provided to unvetted external contractors including Fusion GPS as part of the Clinton campaign anti-Trump Russian dossier campaign.
      
      There’s more crookedness and corruption being revealed that most thought was ever imaginable, yet according to our MSM here, that doesn’t exist and Mueller’s investigation is now homing in on the NRA !         Cha, as I understand it it isn’t quite that simple. It’s a Congressional document and not one under the control of the Executive branch, so Trump cannot unilaterally release it. There is a Congressional procedure that should be followed to do so properly.
        
        Of course it could simply be leaked or stolen, but if there’s a proper process and it is reasonable to wait for that process to happen, why not let it happen ? Obeying the rule of law even when pursuing lawbreakers is usually a good idea.

    Actually, I didn’t care which party the Virgin Islands Congresswoman belonged to (she was, BTW, a Democrat), I rather sympathized with her. It may be somewhat foolish to keep intimate photographs of oneself on a mobile that you give others access to, but she suffered a very unpleasant and exploitative intrusion of her privacy by people who one imagines she should have been entitled to trust.
    
    Nothing to me that was party political about the situation particularly at all.

From Britain:
A deputy head at a top girls’ school has warned of the ‘real danger’ of heterosexuality being ignored in favour of lessons on gay and transgender issues.

Cathy Ellott, pastoral deputy of St Mary’s Ascot, said it is important to continue to discuss relationships between men and women because this is the ‘majority experience’.

She added that such partnerships should be ‘learned about and celebrated’ in schools so that children are prepared for adult life.

She also said her all-girls Catholic boarding school in Berkshire is rejecting a wider trend of using gender-neutral language.

Many institutions have chosen to simply refer to pupils as ‘students’ so that transgender youngsters do not feel alienated, but Mrs Ellott said St Mary’s would continue to identify itself as ‘a school for girls’.

Her comments, made in an interview with the Independent School Parent magazine, come after the Government introduced compulsory relationships classes for children of all ages. The lessons must include material about same-sex relationships and transgender issues to comply with the Equality Act.

A number of schools are already teaching children as young as five about gay relationships and gender dysphoria. Mrs Ellott said that while pupils at St Mary’s were taught about LGBT issues, such issues are not the focus of relationships lessons.

Ive been in contact with scaffolders in Auckland to see if they could erect seating outside the hovel in School Rd Kingsland, all OSH approved you understand. They can have it set up on the day of the auction but need Nostra to keep us informed on progress from the AC and the wellbeing of Ms Bright up until auction day.
Will need Nasska and Johnboy to bring BBQ and meat (be a bit classy you blokes and leave the mutton flaps back on the farm). Will need someone to supply a truck load of popcorn as i will be supplying a shit load of piss.
So finally, gas masks will be supplied for the front seats in case the stench gets too much.
Starboard:- it may not pay to bring Milky’s mum, let her have a rest.
What a fun day this is going to be, can’t wait !~

God, for some reason I watched a bit of The Project on TV3. It really is awful. Thick hosts, no vim, no spark. The so called funny guy and some woman who has clearly received an anti-humour vaccination were particularly bad. The only spark was the guest appearance of Rigor who took great delight in mocking them – and they were too thick to notice it.
