      I feel a bit sorry for you so here’s a little tip; shop around for petrol and choose your day and you’ll be able to buy it cheaper than than you’ve been able to buy it for years, just as you can pay far more than you’ve had to for years if you don’t shop around.
      
      But for heaven’s sake, don’t stop with the sad-arsed loser rhetoric; it’s one of the reasons I come here.

        But of course garages do not advertise 98oct which is actually about 20c – 30c more expensive that 91oct.

      But since you are clearly slow, let me spell it out for you: Oil IS a finite resource, and one day – a few centuries from now – the last super expensive barrel of the stuff will be pumped…but by then it will have been long made redundant as a transport fuel.

        With cheap (nuclear) energy oil can be manufactured from water and CO2 from the atmosphere, I have seen figures as low as $50/barrel. It is unbeatable with it’s safe high energy density and long storage life, so hydrocarbon fuels are likely to still be in use in thousands of years for high energy applications like aviation and shipping.

    Ah tricky…you get so upset when I modify your handle…but then you keep on saying such stupid things…and making up things I am supposed to have said…but for the record, I don’t sneer at all at efforts to find alternatives for oil as a transport fuel…as I have said here many times, the stuff is far too valuable to be used for that purpose..
    
    But tell me, how far in the future do you see alternatives for kerosene powered aircraft? I am not an engineer, but I doubt an Airbus 380 would be able to get off the ground with the size of solar panels that would be necessary to power it…super light batteries perhaps??
    
    Do enlighten us on what we can expect in this regard in the future.

      Alternative question -: when do you reckon people should start planning and engineering for the end of oil? Is the effort of making predictions (all be it wrong) now a good thing, or is it at risk the ire of being called an idiot by David Garrett?
      
      Do you stand outside research centres yelling out ‘you won’t cure cancer YET, wait another 100 years and then you might have a shot!” ?
      
      Another alternative question -: when is a good time to decide it might not be such a good thing to pump shitting gases into the atmosphere constantly? Today, tomorrow, or in 200 years from now?

So the ‘Doomsday Clock’ has officially been moved thirty seconds closer to midnight upon the establishment of Trump in office.

What a load of codswallop.

If anything, it should go backwards about five minutes. Laissez faire leaders without the courage to firmly deal with reality such as Obama bumbling through his presidency – along with do-nothing Cameron and the clearly mad Merkel and Juncke sow seeds of much destruction, it’s just that it takes a while for it to become apparent.

The US will still be the world’s policeman (it has to, it has so many interests abroad) but in order to do so, passengers such as New Zealand must pay more and be more. Allies must firmly state they are allies and behave like allies. And the US must regain clear economic superiority.

There goes the ‘Chinese century’

  Trump was trying to block refugees and otherwise travel from 7 nations but did not exempt travel to or entry into the USA of those with Green Cards (permanent residents) – who are being also being banned from flights or entry at US airports.

    Israel officially attested to 1,092,000 survivors living in Israel in 2003. Extrapolating across all countries way back to 1945 implies at least 5-6 million survivors then, if not many more.
    
    At the same time, the official propaganda report for the death toll among jews in Europe was that “two in three perished”: thus of 9.5 million jews in pre-war Europe, 6 million were said to be killed by 1945.
    
    Thus Israel attested to at least as many survivors as alleged “victims”.
    
    In addition the number of “victims” does not even take into account the fact many of “Germany’s jews” had fled before the outbreak of war while hundreds of thousands more jews continued their flight from Western Europe during the first half of the war to Palestine, the US & Great Britain among other destinations, with many also making their way to Russia where they no doubt participated in the Bolshevik terror

    I couldn’t agree more Southern Raider. Having visited the Holocaust Museum in Prague in 2015 and the nearby Terezin concentration camp, I have no difficulty whatsoever in accepting the historical account of the massacre of Jews by Germany.
    
    I too am surprised that DPF tolerates EAD’s attempts to rewrite history. Free speech is one thing, but what has been posted today is repulsive to most normal-thinking people.

Just to show how socially refined I am I took the wife to the Winery Tour at the Bowl of Brooklands last night.
Pretty disappointing crowd given it was probably the finest night we have had this year.
Great concert though with a good performance from Brooke Fraser.
To the chick he invaded the stage near the end in the bikini you should not have as you were fat and rather ugly and the to the guy and girl in front of us who went at it like rabbits as soon as it got dark was she actually legal?.

      The Russians (GD of Moscow) expanded both west and eastward. Western boundary issues with Lithuania/Poland/Ukraine and Peter the Great era struggle for control of the Baltic (including Scandinavians at times).
      
      More recently issues were their borders with the Germans (each occupying part of Poland and at one point part of a European wide alliance to defeat a totally isolated Prussia) and to the south siding with other Slavs against the Ottoman empire.         The war caused Florence Nightingale, who arrived back from the East to all the tales of horror and proceeded to get others organized to go to Crimea to tend the wounded.
        
        The Victoria Cross is made from the metal of a cannon captured at Sebastipol. Up until several years ago that was assumed to be of Russian manufacture. Analysis of the metal has shown it to be of Chinese origin.
        The “recruits” were generally poor people who joined for a small sum and were sent to the war with no training and no equipment much, no warm clothes and little idea of what to do.
        They were slaughtered by the Russians with their rifles.
        
        This led to the queen ruling that the Army had to be full time, paid and trained. Unfortunately the landed gentry who were always going to be in charge didn’t take to that idea with the result that by the time the First ww came along things were not a lot better, hence Gallipoli and more.

    President Obama made a mistake not taking in Iraqi Christians in as refugees because they were not persecuted by the US backed government (Islamists, whether IS or Shia militias were the ones making it unsafe etc).

  While I have a soft spot for some of the sacred cows Trump appears to be targetting (and his seemingly harder approach to foreign policy), I cannot see how imposing tariffs as he is suggesting can do anything but hurt the US economy (raising prices to consumers and pumping inflation).
  
  It is a hell of a gamble. Economists mostly expect it to hurt the US economy, and impacts are likely to be somewhere between slightly worse and catastrophic (possibly kicking off next GFC?). We shall see but I am not optimistic.

The answer to why the 4 million figure was used in the first place is that it was deemed necessary at the 1946 Nuremberg Tribunal as a support and justification for the fantastic 6 million total number of Jews “murdered.” Who demanded the 6 million number? You should be able to answer that yourself.

But more, the official Auschwitz-Birkenau death number now stands even lower at 1.1 million. There are holocaust historians in good standing who have reduced it to 900,000 and even 700,000. How much lower will it go?

This is just one example of the many changes in the holocaust story that the official establishment has been forced to make due to the critical scrutiny and investigation (at great risk to their own life and liberty) of those we call Revisionists.       Look, Trump has just screwed our nation over when it comes to trade by pulling out of the TPP. Do we declare war on the US, boycott and embargo, denounce and fume? No. For sensible people. life goes on. Countries go about their business. If idiots are stupid enough to join the likes of ISIS courtesy of Trump’s policies, and the apocalyptic fantasy that the US is the prime cause of all the region’s troubles then they are not the sort of people he should try and placate in the first place. Obama’s policies didn’t change their disposition, indeed ISIS occurred on his watch!

      Tucker Carlson argues this exact point with migration advocate Kevin Appleby. As he suggests, you can’t really use the argument that we should let more migrants in because then they’ll hate the U.S and there will be more terrorism.

        I’m probably at a disadvantage, as I didn’t see the original comment.
        
        Was it as offensive as Stephieboy’s hyperlink to pornographic images, or Kea’s hyperlink to a video clip of four women being executed and dismembered (on the basis of some tenuous point that Kea wanted to make about religion)? DPF issued strikes to Stephieboy and Kea for those indiscretions.
        
        I doubt I’ll ever see anything as offensive as what Kea posted.

Some of these lies led to the torture and execution of German prisoners of war, and the relentless persecution of thousands of people whose only crime was that they were enrolled in the German army, and happened to have been near places were bad things alledgedly went on.
        
        These stories are not innocent, and the enormous number and variation of them surpasses those about any other historical account. Jews are generally gifted people.
        
        Fortunately we can’t get arrested in NZ (yet) for discussing this subject unlike in 18 countries where the subject is verboten so I will continue to discuss in spite of the hysteria from the likes of Milkmaid and others who have been brainwashed to lose their faculties whenever this historical event is discussed in any way but the approved manner.

    I’m guessing fatherhood has given DPF new instant priorities which means we may see some delayed, possibly distracted, moderation. This would be completely understandable under the circumstances
    
    Reid’s little episode of claiming he was hacked rather than banned maybe one example of such moderation but it did highlight the flaws in how Reid reaches his understanding of how the world works
    
    He was banned for offensive language and so couldn’t log in to Kiwiblog
    He concluded his lack of access was due to hacking
    There was no evidence for this conclusion other than he could not log in to Kiwiblog
    He was relying on faulty and incomplete information. He had the opportunity to use the Kiwiblog comments page to confirm the information but chose willful ignorance.
    I am willing to bet that Reid has been made aware of the reality of the situation, possibly by DPF, and so will not be commenting before his ban is over on 1st Feb using either of his log ins.

Well without being nasty or criticising the illness of cancer I would hope Andrew Little has not appealed for the sympathy vote by his trying to tie his having cancer to his state of the Nation speech today. His speech today was much of the same apart from trying to slur Bill English and his ability to lead this Country as Prime Minister. I believe he has open the door for some serious criticism from his remarks about the National leader and PM as he is not what many people in this Country would call a Leader in waiting. another tosser following in the footsteps of their last four pretenders.

Dozens of Australian deportees are returning to New Zealand each month, sparking concerns resources are too stretched for them to reintegrate successfully.

Helen Murphy, manager of Prisoners’ Aid and Rehabilitation Society of Canterbury (Pars), said Kiwi-born criminals from across the Tasman were “coming continuously”.

Police figures show that of the 660 sent back since January 2015, 218 had offended in New Zealand since their return.

Parvinder and Habib are street beggars. They beg in different areas of London.

Habib begs just as long as Parvinder but only collects £2 to £3 every day.

Parvinder brings home a suitcase FULL of £10 notes, drives a Mercedes, lives in a mortgage-free house and has a lot of money to spend.

Last Wishes

Dave Smith is on his death bed and knows the end is near.
His nurse, his wife, his daughter and 2 sons are with him at his home in London.
He asks for 2 independent witnesses to be present and a camcorder be in place to record his last wishes.
When all is ready he begins to speak:
“My son, Bernie, I want you to take the Mayfair houses.”
“My daughter, Sybil, you take the apartments over in the East end.”
“My son, Jamie, I want you to take the offices over in the City.”
“Sarah, my dear wife, please take all the residential buildings on the banks of the Thames .”
The nurse and witnesses are blown away. They did not realize the extent of his holdings.
As Dave slips away, the nurse says to his wife,
“Mrs. Smith, my deepest condolences.
Your husband must have been such a hard-working and wonderful man to have accumulated all this property…………..
“Property?”, Sarah Smith replies. “The bugger had a window cleaning round.”
