So I know there was some discussion last week about whether Mohammad Anwar Sahib is alone in his views, or if other Muslims support what he says. We know that he’s been condemned by bodies such as the Islamic Women’s Council of New Zealand, but what I don’t know is whether those that condemn him outweigh those who support him.

I doubt very much that we’ll ever see a poll, but FWIW I have seen at least one person writing in support of Sahib, on Pete George’s YourNZ blog, here:

Here are just some of the statements made there (emphasis mine):

He is a role model of any Islamic Preacher around the whole world, to apply the spirit of Islam in a very well-sophisticated manner that no one can imitate him.

He is a totally well-moderate person in all his teachings. It is only a well-organized campaign against him.

All the above mentioned bodies you have mentioned them, it is a massive honour for all of them to have Dr Sahib as board member – because he is the most qualified, professional person amongst them all. The other members of these bodies, they should get deported from New Zealand, because having them in Muslim community in New Zealand is making no sense at all.

Dr Sahib is a treasure of knowledge to all Muslims in New Zealand, he is totally got misrepresented by you.

So the question is, is this a lone voice in the wilderness, or …

  I’m surprised the animal welfare activists don’t drive halal butchers out of New Zealand. I’m no vegan, nor a vegetarian, but this sort of animal handling is unacceptable. The video seems to be from England, but how can we be assured NZ meat works control halal killing to an acceptable standard?

‘So far, Trump has won the popular vote in 29 states, to Clinton’s 20 states. (As of this writing, Michigan is still up in the air, although Trump currently leads in the vote count.) In other words, Trump carried 45% more states than Clinton.
Since winning state elections is what counts in the United States when running for president, Trump clearly outperformed Clinton. (Trump has 25% more electoral votes than Clinton.)
What’s more, Trump’s margin of victory in the states he won was, on average, higher than Clinton’s.
Of the state’s Trump won, he got 56.2% of the vote, on average. Of the states Clinton won, she got only 53.5% of the vote.
The only reason that Clinton is beating Trump in the overall popular vote is that California gave Clinton a huge margin of victory — which currently stands at 61% to 33%.
The thing is, California is a very populous and very liberal state — so far, it has counted more than 10.7 million ballots. As a result, California alone is dumping vast numbers of votes into the Clinton column — where she currently has 3 million more than Trump.’
‘As IBD pointed out in a recent editorial, the Electoral College was specifically designed to prevent candidates from winning the presidency simply by appealing to a few heavily-populated, highly partisan regions of the country. The Electoral College forces candidates to compete nationwide if they want to be president. That’s a good thing.’

On the recount, if it goes ahead, I’d like to see Trump force recounts in States where Hillary won. Let’s check all those absentee and mail in ballots, see if they are real huh. Make her lawyers spend a fortune. Trump should also flood the recount with observers to make sure nothing untoward goes on.

      But if they really wanted to test the integrity, why don’t they test the State with the lowest winning margin because there any fraud or mistakes will have the greatest impact.
      
      That, by the way, is New Hampshire, won by Clinton by around 2,500 votes, a margin possible to overturn legitimately. Or why not Nevada, margin 27,000 to Clinton ?
      
      Instead, they’ve chosen three “unexpected” wins by Trump and Trump only. Looks awfully like an attempt to stuff the ballots post election to me; there must be tens of thousands of dead people who would have voted for Clinton had they known how important it was.
      
      Of course the other way to look at it is Jill Stein raking in the cash to help pay off her campaign debts.

‘Donald Trump’s incoming chief of staff suggests Hillary Clinton is backing away from a deal worked out between the two presidential campaigns on how the loser would concede to the winner.

Reince Priebus tells “Fox News Sunday” that Clinton’s team “cut a deal” with Trump’s team specifying that once The Associated Press called the race in favor of one candidate, the other would call within 15 minutes to concede.

Priebus says that’s just what happened election night.
But now he’s questioning whether Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias is backing down from that deal by announcing Clinton will participate in a recount in Wisconsin and may do the same in Michigan and Pennsylvania. The push is being led by the Green Party’s Jill Stein.’

  The role of Stein in this is an odd one; why would a candidate who polled only 1% of the votes be pushing for a recount; especially as it is unlikely to raise her over-all total to anything near the amount she would need to even consider the White House. On that basis, there has to be a lot more to this than meet the eye, and the only conclusion to be reached is that somehow the Clinton’s have made some sort of deal / promises to Ms Stein, a distinct possibility now that the Clinton’s themselves are now apparently reneging on their Election Night concession. The Clinton’s did it with Sanders and have no doubt ‘arranged’ something with Stein. If it smells like a fish, it looks like a fish and is even acting like a fish, it is highly unlikely to be a giraffe. The MSM, full of self-righteous rage with the Donald at having been cuckolded a the post are, of course, enthusiastic supporters of the ‘recount’ and, as always, will never, ever actually act like the professional journalists that they believe they are and actually do some background investigation to discover ‘the reasons why’ Stein is pursuing this with such enthusiasm.

    If you have a look at the recount deadlines in those states it’s very tight which is why Stein requested a hand recount, and if the deadline isn’t met, the electoral college votes don’t count.
    
    Why did she only ask for recounts in those states? That’s why. Even if it goes to the Supreme Court, and once again, the SC unconstitutionally gets involved in a Presidential election, and she gets overruled, she wins, because Trump’s victory is forever tainted.

  The point I am making is that the ketches and bushy haired strangers are red herrings in a simple case. There were only two water taxis that Watson could board, and he boarded one of them, and the kids were on Wallace’s taxi.
  If Watson boarded Wallace’s taxi they were last seen boarding Watson’s boat, but if he boarded Anderson’s taxi after 3 30 am, he is innocent.
  All the other evidence is essentially meaningless. Only Donald Anderson and Watson can be certain of the truth, because Wallace claims he is not certain.

This morning that balanced representation came in the form of 22 year old Elian Gonzalez. In 1999, five-year-old Elian Gonzalez was kidnapped by some of these so-called “exile” fanatics. After a momentous legal battle, he was eventually returned to his father in Cuba. Today Elian Gonzalez, now 22 years old, appeared on Al Jazeera, praising the late Cuban leader.

This moment of sanity was soon relegated, however. To “balance” the testimony of Elian Gonzalez, the host interviewed one Peter Hakim, who rejoices in the splendid title of “president emeritus and senior fellow” of the Inter-American Dialogue. For a couple of minutes, Hakim released, pompously and slowly, a stream of anti-Castro propaganda, and absurdly lied that Castro had been opposed to the democratic developments in Latin America. To hear Peter Hakim telling this lie was especially galling, in view of the fact that in 1994, Hakim stated with equal pomposity, that the U.S. should not be concerned with either human rights or democracy in Haiti, and in fact the democratically elected President Aristide should be deposed, in the usual brutal manner.

What I saw were heaps of Cuban-Americans celebrating the death of a dictator who made life so miserable that thousands of Cubans risked life and limb to leave their own country.
It’s a good thing that he is dead. He was a miserable dictator who kept his people in poverty while enjoying unprecedented levels of luxury and decadence himself.

Some common sense finally seems to be prevailing in certain areas amongst the general madness of the immigration system.
Basically the information shows that hardly any of the immigrants from the Islands are skilled and most were coming under the family category resulting in the problems we have now in NZ with them in being over represented in most of the negative societal statistics.
Government should have put an end to this drain on the country years ago.

The media are being very coy over the terrible drowning on the Kaipara bar. All the stories about the skipper are about what a great guy he was, none about what a fool he must have been to go out, let alone try to come back in, in those conditions. If he had survived, he should have faced manslaughter charges. And what of his clients? Were they wearing life jackets? If not, why weren’t they told to do so by the skipper when they were attempting what was obviously a dangerous crossing? If they didn’t take any notice of such a warning, what on earth was going through their heads, when the need for lifejackets must have been obvious, when their use is emphasised over and over again, and the Pasifika community seems to have been involved in other losses of life where lifejackets weren’t worn. Sure, a tragedy for all concerned. But why aren’t the press asking questions which aren’t even hard, just bloody obvious?

  And that the video was produced by Harpo Productions, Oprah’s company, who also produced O’Donnell’s show.
  
  And that Romney transferred from his personal account $3.7 million to Parsons a few weeks ago, who then immediately transferred $1.5m to O’Donnell and $1.7m to Harpo.
  
  And that Parson’s company is the domain registrar for that site which WaPo is using to push its fake news meme.

Visitors to Auckland usually don’t come just to look at Queen St and the tramps, they come because some event is being held. One or two nights accommodation at the most so an extra $10 per person won’t be damaging. For a family staying a week to see the sights it may turn them elsewhere.

The irony is – I only get depressed when I *see* John Kirwan.
I’m talking about his latest ad bombing campaign.

Somehow the sound got through on an ad – it was a graphic goldfish repeating the same line in a stupid accent. Actual attempt at brainwashing dressed up as (in their mind) ‘cute’. Insulting. Abusive.

Martin Snedden – 1970s haircut – the face is farked – fella. The hair is fixable. That is some damned ugly hair. Wincing as I changed the channel – fugly mofo. $60 to watch the next Parker fight ? I might watch it if it played at a cinema for a reasonable price. Just give a warning if Martin is going be shown full screen.

NZ multi-culture – I’m celebrating headscarves more and more. Aren’t they dapper ?
