This is insane. Where is the compassion shown to violent criminals. The so called justice system is a sick joke. I am certainly not soft on crime but it justice should reflect what the community expects. Do any of you think she should stay in jail till her last few days?

Vicki Letele parole application denied

Lying in a hospital bed with a prison guard just metres away – that’s how Vicki Letele is destined to spend her final days.

In March this year, the former mortgage broker was convicted of fraud after using forged documents to allow low-income families to obtain home loans.

Six months into her three-year sentence she became violently ill.

“It was black, black vomit every night,” said Vicki’s mother, Tui Letele.

Vicki was eventually diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer, and given just six months to live.

In April next year she’ll be eligible for parole, but there’s every chance she won’t make it that long.

“I want to be the one that gives her her medicine; I want to be the one who makes sure she’s clean. So I can help clean her,” said her mother.

“She’s really been given a life sentence here,” said Vicki’s dad, David Letele.

  She’s past being rehabilitated, is no risk to the community & I reckon that in this instance we can forgo retribution in favour of mercy to a dying woman.

On the other hand the victims of the fraud have the right to see justice done – unfortunately ‘human rights’ seems to be a one way street in favour of agitators and noise makers.

  I saw this last night and my initial thoughts were of the law.
  Whats the difference between wanting this woman released early (To this you need to have a law change) and naming Helen Kelly NZder of the year? (You also need a rule change).

Huma Abedin Clinton’s closest confidant, and aide for 20 years (likely closer than Bill), will be going to prison unless she gets spills her guts for immunity as a result of her declaring she had returned all confidential info to state dept when she left with Clinton (when emails demonstrate she didn’t)

Trump is closing the poll gap – will likely close further as polling reacts to yet more indications of criminal behaviour in Clinton’s camp.

I see the cricketers have been flattering to deceive again. After locking their series up with a solid win during the week, they bowled well in the decider to restrict India on a very good pitch. Then came the collapse: going from 63/2 to 79 all out in 9 overs.

Speaking of terrible performances with the bat ….

It’s crunch day (another one) for the Chicago Cubs in the World Series.

As expected I missed all of yesterday’s game and the way the evening went I didn’t even get a chance to watch a replay. Probably not worth it though. What I did not expect was that the Cubs would be blanked again. That’s the fourth time this post-season that they’ve failed to score any runs in a game, and against pitching that was not the greatest. Plenty of hits, plenty of men on base – and then nada! Meanwhile the Indians finally managed to push one across the plate in the 7th inning and that was enough. Tough, tense pitcher’s dueling from the top if the 1st to the bottom of the 9th inning.

I think they’ll come to regret that loss as today they once again go up against Corey Kluber, one of the best pitchers in baseball, who shut them out in game 1. Facing a 3-1 deficit after today would likely be too much. The odds are with the Indians.

Having said that, it’s exactly the situation they faced little more than a week ago when they were down 2-1 to the Dodgers and facing the same problem in the form of the dominating Clayton Kershaw – and of course they clobbered him.

Should be a great game at 1pm in Wrigley Field.

    Francoma’s approaching legendary status as a Manager, with a record of 10-1 already. With two excellent pitchers out with injury, he’s nursed the Indians through to this point. He obviously was aiming to use Kluber-Miller as a combination that would win three games and then scramble for the 4th, which would be doable even against the Cub’s defence.
    
    It’s a strategy that has to go absolutely perfectly and it has – and they may not even need Kluber for game 7 at this rate?
    
    Cubs still getting hits and men on base – but not pulling the trigger when it counts. Like just now.

    Cubs bullpen has really let it go.

    I expect the Cubs to win tomorrow behind Lester and facing Baur – but I can’t see them winning three-in-a-row.
    
    If we’re lucky we might get to face Kluber-Miller a third time in Game 7 – but not unless the young Cubs batters learn how to be more patient in their at-bats. They’ve improved since last year’s disaster against the Mets, but they need to improve more.

This has been floating around a bit on the net but it’s worth floating here…… what if Director Comey has been sitting on these Wiener emails since Weiner was brought in in September and thinks ………

“OMG they’re really bad for Hillary, if they get out she’s toast, if she’s toast then Trump is in, if Trump is in then I’m f***ed, but I’ve got all these FOI (ie OIAs) that mean I’ve had these emails for ages now and I’ve got to release these emails and now cos the 20 days are nearly up – what am I going to do?”

Comey calls the infinitely corruptible Loretta Lynch (ICLL) and cries her a river.

ICLL says “Don’t sweat little Jimmy – I have a plan so cunning we’re going to have to pin a tail on it and call it a weasel – write to the GOP senators and tell them you are re-opening the investigation!”

Comey poops his pants and looks blankly at ICLL “?”

ICLL says two words that solve all of Comey’s problems “Sub judice”

Comey’s tears dry up and he says ……..

“Ahhhh so they are the subject of an ongoing investigation, therefore I have grounds to withold them until after the election!”

The ICLL smiles and says “always remember when you are in the shit you must CHOOSE THE LEAST BAD OPTION!

NZME’s “star” [sic] Mike Hosking, on the other hand, lacks a sense of humour. That’s why he is far more unpopular than Henry.

If I was the FBI I’d announce they found 10,000 emails on Weiner’s laptop which were significant enough to require re-opening the investigation. The matter is in hand. Release ends.

Apparently Lynch asked Comey not to write to those ten Rupublicans on the grounds of a Justice Dept policy requiing all employees to refrain from publicly discussing investigations underway, when less than 60 days prior to the election date, in order not to influence them. But he replied and said he’d been asked to notify the committee members if any further developments arose.

His career obviously is over and the reason he did it in the first place, to list the things that made her guilty then announce she was free to go, is because Lynch asked him to: i.e. for his career.

But it seems to me he probably faced too much united internal pressure. Which is reassuring if true of the integrity in that dept, isn’t it. Not for him but for those others in it.

Those emails must be dynamite. I do hope they include details of the Special Access Programs discussed by that FBI agent in those links I gave yesterday. Those are programs that are never put on the internet and to which access requires physical presence at a secure facility because they include things like names of agents and the codes. And according to that guy whose been right so far about everything he said, Killary sold them for money. And that would mean Killary is Manning and Pollard level traitor material.

Why do the Left always bow to people with their own agenda and sign petitions that won’t do anything to help them but will give praise to the organisation that posted it.While it is true Helen Kelly died to young at the age of 52 and after doing every thing in her power as a Trade Union Executive to help her members this is no excuse to try to change a law to allow her to win NZer of the year. I am sure that there are many people out there that are fundraising and gathering promise’s of food to help the poor in ways that do not have the same recognition as Helen has that should also be praised but won’t get the same leverage of support that the people getting signatures for Helen are getting.

Hillary Clinton has failed to effectively contain the damage..

The fallout from the daily releases have raised concerns among Democrats that even if Clinton is elected president, the controversy will follow her into the White House.

The Clinton campaign has refused to confirm the authenticity of the emails and has sought to cast doubt on them at every turn, noting that the exchanges were stolen by Russian hackers and could have been doctored.

They have sought to deflect attention from the contents of the emails by describing the hacks as an unprecedented interference in the U.S. election by foreign adversaries that threatens the nation’s sovereignty.

And they have lashed out at the media for covering what they describe as trivial political minutia rather than the national security implications of the hacked emails.

None of it has been enough to staunch the daily flow of new emails published by WikiLeaks or the media’s interest in the contents of the emails.

Instead, interest appears to be ramping up over the final two weeks before Election Day.

Anyone with an internet connection can dig into the thousands of pages of emails, which have revealed infighting among Clinton’s top advisers, as well as new details about the millions of dollars flowing into the Clinton’s charitable foundation and personal bank accounts.

The campaign took another hit on Wednesday when a close confidant confirmed the contents of one of the more damaging emails, undermining the suggestion that they may have been doctored.

The email and attached memo, penned by longtime Clinton Foundation fundraiser Doug Band, has led to renewed calls for the charitable foundation to be shuttered if Clinton takes office in January.

Democratic strategists say that while Trump’s peccadilloes have so far largely distracted from the alleged revelations, Clinton will lose that cover on Nov. 8 if she’s elected president.

“That’s a big part of the Clinton problem; they’re so stubborn dealing with this stuff,” Democratic strategist Brad Bannon said, referring to the revelations about the Clinton Foundation. “They refuse to acknowledge anything and deal with it. Basically they’re strategy as far as I can see is whistle past the graveyard and just hope no one pays attention to it.

“That was easy to do because of Trump, but they won’t be able to do that after Nov. 8.”

The Clinton campaign’s struggles to put the daily stream of new revelations behind them comes as another email from WikiLeaks shows campaign officials were blindsided by fallout from the candidate’s use of a personal server while secretary of State.

“Did you have any idea of the depth of this story?” Podesta allegedly asked campaign manager Robby Mook in an email late on the evening of March 2, 2015, roughly a month before Clinton launched her bid for the White House.

“Nope,” Mook responded after 1 a.m. that morning. “We brought up the existence of emails in reserach [sic] this summer but were told that everything was taken care of.”

Since then, it has been a steady stream of embarrassing revelations that have begun to generate rumblings of concern among Clinton’s allies and have left Democrats on edge about what might come next…

The timing of Comey’s release I think should not be overlooked. He would have had an inkling something was there back soon after they started on Weiner.

So why now, is the question.

Obviously there is no question: Trump will no win. No doubt whatsoever.

So how was that very convenient timing arranged and by whom. The Russians will naturally be blamed. Not for infiltrating the FBI but for being the recipient of Weiner’s dreaded misdeeds. There are reports Comey talked to Putin on Tuesday their time where Comey asked: is Weiner one of yours? To which Putin replied, ask Aleksandr Poteyev, who was a CIA spy claimed to have died in an accident but almost certainly very much alive somewhere in the CIA’s witness protection program. Who knows.

But if true and we’ll know if the Russians are to be blamed very soon won’t we, where does Huma’s Muslim Brotherhood connections come in? Would the Russians really be so stupid as to pick an idiot like Weiner not only an idiot but in addition with a lifestyle highly vulnerable to both blackmail and attention from the authorities?   If we were to legalise use of hard drug in clinics at minimal cost, while putting the death penalty on use or possession outside of the clinics then we could eliminate huge amount of crime in NZ (that is used to pay for drugs).

A new report from the Anti-Defamation League confirms that one of the Trump presidential campaign’s odder legacies is the revival of a strong form of anti-Semitism in American political discourse. It’s occurring most notably on Twitter, which has become a platform for the constant dissemination of various Holocaust memes and ethnic slurs.

Anyone who, like me, is both Jewish and writes about politics on the internet will have noticed this casually. But today’s ADL report is the first effort to formally quantify the anti-Semitic speech on Twitter and illustrate clear linkages to Trump and the “alt-right” movements that support him.

Their study covers the period from August of 2015 to July of 2016, i.e., mostly focused on the meat of the Republican Party primary campaign rather than the general election. It found about 2.6 million tweets containing clear markers of anti-Semitic content, that combined for a total reach of 10 billion impressions. The ADL worries that the wide dissemination of these anti-Semitic tweets “may contribute to reinforcing and normalizing anti-Semitic language on a massive scale…”

I wonder whether the sad irony of the situation has registered with the congregation, the vast majority of whose members are leftists. Anti-Semitism is so rampant at America’s colleges and universities that teenage Jews need special training before entering this bastion of leftism.

During the High Holidays, I heard congregants moan at the mention of Donald Trump. That’s understandable; I had to suppress a moan myself (though not because Trump is at all anti-Semitic). But many of these same liberals found Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan chilling (though some will no longer admit it). As for George W. Bush, he was evil incarnate for many a Jewish liberal of my acquaintance.

Yet, it is the playground of the leftist social justice warriors — with whom many of my fellow congregants strongly associate — that produces the anti-Semitism my synagogue feels it must counter.

None so blind ….

        Many years ago I had a very old relative on my wife’s side who hated Jews with a passion. I’ve written about him here before; It’s de Joos – all the old Eastern European stuff. He was always trying to recruit me to the cause and once, when he found out about my farming background in NZ, he spent about an hour going into detail about the gruesome, cruel way in which Jews slaughtered their animals to produce Kosher meat. The agonised look on his face was priceless: clearly he felt the animals pain at the hands of the Jewish butchers.
        
        The same stunt is being pulled here. The fact that “Willie Pete” (as the GI’s of WWII called it) was developed for producing smoke on the battlefield, has been used as a weapon as well on occasion for almost a century, and in all cases by many different militaries – including by the USA, Maggie’s boys in the Falklands and the Russians up to the present day – is all to be put to one side.
        
        Like that old relative of mine with Kosher slaughter, the use of WP by the Jews is especially cruel and awful, somehow different to its use by others. Why it even gets called a “chemical weapon” nowadays – anything to help the Jew Hate.
        
        I think I almost prefer EAD on this issue: his Jew hatred – the term “anti-semitic” is too mild I feel – is open and he doesn’t try to be more sly than his intelligence is capable of delivering.

    As per the point Tom Hunter has been hammering for a few weeks, the popular vote has bugger all to do with who ends up with the presidency. Many of the electors of the Electoral College have committed to Clinton already & unless they have an epiphany the decision is a done deal.

      Given Weiner’s behaviour, and because cheaters always think everyone else is cheating, dollars to donuts Friday’s significant will turn out to be emails redirected from Abedin’s inbox/outbox to another device by a suspicious and malicious husband. And if that is the case then no court in the land will allow the case to proceed.

        Yes, it was all rather predictable that Weiner would be set up to take the fall isn’t it. However, these emails date back to when Huma and Weiner were still “happily” married.
        
        Huma lied though in her sworn testimony didn’t she, she didn’t mention this computer, more perjury; but of course perjury is not a serious crime and can and should be disregarded where people didn’t really MEAN to perjure themselves. Killary’s judgement has been so bad I’m beginning to think she’s got advice every step of the way from the neocons. Only they can fuck things up this badly. Normally millions die and countries are destroyed in one of their operations but this time they’ve only caused the death of their own candidate’s candidicy.
