I like to think I’m a modern sort of chap as regards sexuality – all is okay provided that it’s of age, that it’s consensual and that no horses get frightened – but I had to hunt up Wikipedia to find what the last two letters of LGBTIQ stood far!

It’s handy to have all the perversions enumerated.

It’s quite pleasing, in one respect, to see that the honours list includes those who suffer from Psychological disorders – such as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual, Intersex and Queer.

I think it’s important that our health system should cater for those who suffer from these disorders. The best thing we can do for them as a nation is to assist them with psychological help to enable them to understand who and what they really are – real live human beings who are either male, or female.

Otherwise, all we are doing is enabling them in their disorders – which will ultimately lead to their own destruction.

(It’ll be interesting to see who agrees or disagrees.) 🙂

I believe that as a nation we should offer you whatever help you may need to rid yourself of your deluded belief in the supernatural Don.

Many years have elapsed that I have considered all these things – but one thing is patently obvious. We are all either Male or Female – any deluded belief is that some may think we are neither of those.

You actually surprise me – even self professed atheists would believe generally in only two genders.

With the exception of a few true hermaphrodites I’d go along with that Don…..the vast majority of us are born with sex organs sufficient for classification as male or female. Nature is not always so precise when it comes to allotting sexual identities.

I agree that the entire argument as pushed recently is off the wall & heading for outer space but I don’t think you can deny that there are people who are men in women’s bodies & vice versa.

In the “good” old days they were told to harden up & act like everyone else. It made for a nice, tidy conformist society but it sure screwed over some people who did nothing to deserve their lot.

Actually nasska, I agree with your comment.

Where I grew up, I knew a person a couple of years older than me who, even though she had some of the physical appearance of a male, she was definitely female, and at the age of about 13 when she had developed breasts, had some medical interruption to complete her condition.
In saying that, she did not have a penis and testicles, but there was a physical malformation which demonstrated that her “maleness” had not developed since she was in the womb, and that her vagina had not properly developed. It was from these physical attributes, and her obvious development physically as a female, that she had her correction.

She went on to marry and have children.

Has anyone noticed that the village idiot, the one smelling of stale cat pee, has not been heard of since she received a visit from the council concerning her dodgy water supply.

Since you’re only a few years older than me I’ll hazard a guess that this was in the late 50s or early 60s. The fact that she actually had children suggests that she was a female with some unfortunate plumbing design faults & it would seem that this tale had a happy ending.

What although of people whose physical traits don’t align with their gender identity? It used to be the practise to assign gender entirely based on physical characteristics. I seem to remember a report of a boy whose cock was rendered completely useless when a surgeon butchered it during a circumcision….without further ado he was raised as a girl & made female through surgery & hormones.

Now imagine if she had become Mrs Don the Kiwi. She’d be miserable & so would you & everyone around both of you. This is the price religio/conservatives are prepared to pay for very little gain to society.

Not far off nasska.

It was in the mid ’60’s. and I recognise that these extremely rare hermaphroditic physical distortions do happen.

I don’t have the answers, but what I do have answers for are those who, although completely physically are definitely male or female, and who claim that they are one of the other queer distorted genders, are totally deluded and require psycholgical assistance for their disorders.

I entirely disagree with that comment.
Once she had her surgical correction, she was completely happy with her situation. I actually knew her – she was Maori, and married a bloody good bloke – also Maori. As far as I know many years later, her kids grew up well, and they were all comfortable with their life in the community and their whanau.

God bless ’em. 🙂
