No you’re all wrong apart from Shunda that offers no opinion. EAD was extremely specific, you’re lying when you say he predicts this all the time. The only question is, are you lying because you don’t want to admit in public that you were wrong, or are you lying even to yourself as an ego protection mechanism, by genuinely hallucinating a falsehood to disguise from your consciousness if not from others, that you actually understand nothing about the world?

Shawn Jackson, 22, of Miami died from severe self inflicted injuries as he attempted to do the viral social media trend, #DontJudgeChallenge.
When nominated on social media to participate in the #djchallenge, where people record themselves looking “ugly” and then proceed to transform into a “prettier” version of themselves, Shawn Jackson took it to is social media to ask what he should use. When a follower suggested that he use battery acid on his face (who claimed it would come off with ice water), Shawn Jackson took up the challenge.

Together, with his girlfriend, they went to the store to purchase some battery acid. According to the girlfriend, she was initially “concerned” about what he was about to do, but helped him anyway because she “felt bad”.

Recording the challenge for the Vine, Shawn Jackson poured battery acid into a container, then splashed it on his face. Within minutes, Jackson began to scream, the battery acid slowly eating away at his face.

When the police & ambulance arrived at the scene, they found Shawn Jackson lifeless on the floor of his bathroom. Unresponsive to CPR, Shawn was pronounced dead at the scene. “He went into cardiac arrest from the shock,” the coroner claimed.

Onslow College is about to upgrade some female toilets to a gender neutral space, which will be available for all to use.

Wellington High School was the first to introduce gender neutral bathrooms.

Have you seriously never seen a gender-neutral toilet? You walk into the cubicle, which is self contained, lock it behind you and go about your business.
These are quite common in the real world. Perhaps more common are toilets for people with disabilities. Wheelchair accessible, these are usually gender-neutral as well.
You should get out more.

I was having a piss while attending union meetings at the National Library many years back when the female PSA rep wandered in and went into one of the cubicles. The women’s toilets were down on the next floor and I guess she couldn’t be arsed with the walk downstairs and back again. Civilisation didn’t come to an end.

Sorry if I am restarting a debate from earlier, but hey, it’s a chance to convince me…

There has been many comments like V2 above today, but I can’t get my head around adding another drug (albeit less harmful than our current one) into a society that obviously doesn’t have the maturity to handle it. We are shocking with Alcohol, shocking with illegal drugs, why would we not be shocking with more legal drugs??

Why would things change much. Everyone I know who wants to smoke cannabis can grow or buy it now. Legalising it probably wouldn’t involve more people using it.

In fact, should it be sold in the same way as alcohol, it would be much harder for under 18s to access than now.

Harder for Kids is a marginal call that I disagree with
The gangs will still want their $$$, they will try for it in other ways. I think the gangs is actually a seperate issue we need to face and sort out.

But by making it cheaper and safer (the one thing we agree on so far) that must increase its reach, it makes it more affordable and easier to consume more of and more often.

Drug driving, drug fueled crime and the negative factors of overuse will also increase. Is that a compromise we are happy with??

I ended up involved with a gang to score, I had several options to score.

I hear your arguments and know them first hand… Yet why would our self destructive binge culture change overnight?? It won’t. We will just add another layer to the problem.

Sort out the way we drink, and then talk about dope…

Been there, done that, bought the T shirt. As a dry alcoholic (15yrs) I reckon I’m up to speed with the effects of both dope & grog.

Personally, I credit marijuana as being a great help in getting off the booze & staying off it so I have a bias. For all that both are readily available to anyone with cash in their pocket. My point is that we would only be legalising what is happening anyway but the government would have the income rather than the gangs.

As an offside I’ve always considered that there are a significant percentage of losers who just want to spend most of their lives off their faces. Alcohol, dope, meth, glue….whatever’s available….laws be buggered.

Kids in poor areas see gangs as a glamour career path because they have lots of money.
Most of it comes from selling pot …making it legal will also reduce the attraction of gangs for poor kids .
Places were pot has been legalized have seen a reduction in both crime and road accidents.

A night drinking was mischievous and stupid
A night on both was chaos and led to trouble.

Take out the percentage who have learned the lesson and will handle the change, a massive chunk of NZ
Take out the percentage of anti social fucks who are a pain in the arse regardless of law and consequence
What is left is an unknown group of people who currently can’t handle one drug, look at A&E and the weekend cells as someone already mentioned. Now add another stimulant! It seems crazy until we sort out the drinking!

Just removing the money from the gangs, allowing people to grow their own for their own use and maybe a few friends. Allowing farmers to farm and export etc etc.

Every time we change laws or reform drinking it seems that 10-15 yrs later we see the unintended consequences, there are always some.
So what if a political policy was made, give 10 yrs to review Colorado.
In that time actually take on the gangs. Particularly meth.
Get serious with alcohol reform and education
Decriminalise a small amount of pot ( 1 plant growing, .5kg dry)
Raise drinking age and age allowed that small amount of pot 20.

At the 10 yr mark if society can handle it and Colorado going OK lift restrictions.

Thoughts?

Yes, there can be a reaction between the two but not as most people think. Marijuana usually brings on an attack of ‘the munchies’ but in some partakers it stimulates their thirst & ups their alcohol intake. Anecdotal for sure but I’m certain that’s what happens.

And I wouldn’t call marijuana a stimulant. Not unless you’ve happened on a particularly potent sativa. 🙂

I think our drug policy should be based on reducing harm to society from recreational drugs .
All drugs should be evaluated on the social costs of their use and their potential for abuse.
Restrictions on use or supply should be on a sliding scale based on this potential for harm .
Any commercial market should be taxed to cover the cost of harm to users and society the drug causes ..
I also think that we need compelling evidence to justify restrictions on freedoms. What a man can do to his own body in his own space is his business . Under my idea of basic freedoms it is up to government to find compelling evidence to restrict a drug or action not up to users or potential sellers to prove it is safe .

I’ll tell you what fucks me off – is this just me ? Newsreaders who smack their lips to start the next headline. I think it was Samantha Hayes who just kept on doing it. I don’t need a kissy-kissy every time you open ya mouth you stupid tart. Who told her to do that, huh ? Oh – it’s speech preparation – helps you to speak clearly . . . *get bent* – it’s deliberate – no-one does that all the time. Only weirdo newsreaders. Who you don’t need. Get a robot newsreader option. Robot doesn’t need to smack its lips – how do they think that that is not going to be *fucking irritating as hell* – ah yeah – totally normal, who cares ? Pricks. I’m going to notice, aren’t I ? It’s offputting, isn’t it ? Can’t you just talk a bit normally ? I had to turn her off of course. She doesn’t have the greatest kiwi accent either. Sounds like a lot of kiwis. Like someone shoved their hand up their arse and punched their throat up behind their nose. I try to listen to talkback – those dumbarse hick broad accents – what a bunch of retard sounding little muppets. I tell ya – no kiwi was ever conceived while one of the parents was yapping. G’day – it’s ya old mate the maaaaaad butcher. I think that’s what he’s saying – not too sure. I have to turn him off at lightspeed. What a total c&%t !! Not just good at butchering meat.
