C. C. Little, president U. of Michigan, checked persons listed in Who’s Who in America: “Unitarians, Episcopalians, Congregationalists, Universalists, and Presbyterians are … far more numerous in Who’s Who than would be expercted on the basis of the population which they form. Baptists, Methodists, and Catholics are distinctly less numberous.”

Ament confirmed Little’s conclusion. He noted that Unitarians, the least religious, were more than 40 times as numerous in Who’s Who as in the U.S. population.

2. Lehman and Witty, 1931
Identified 1189 scientists found in both _Who’s Who_ (1927) and American Men of Science (1927). Only 25% in AM of S and 50% of those listed in Who’s Who reported their religious denomination despite the specific requests to do so, “religious denomination (if any).” Well over 90% of the general population claims religious affiliation. The figure of 25% suggest far less religiosity among scientists.

Unitarians were 81.4 times as numerous among eminent scientists as non-Unitarians.

3. Kelley and Fisk, 1951
Found a negative (-.39) correlation between the strength of religious values and research competence. [How these were measured I have no idea.]

4. Ann Roe, 1953
Interviewed 64 “eminent scientists, nearly all members of the prestigious National Academy of Sciences or the American Philosophical Society. She reported that, while nearly all of them had religious parents and had attended Sunday school, ‘now only three of these men are seriously active in church. A few others attend upon occasion, or even give some financial support to a church which they do not attend… All the otheres have long since dismissed religion as any guide to them, and the church plays no part in their lives…A few are militantly atheistic, but most are just not interested.'”

5. Francis Bello, 1954
Questionnaired or interviewed 107 young (<= 40) nonindustrial scientists judged by senior colleagues to be outstanding. 87 responded. 45% claimed to be "agnostic or atheistic" and an additional 22% claimed no religious affiliation. For 20 most eminent, "the proportion who are now a-religious is considerably higher than in the entire survey group."

6. Jack Chambers, 1964
Questionnaired 740 US psychologists and chemists. He reported, "the highly creative men [jft- assume no women included] … significantly more often show either no preference for a particular religion or little or no interest in religion." Found that the most eminent psychologists showed 40% no preference, 16% for the most eminent chemists.

7. Vaughan, Smith, and Sjoberg, 1965
Polled 850 US physicists, zoologists, chemical engineers, and geologists listed in American Men of Science_(1955) on church membership, and attendance patterns, and belief in afterlife. 642 replies.

38.5% did not believe in afterlife, 31.8% did. Belief in immortality was less common among major university staff than among those employed by business, government, or minor universities. The contemporaneous Gallup poll showed 2/3 of US population believed in afterlife, so scientists were far less religious than typical adult.

(1) Good on TV3 for giving people what they want – non-pregnant hottie girlmeat vixens presenting the weather. Someone called Ingrid melted my TV with a sizzling white number and 45 degree high heels – yeah baby. She doesn’t need to stand on some stupid angle and stay there like a statue to stupidly try and lessen the look of being knocked up for six. How on earth is anyone meant to think about anything other than . . . ‘whoa – that is one seriously, really really really pregnant chick. Look at the bloody size of that thing. This feels like the opening sequence to Star Wars when the Star Destroyer just keeps on and on and on taking up the shot for a good minute. It’s the hard-on detroyer.’

(2) Some dumb hicks up north I think voted fluoride out of their water. And they’re anti-vaxers too. Ok, that last part might not be true. Far North ? Far Out. Third world style – smile – and the whole world ~~smiles with you~~ runs screaming at the horror.

(3) I wonder what PB did to help stop the Wellington SuperCity ? I suppose without her it would’ve gone ahead then ? Whatever noddy.

(4) Watched something called Story. Fat white woman Anabel (spelling?) helped someone called Duncan Garner shop for a family of four on a budget (was it $100? $150?). Shit she was irritating. Baked beans – baked beans are really good. Full of protein. *and full of salt – it’s really just filler rubbish – 70c for a tin – must be really high quality ingredients in there*. Mussels, hello ? Fuckin shtiheads. Peas, eggs. $1 nasty shit bread ? Rice, pasta ? Cheap shitty high energy low nutrition filler foods for the feckless. Don’t forget yoghurt. Ok, Weetbix but even then – it’s just high carb shit. Make sure you eat the biscuits and recycle the carboard. Easy mistake to make. They had to put Weetbix in there because it’s just such a kiwi kliche, eh ? Our good friend cheap shit mince. Sausages (guessing cheap).

At the checkout they’re ‘under budget’ so Mr ‘I’m fat and normal’ goes back for I think 5kg of chicken drumsticks. They are shitty pieces of chicken. I try to get thighs or even mixed portions depending on price. Some brands they should be had up and re-name them ‘sticks’ – no meat on the bastards. They went to some Indian shop for the produce – didn’t pass the sniff test for me – probably a total rip-off. Oh yeah – they ‘came in under budget’. $1 bread ? Why do people *have to* eat bread every day ? We’re so fucking poor – no bread – oh no. It’s shit – only eat it because they grew up eating the shit. Don’t eat the $1 duck bread. Even the ducks would kick your arse trying to give them white puke. Oh – but they got the ‘wholegrain’. Read it. Wholegrain for $1 ? Wholemeal. There’s a difference. You don’t get jackshit for $1. And anyway – it’s a loss leader so you won’t buy your fags and booze and lotto at the opposition. TV shopping is always total BS and out of touch with what really goes on or what people could be doing.

It’s just too much mate – trolley full of the grain group with some fatarse throwing in bread, rice, pasta and cereal for the full house or carbs, meat and dairy. Baked beans are really good !! Please. I hope no-one watching took them seriously.

(5) Today’s ‘random’ pns receipt. Nappies and junk food. Every time. What have we got this time . . .
44 items $104.46. Served by cultural diversity. ActII popcorn, cad dairy milk 200g, cadb d/m bubbly, eta spuds r/salted x2, eta spuds salt & vin x2, huggie boy24, silk frag free baby, v energy can x2 @ $2.59 (ouch), s/remo s/snack cr ba x3, s/remo s/snack mac&c x4 (this person seems to be into a lot of health food), pick n mix $9.80 (*faaaaark!!*), budget cheese slices (blocks are hard to cut up), country gdns dip s/c x3 @ $2.39 ($7.17 on that shit). Plums and tomatoes. N/land banana berry x2, N/land choc cus x3, N/land mango/apple x3.

That’s a fucked up food pyramid. Guessing: the kids don’t have a hope in hell.

Teenage girl admits making up migrant rape claim that outraged Germany”

A 13-year-old Russian-German girl has admitted making up a story about being kidnapped and raped by migrants in a case that triggered a furore in Germany and briefly embroiled Berlin police in a spat with the Kremlin, state prosecutors said.
The parents of the teenager, named only as Lisa, reported her missing on 11 January after she failed to appear at school in the Marzahn district of the capital. She reappeared 30 hours later with injuries on her face, and told her parents she had been attacked by men of Middle Eastern or north African appearance. News of the incident spread on social media, sparking outrage among Berlin’s Russian-German community.
But when she was questioned by trained specialists three days later “she immediately admitted that the story of the rape was not true”, said the spokesman for the state prosecutor, Martin Steltner.
