Seriously though, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if someone in the Maori Party came out in sympathy for “poor Dolphy…another victim of colonization”

As a bit of an aside, I had a great chat the other day with a young tyre fitter, a former mob member, who recognized me as “that three strikers cunt”..At first I thought I was in for a beating, but he AGREED with the law! He had done 2.5 years as a first strike (I’m sure there were others before that) and had wised up and decided “fuck that…I’m not going back.” He has even tried to get the local cops to allow him to talk to young guys in this area who are at risk of going down the path he did.

What was most pleasing was when I asked him to tell me exactly how 3S works, he was spot on, and said all the boys in jail know about it. That may well explain why there is a significant drop in second strike offending over the past five years compared with the five years prior to 3S.

So that’s one guy reformed, another who couldn’t or didn’t want to, and checked himself out. All good, as the current vernacular has it.

Pushing 60 is way too old to be taking on a 25 year old kick boxer..But what pleased me most was that he had the 3S scheme exactly right: “My next lag I wouldn’t have no chance of parole, and then if I done something again it would be the whole fuckin lot” I asked him what “the whole fuckin lot” meant, and he correctly answered that it would the full term for whatever strike offence he committed.

Members of a religious faith can be just as much be stereo typed as a member of a race like American Indians , Africans and so on.

Yoza; that Clint Rickard case highlight to me why this whole process of with holding evidence from juries is just fucked. So many miscarriages of justice (Peter Ellis et al) result from info being withheld that is highly pertinent yet falls technically foul of the frequently anti-justice rules of evidence. Why are jurists judged to be somehow magically more balanced and better at dealing with this info than ordinary citizens?

If evidence is tainted then it should be presented and explained why it is tainted, juries are all reasonably well educated and citizens tend to be less judgemental these days than the bad old days of the 19th century when they were less sophisticated. It would also massively streamline the justice system if there weren’t endless litigation and re-litigation of rulings related to evidence or various disclosures. Lawyers would loose out, but I doubt standards of justice would fall noticeably.

I have listened to several “interviews” of Penny by dear old Vinnie. It would be fairer to call them the Penny Rant Show. It would appear that Penny has a bitch about most people she comes across. Suprisingly unless Penny is getting her way then the whole thing is wrong. She views with suspicion anyone who does not have a “proven track record”
However one big laugh was her statement that she was a professional protester and could organise a protest in an hour. Then she went on to say that she had organised a protest against the American Defense Secretary with herself an ONE other. Bloody priceless.
The woman is a bloody loon and should be locked up for her own saafety.

You’re probably right about blood, David… As you know, my own brother has had and continues to have many brushes with the law. I know him to be an absolute shit head when it suits him. I also know the charming, generous and loving brother that he can be.

Maybe we just don’t to forget the happy, athletic, intelligent boy that once was. Only this weekend I attended the wedding of a cousin who was destined to a life of imprisonment. But he met a good strong woman and his life is changed…

And many of us do speak up. In our own way. But we’re not spokespeople for all Maori. All we are, are voices of opinion.

Statistics just released from the UK Top Medical Team, reveal that men between 60 and 80 years of age will, on average, make love two or three times per week (and a small number a lot more), whereas Japanese men in exactly the same age group, will only make ‘whoopee’ once or twice a year – if they are lucky.

This has come as very upsetting news to me and most of my mates, as none of us had any idea we were Japanese.

The point I was attempting to make with the post about ‘Roast Busters’ and ‘the police rape culture’ was we cannot hold an entire group responsible for the reprehensible behaviour of a few within their midst. If you accept that New Zealand males generally are disgusted by the antics of the ‘Roast Busters’ and the New Zealand police do not condone what happened to Louise Nicholas, then it must follow that the sexual abuse of women carried out by some Muslim men is not condoned by all Muslims.

The Romans have censored themselves to make visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani feel more comfortable during his historic stop in Italy.

Rouhani – the first Iranian leader to visit Europe in almost 20 years – met Tuesday with Pope Francis at the Vatican, but another stop on his agenda was the famed Capitoline Museum, where classic Italian nude sculptures were covered with plain white boards to avoid offending the Muslim president.

Italian news agency ANSA said the nudes were covered out of respect for Rouhani. Nonetheless, the move wasn’t going over well with many Italians on social media, some of whom lambasted it as “absurd,” and “embarrassing, servile behaviour.”
