As Pompeo wrote in my linked article above –

“Those signatures represent the commitment of the signatory and the country on whose behalf he or she is signing. A signature also serves to make clear precisely who the parties to the agreement are and the authority under which that nation entered into the agreement. In short, just as with any legal instrument, signing matters.”

1) “They” are not being “let in en masse”. Apart from six hundred refugees in family groups who have gone through a UN process to determine their refugee status, would-be Muslim immigrants have to undergo the same immigration requirements as everybody else. The top sources of immigration to NZ are India, China, the Philippines, the UK and Germany. Last year NZ gained just under 60,000 migrants net.

2) We are not being gagged from speaking.

3) What exactly are the MSM and politicians in NZ covering up? Your evidence?

4) That video is about the EU. The approach by the NZ government is completely different (see above), and so are the results.

Labour MP Phil Twyford has tabled a petition calling for an investigation into the decision not to proceed with charges against John Banks and Don Brash as directors of the Huljich KiwiSaver scheme.

Twyford won’t comment on the petition, which is the work of former Auckland mayoral candidate Penny Bright who is incensed that Banks, the minister for regulatory reform, escaped having to defend himself in court for signing a prospectus that contained false and misleading statements.

The petition now must be considered by the Commerce Select Committee, made up of nine MPs of which five are from the National Party. The petition has drawn a firm response from the Financial Markets Authority that such an inquiry is unnecessary. Its predecessor, the Securities Commission, was responsible for the decision not to prosecute.

Banks has been on the end of Bright’s activism before. In a statement he said: “I would never comment on anything this person has to say.”

Fund manager Peter Huljich pleaded guilty last year to a charge that prospectuses for the Huljich KiwiSaver scheme were misleading because they contained graphs and performance information that was misleading because prospective investors were not aware Huljich had injected his own money into the fund following losses made on investments he had selected.

Bright, who campaigned against the establishment of the Auckland super-city council, said she started the petition in frustration, and has publicised her move in a letter to all MPs in which she says the decision by the Financial Markets Authority not to prosecute needs to be investigated.

“I formally request that each and every Member of the Parliament of New Zealand personally uphold the principle of `one law for all’ and support this request for an urgent inquiry into why fellow former directors of Huljich Wealth Management (NZ) Ltd, Don Brash and John Banks, were not prosecuted … for signing the registered prospectuses which contained untrue statements.”

Bright, who stood against Banks as a candidate in Epsom, goes on to say: “If `mum and dad’ investors are to have confidence in the finance and related industries, then I believe that directors must exercise `due diligence’ before signing documents such as registered prospectuses, and be held accountable in a Court of Law, if they have not.”

She said she was very concerned that the failure to charge Brash and Banks, can be “perceived as an arguably corrupt form of political protection”.

The FMA said the Securities Commission “obtained the advice of respected counsel on this issue. That advice was then reviewed and confirmed by a Queen’s Counsel. The commission considered that advice and the results of its investigation carefully.

“It formed the view that there was insufficient evidence to show that either Dr Brash or Mr Banks would have known that the prospectus contained misleading information.”

It went on to say that to the best of FMA’s knowledge, the decision was not influenced by political considerations.

Considering this with your allegations in recent days that the SIS is looking for spies to watch the Pakistani cricketers, I am concerned that you may be suffering from acute paranoia. This could be one of the Stephieboys team, or a couple, or perhaps the whole lot of you. I am just a layman, but I doubt the continuing symptoms could be caused merely by over-enthusiastic forehead banging on the prayer mats.

Perhaps one of you might contact the Muslim Institute of Psychiatry in the Islamic Republic of Stephiestan for permission to contact a Western psychiatrist in NZ.

[Note to Jack5: DO NOT INCLUDE THIS IN THE POST – Our agents report the Stephieboys are displaying suspicion they are being followed. I’m a bit of a Beetle-geek on the quiet, so I can tell you that the 1000th British Army VW was produced in March 1946.

There was no “policy change”. The Allies (as that JCS document shows very well) wanted to completely dismantle the integrated Facist state war machine, decentralise and democratise the country and allow the German people to re-build.

I’d love to see what equivalent documents looked like post the removal of Sadam…

I shall not be apologising to John Banks for anything, and, in my considered opinion, believe that both he and Don Brash, as former fellow Directors of Huljich Wealth Management (NZ) Ltd, should have been equally charged for signing Registered Prospectuses which contained misleading information.

The total funds involved, being $8.5 BILLION from 200,000 investors.

Anyone who stands up and says that they want to preserve NZ culture and lifestyle as we have now is automatically labelled a racist and bigot by leftist and media circles.
The only publically acceptable view in this country is that everyone is welcome and NZ values and culture count for nothing and are all tradeable to keep everyone happy and living in diversity bliss.
Well I for one will never subscribe to this as I am proud of NZ and reckon our way of life is worth standing up for and protecting from all the hoardes out their who want to convert us to their stoneage ways of living and barbaric customs which have no place in country like NZ.

errr ….Keeping Stock – it would be up to the Court to decide whether or not John Banks was innocent or guilty.

It is my considered opinion that John Banks (and Don Brash) should have been equally CHARGED along with Peter Huljich, as they were all equally fellow Directors of Huljich Wealth Management (NZ) Ltd, who all equally signed Registered Prospectuses which contained misleading information.

They were NOT equally charged – so John Banks and Don Brash never appeared in Court.

In my view, that was wrong.

You made a post at 11.22 today which was pertinent, interesting and informative and deserved better responses from other KiwiBlogger’s, that it didn’t was probably because they were wary of a lengthy and tedious response from you.

You have lost your audience, keep your post’s at about the 11.22 am level on information and length and Kiwi Bloggers may start to respond.

Some dodgy finance companies are back in the market place and loan sharking is rampant with companies using sports stars in their advertising. Mainstream media seem to turn a blind eye.

But apparently it seems you haven’t set aside the equivalent of your unpaid rates, arrears and penalties in an account to be at hand should you be shown to be wrong.

Nor after a reasonable period of time have you changed your position.
One or two years should have shown your protest to be ineffective, especially in relation to others who are paying rates, difficult as that may be for them to honestly follow “one law for all”.
So you have communication on the issue at the whim of a judge – tomorrow, next day, whenever. What an ineffective way to run your campaign.

And while you quote part of the law, section 40 something part g or f, whatever, you choose to ignore section 60 which sets out specifically what you should be doing under the same law.

Further, you can not point to even one act of corruption in the Auckland Council that you have revealed since its inception in 2010, to justify the position you take.
You are not a public watchdog – but a rates parasite.
That you are standing for Mayor is ludicrous.

But having stated this, my firmly held but personal opinion, I join those others who have realised the futility in ‘engaging” with you, and so will make no further comment about you or your issues.

So I leave to you, Penny, the last word. Fill your boots.

Stephie – what I am referring to is the ongoing push to tone down all aspects of NZ and western culture so we don’t offend anyone who is not comfortable with it.
We have had discussions in recent years around Christmas, Feng Shui and undertakers, Hijabs in court and lots of other associated nonsense.
This is NZ and this is how we do it, if you want to follow other stuff then stay in the place you came from as it has no place here and never will.
That should be the message given instead of all this crap about NZer’s need to adapt and be more tolerant.

But Penny; it was YOU who was going on last week about the presumption of innocence, and how people were entitled to be “innocent until PROVEN guilty”; YOU are the one who made that an ISSUE.

Are you now saying that we cannot challenge you on that because you want to change the subject? Let me remind you that this is NOT your blog, and trying to control the discourse herein whilst DPF is in a faraway place is not only exceedingly arrogant, but it borders on cowardice.

Let’s deal with some FACTS Ms Bright. You said you stood against John Banks in your own words “in order to focus public attention” on what you perceived to be an issue of corporate governance. It is a FACT that neither the Financial Markets Authority nor the Securities Commission elected to prosecute Banks. It is a FACT that you have slandered John Banks through social media and blogs, and it is a FACT that during the Epsom campaign, you wilfully defaced Banks’ biilboards; by your own admission. It is also a mathematical FACT that 124 as a percentage of 15,835 is 0.78%, and that the 124 votes you managed to secure after your campaign to “focus public attention” onto Mr Banks was a staggering 0.34% of the 36,354 votes cast in the electorate contest in Epsom in 2011.

Ms Bright; I have said this before, but I will repeat myself. Your behaviour towards John Banks reeks of hypocrisy, and you apply a different standard of guilt and innocence to him that you apply to your friends and colleagues. Mr Banks was acquitted of the trumped-up electoral funding charges because the evidence of your mate Dotcom was proven to be unreliable. Mr Banks has never been charged with any criminal offence in regard to Huljich Wealth Management (NZ) Limited, yet you continue your jihad against him in a manner which is quite probably actionable (one of the “purported” lawyers on here may have a view on that).

Lastly, you profess your desire for “one law for ALL”, whilst simultaneously being the defendant in legal action brought by Auckland Council, at a cost to every Auckland ratepayer, myself included. None of us LIKE to pay rates, but almost all of us DO, because we are good citizens and we have a legal requirement to pay rates on our properties. Even in the “one law for ALL” arena, your hypocrisy is astounding.

The varying styles and levels of language, even the varying tone are abundant evidence that “Stephieboy” is used by more than one poster. My guess is about three or four of them use it.

When it comes to demented, you, Griff, are one of the nastiest posters who have ever inhabited Kiwiblog. You have smeared posters you disagree with implications they are pedophiles. You have called others wife beaters. If someone criticises one of your favourite pursuits, cannabis smoking, you retort that the criticiser is a rampant alcoholic wife beater, or even a pedophile to boot.

Urbane, civilised chap. But for a cannabis addict to talk of going about his lawful business is a bit of a stretch.

The Stephieboys confirm they are probably the most racist posters on Kiwiblog in their 12.26 post with an obvious reference to Manolo as “The Indonesian”.

For months, the Stephieboys have made racist remarks about Manolo’s ethnicity. They are obviously angry that a person from a mainly Muslim nation, but now settled in NZ, dares criticises Islam.

This position is evidence that the Stephieboys, purporting to be “multicultural” or tolerant, in fact are pushing Islam in New Zealand.

In the meantime, either leave Manolo’s ethnicity out of it, Stephieboys, or fuck off back to Stephiestan.

I don’t care where Mai Chen is from — NZ is a free and open society — and the people have always integrated themselves very well into the wider world. And people who come here – and if they make the effort – fit in. No one has ever said that NZ’s culture is 2nd rate and should be dissolved. It does not need to change.

Why doesn’t Chen ask the Tiawanese why they are so ‘Asian orientated’ in their cultural makeup — and why they haven’t got more Muslims from the ME and Africa. And Pigmies. Nothing needs to be down in NZ.

She is just another in a long line of progs who have the ear of Clark, Key and co – so her piss poor ideals are to be expected.

Was interesting watching Rubio talking about immigration into the USA and he said the UN has no background information on refugees.
I am sure there are groups that wish to exploit the situation and plant their people among genuine refugees.

We in New Zealand need to review our approach to immigration and refugee checks.

Andrei. 9.44. Although not an American War Memorial the 911 memorial outside the Christchurch Fire Station was vandalised by some scum a few years ago. The memorial was made up of steel girders from the twin towers. There are some real low life drops kicks in our society who do not deserve to breath.

I think if you actually looked into how little alcohol is required to get negative out comes you would be surprised. You and many others probably exceed the guidelines without being aware of the safe limits or the harm it does do to those who exceed them .

Evey time alcohol comes up we get commenters proudly boasting about their alcohol consumption.

Like….
I only drink a bottle or two of wine a night , my tolerance is higher than a young person so it is not a issue, every day in moderation is not an alcohol problem or I only binge drink occasionally.

Griff, the point is: at times, you really make unfounded, untrue and wild allegations in your posts. They go too far. The fact that the targets are nearly always writing under pseudonyms lessens the offence. Hell, if ever, by some other comments or whatever, the pseudonym is linked with a person’s identity, you would be in trouble, and worse and unfairly, possibly DPF as the publisher of the blog would be, too.

Before you accuse me of ranting, here’s evidence from a third poster (that is, not me) in General debate early last year illustrating how you at times go far too far (the poster addressed this post to you, Griff):

I know things have been heated, but calling someone a wife beater and hinting they may be a pedophile is not remotely ok, and it’s likely to get you another time out.

– Locally manufactured iconic goods (chocolate fish, “Watties Tomato Sauce” (Heinz), pineapple lumps, etc.)

The list goes on.

Something that has come from this. Penny is of the opinion that you can be charged by association. eg, John Banks believed tat the document he was signing was correct, based on the information from his fellow director. The fact that the other director hid information and lied by ommission to Banks, is no defence as far as penny is concerned.

So therefore, should someone on her campaign team get her donations return wrong, which she will have signed, she has no defence right? remember, in Pennys world, you are guilty if you are responsible even if the people you rely on lie to you.

I really hope Penny picks a good team and that they stay on her meds. would not like to see her have to go to jail for being dodgy. after all, being the ethical person she is, she would have to follow her own rules.

She posted the email post the event that shows she was in it, but to my knowledge (as i tend to glaze over most of her nonsense), she has never shown proof she was invited. its quite likely she simply applied, begged, pleaded etc.

After all, she puts a huge value in her being invited as some sort of sign of stature in her windmill tilting. but there is a big difference in being invited as an expert and begging to be part of some survey.

Penny has demanded the rest of us answer questions, chance of her answering any of ours? likely nil.

Aussie and NZ far out strip Taiwan on those meaures – aussie has the same size population – and is far more diverse.

So again — why is Chen wanting to further change NZ when NZ is already ‘very very open’ by international standards?

The 2016 Jihad Starts In France: The French New Year began like the old one ended – with a terrorist attack and government obfuscation.

” The New Year in France started much like the old one ended – with an Islamic terrorist attack.

But there was one noticeable difference. In 2015, the Islamists at least had the courtesy to wait until January 7 before launching the year’s first homicidal assault, targeting the Charlie Hebdo offices. In 2016, however, the terrorists were so eager to bring their jihad to France’s streets they did not wait even a day.

On January 1, a Muslim, originally from Tunisia and possessing French citizenship, drove his car at “high speed” at four soldiers guarding a mosque in Valence. Fortunately, the vehicle missed the soldiers who “narrowly avoided” death at the hands of yet another would-be killer from the religion of peace. Ironically, the soldiers were protecting the mosque from Islamophobic acts.

Having failed to strike his targets in his first pass, the driver “put his car in reverse in order to renew the charge.” But the soldiers were quicker. After refusing to obey their order to get out of the car, they fired a volley of bullets, three of which struck their assailant’s arm and leg, severely wounding him and ending the attack. One soldier, struck in the knee by the car, was also hospitalised.

While jihad attacks in France in 2016 were as predictable as night following day, French officialdom’s reactions to the New Year’s Day assault revealed, however, how far removed from reality it truly is.

Like the Fort Hood attack, which was ultimately labelled ‘workplace violence’, the word Islam, for example was never mentioned in any official response. In fact, it was first announced that the assailant’s motives were “unknown.”

This is most peculiar, considering the attacker was yelling “allahu akbar” during his murderous charge, and “images of jihadist propaganda” were later found on his computer. He had also just attempted to kill four French soldiers, not once, but in two successive attempts. Right after his capture, the attacker also openly declared his desire to “knock down the soldiers, attack them, to possibly kill them as well.” He also hoped “to be killed by the military,” indicating martyrdom was also a motive.

The closest anyone came to mentioning Islam or jihad as a factor in the attack was when an official said “he (the assailant) uttered a certain number of words, showing there was a connection between his action and a certain religiosity.”

This contortion of language would make Houdini proud.”
