“Manawatu Standard” running a lead story on how churches in Levin are pushing to take bogus refugees. Maybe these do-gooders take full resonsibility for them, because this is another area where rates are out of control, bureaucracy and fiscal mismanagement appalling, and a lot of unemployment. When are these church types going to awake to the fact we, those that are paying taxes and rates, don’t bloody want them, and don’t deserve them. They cost both ratepayers and taxpayers too much, do not assimilate, don’t want to work, and abuse properties in which they are housed. Wake up before it is too late, Levin appears to be a nice clean and respectable community, don’t turn it into another Muslim ghetto.

To put things in perspective, the former central area was in decline prior to the first earthquake events 4 September 2010, with 6,000 entities and around 50,000 workers.

So the numbers indicated within the article suggest the area on completion will be about 30% of its former size.

The Government entities have been forced back in … in the main … at much higher rentals than they would need to pay in the suburbs. But hey … the taxpayer pays … not the politicians !

The Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) noted in a recent report, that since the first earthquake events, half the new housing to date has been built in the well-run and responsive smaller adjoining local government areas of Selwyn and Waimakairi … with associated business of course ( e.g. Selwyns IZone ).

The Press needs to be very clear on the massive demographic shifts underway. Demographics is destiny !

Further confirmation that the fix is already in has been confirmed with the appointment of the ref for the final, and the news that the NZ captain is not going to face the judiciary for his outrageous act of dirty play. It is now clear that McCaw can do what ever he likes on the field of play and get away with it.

As for the ref, I really don’t know why the IRB bothered appointing a ref at all for this game, they may as well just give McCaw the fucking whistle such is the NZ captains influence over Owens.

What a pity, this final could be a great advert for a minor sport, instead we are going to watch two teams playing out an event which has already been decided.

Ironically these ‘refugees’ will be Muslim so they will immediately be at odds with the established Godists, and won’t even enter the churches because they despise the cross. How deliciously ironic, if these migrants settle in Levin, that they call for the church crosses to be taken down because it offends them. Why on earth do hand wringers migrate to churches?

big bruv apparently still believes that McCaw elbowed Francois Louw, despite it being pointed out several times that the collision was in the hip region. From one angle, it looked like a connection with the elbow, but that was a bit of an illusion.
Nice to know though, that big bruv takes some comfort from an Australian thinking the Australian loose forwards are superior to ours.
I’m also wondering why big bruv pays such obsessive attention to this ‘minor’ sport.

The clip that I saw shows, without any semblance of doubt, that it was McCaw’s hip that hit Louw and that his elbow was well clear. BB is a pathetic troll on the issue of the All Blacks. So big bruv believes that butter wouldn’t melt in the mouths of Michael Hooper and David Pocock. Perhaps he has forgotten Hooper being suspended for a dangerous shoulder charge in the match against England, and David Pocock receiving a post-match yellow card warning after kneeing a Welsh player in the pool match.

It was obvious to anyone with even a passing knowledge of IRB appointments procedures that Owens was getting the final when he was not appointed to referee one of the semi-finals. He has clearly been the best referee at the tournament, and is especially good at the breakdown, unlike Barnes and Garces at the weekend, who were pedantic and inconsistent respectively.

The best thing about Owens’ appointment however is that he will let the players get on with the game, and with the attacking intent that both sides will bring, this could be (weather permitting) the most open Rugby World Cup final yet.

Football Federation Australia has shafted the Wellington Phoenix yet again. They will only negotiate a four-year licence renewal for the club, which wants the security of a 10-year licence, still only half of what is being offered to some dysfunctional Australian-based club.

Word leaked out last week that FFA favours a third Sydney team in the A-League which is only going to dilute support for Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers. It is clear that FFA has a Sydney-centric agenda, which is now surprise given their CEO David Gallop’s history; when head of the NRL, he had a long-running feud with Melbourne Storm, once describing their fans as “terrorists” because they booed him when he presented the 2011 Minor Premiership to the club. Gallop left the NRL suddenly and unexpectedly in 2012, having just been offered a fresh four-year contract.

The best ref at the tournament has been Wayne Barnes, he should have been given the final. But no, if the IRB had appointed Barnes the NZ team would have been most upset and the IRB will never do anything to upset the precious men in black.
Instead we get a ref who is an admitted NZ fanboi, one who will make sure that the result goes the way of the NZ team.

As for Pocock and Hooper, you actually make my point for me. These two have been treated as they should by the judiciary, they committed foul paly and were dealt with in the correct manner. Mandk, I agree with medical cannabis.
The concern is those who abuse drugs for the high rather than for true medical reasons.

Strong opiates are not easily obtained on prescription unless a patient has been diagnosed with a very serious illness. A level of care needs to be in place for medical cannabis to stop it being prescribed for less severe complaints, as appears to have happened in the USA, etc.

Taxpayers are footing the bill for an incident with a model sheep at the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment’s Christmas party last year.

According to reports on TVNZ, the sheep was an inflatable bought from an adult sex store and cost $170 to hire, with the bill rising to $745 after an as-yet-unknown incident.

Bill English, as acting Prime Minister, stated that it is “good for the kids” to keep morale up at MBIE.

MBIE chief financial officer Iain Cossar said he wasn’t in attendance at the party:

“I don’t know what happened to the sheep. I’m not happy about what happened to the sheep but something occurred during the course of the evening and we’ve had to repair them.”

Labour’s economic development spokesman, David Clark, said the incident and the resulting cost to the tax-payer was “sheer nonsense”.

“Taxpayers are being fleeced for inappropriate schoolboy antics at a government department”.

Ok what happened to the sheep. Has anyone got pix from their cellphone. Was Starboard there? Doe’s Reid think it’s a conspiracy, and where is Penny on this?

The unspoken thing is, it was loose monetary policy and the financial system misallocation of that money that led to the GFC – there has been an effort to improve bank capital ratios but one wonders if that increase will be enough given the amount of QE money floating around.

As for Pocock and Hooper, you actually make my point for me. These two have been treated as they should by the judiciary, they committed foul paly and were dealt with in the correct manner. However, when the NZ captain commits a series of far more egregious sins he is slapped with nothing more than a ‘don’t do that again sir’ penalty. It is a fucking joke and a rort.

Can you point out what sin he committed? There was NO elbow to the head. His hip/thigh contacted the shoulder of the South African player as he ran a line with his eyes on the ball.

Jackie 5, no I had reasonable grounds to believe that the Indonesian ( ?) was making a snide remark about not only the Gulf states but especially Muslims in general living there and in the ME. He may wish to clarify ?

I have never claimed he was Peruvian , but I understand he is non white and as per above ? Manolo may like to correct me though about his race and ethnicity !

Having just returned from my morning coffee I read in the cafe the leader column of the Herald. I have not taken the rag for a number of years.
However I am staggered to agree with the outline of what it says – simply
Auckland Council ? vote on deep sea drilling exploration has sweet FA to do with you or any other local councils (eg The Holy city of Christchurch, and many piss pot other LOCAL Councils).
I also read elsewhere that the Liar Len has the casting vote and he will vote against it.
Goff is in favour I understand, but he is a natural hypocrite (like Liar).
I voted for the Government to whose responsibility I give to make decisions in the national interest the not to a few mindless stupid hypocrites who believe they are above all such decisions and they alone are almighty.

stephieboy, If you’re talking about how Hillary presented herself during the hearing on Benghazi then yes she did quite well, but it was all theatre – putting her hand on her chin every time a Republican asked a question – feigning boredom – ho-hum. As far as substance, if you look at what was presented, she has some serious questions to answer about why she lied.

The reality is that what the media Clinton-enablers are saying about it and what was actually revealed are two different things. As I posted yesterday, we know for a fact (Hillary wrote it in her own emails) that the video excuse was a lie to deflect from both her and Obama’s foreign policy ineptitude. She told the Egyptian Prime Minister, the Libyan President and her own family in emails that it was a terrorist attack and NOT a protest, as she claimed.

So they fabricated the story about protests over a “despicable” youtube video.

By the way, the hearings aren’t over yet. Hillary was just one witness. What we learned from the hearing is that Hillary is a liar – albeit a very skilled one. But then, she’s had a lifetime of practice.

I was under the impression that Manolo knew his way around a chessboard but wasn’t aware of his nationality.

But he does highlight an interesting conundrum for the Middle East – the very product that keeps their economies afloat is going to cause uninhabitable conditions within their countries. And with low oil prices they won’t have much of a cash buffer to deal with the situation going forward. Will be interesting to see their point of view at the Paris talks (if indeed they are there).

Thanks for setting that straight Kimbo. Manolito was the eye candy of the show, and also the wise one who managed to solve all the problems Buck and Blue Boy caused. Still stands up today as one of the better westerns, a great programme back then.

But the simple fact is that Owens is the best referee at the tournament, because he allows the players to play the game, unlike Barnes who is pedantic, and looks for reasons to blow his whistle. As a former senior club grade referee, I know from experience that players relate best to a referee who just lets them get on with it and acts as the 31st person on the field, than at “gotcha” merchant like Barnes who leaves everyone in no doubt that he is #1.

And anyone who knows anything about how World Rugby or its predecessor the IRB works will know what a bizarre suggestion bb is making when he says “The fix is in”. World Rugby is UK-centric, and the fact that the final of their showpiece is an Antipodean extravaganza will be pissing them off majorly. If anything was fixed, England would have beaten Wales and Australia, and been playing this weekend.

Put it this way, SPC: When it comes to truth and the journey seeking to discover it, I like to keep an eye on the destination, rather than revelling in the ‘richness of the journey’ and giving equal credence and merit to every possible and potentially crazy fork in the road…which may actually lead away from that destination.

So discarding non-viable options is not always pride, but necessary mental hygiene. Which, I’d suggest, is how most folks live. So why should theology and the objective meaning of a text, biblical or otherwise be any different?
