The point at which she should have got suspicious

Stuff reports:

A Waimate pensioner has lost most of her life savings after believing scammers who promised her a reward.

The woman, who declined to give her name, said on Monday she could not bear to tell anyone she knew how she lost over $27,000.

“I feel like such a fool.”

Scammers called her on August 21 at dinner time, purporting to offer a refund from the Inland Revenue Department for consistently paying tax on time.

“They said: ‘The Government is going to reward you’.”

That’s the point at which you should figure out it is a scam!
