Since Starboard was a chopper pilot in Vietnam he’s getting a bit long in the tooth for this sort of thing. By my reckoning he must be pushing 70 & even if he’s sticking to ugly ladyboys, sooner or later the excitement will cause his ticker to give up the struggle.

Then we have to factor in the alcohol in the beer fighting the antibiotics & the encroaching knob rot.

Come home while you’re still able to Starboard. Have you any idea of what it will cost your estate to repatriate your diseased body to Christchurch? 🙂

You are right Nasska, if he was flying choppers in Nam, that would put him between 60/70 years of age.

The Ambidextrous Lady Golfer

A group of men live and die for their Saturday morning golf game. One transfers to another city and they’re lost without him.

A new woman joins their Club. When she hears the guys talking about their golf round, she says, “I played on my college’s golf team. I was pretty good. Mind if I join you next week?”

No one wants to say ‘yes’, but they’re on the spot. Finally, one man says. Okay, but we start at 6:30 a.m. He figures the early tee-time will discourage her. The woman says this may be a problem, and asks if she can be up to 15 minutes late.

They roll their eyes, but say, “Okay”. But she’s there at 6:30 a.m. sharp, and beats all of them with an eye-opening 2-under par round. She’s fun and pleasant, and the guys are impressed. They congratulate her and invite her back the next week. She smiles, and says, “I’ll be there at 6:30 or 6:45.”

The next week she again shows up again at 6:30 sharp. Only this time, she plays left-handed. The three guys are incredulous as she still beats them with an even par round, despite playing with her off-hand. They’re totally amazed. They can’t figure her out. But she’s very pleasant and a gracious winner. They invite her back again, but each man harbours a burning desire to beat her.

The third week, she’s 15 minutes late this time, which irritates the guys. This week she plays right-handed again, but narrowly beats all three of them. The men grumble that her late arrival is petty gamesmanship on her part. However, she’s so charming and complimentary of their strong play, they can’t hold a grudge.

Still, this woman is a riddle no one can figure out. They have a couple of beers in the Clubhouse, and finally, one of the men asks her, “How do you decide if you’re going to golf right-handed or left-handed?”

The lady blushes, and grins. “When my Dad taught me to play golf, I learned I was ambidextrous,” she replies. “I like to switch back and forth. When I got married after college, I discovered my husband always sleeps in the nude. From then on, I developed a silly habit….

Right before I leave in the morning for golf practice, I pull the covers off him. If his Willie points to the right, I golf right-handed; if it points to the left, I golf left-handed.”

The guys think this is hysterical. Astonished at this bizarre information, one of the guys says, “What if it’s pointing straight up?”

She says, “Then, I’m fifteen minutes late.”

At a guess to get into the stage you are flying choppers you would be couple of years in the forces.
say 25 years old to be a combat ready pilot officer .
starboring recons he was into nam 1971 with w3.
That makes him as nasska says around 70years old.

The fantasy comes from.
1 w3 an infantry company.NZ choppers pilots are in the air force .
2 w3 left nam jan 1971 when star bore claims he went in.
3 The yanks pulled out of Nam 1975 star bore claimed to be in Nam “cleaning up” till 1976.
4 Star bore first post from Thailand had the days forecasted maximum as the actual conditions not what it was at that time in Bangkok.
5 His thai times have been of by a number of hours.

It is time New Zealand and Australia attended the South Pacific Forum as guests – funding it, but allowing the island states to have their international voice through the Forum without us getting in their way.

The grievance over West Papua is valid, and we have silenced the Forum voice on it for too long. Our claim to represent the small nations on the UNSC is shown to be the lie that it is on West Papua, we silence their voice.

In service to whom, Rio Tinto?

If our economic and political relationship with Indonesia is more important to us than acting in accord with the Forum’s wishes we do not belong on it.

I have to guffaw at this post when Cameron Slater calls himself a supporter of free speech. There are many passionate but well meaning politico type people I know that have commented on WO that are not single issue wonks that have been blocked.

They simply wrote a comment that criticized Slater’s world view or highlighted the failings of the National party, and in a fair way. He just did not like them apples being fired back so he or his nazi delete squad hit the block button.

That is not journalism that supports free speech, that is bullying.
