The police have no interest in solving the case because “Rewa is already inside” and not about to be getting out. I would also mean that they had to admit that they stuffed up and got it wrong big time culminating in a massive miscarriage of justice and, as we both know, that isn’t going to be happening anytime soon. The NZ system of “justice” is a joke and needs a massive overhaul!

Add to the uncertainty in the markets right now, we have the Reserve Bank of NZ, commenting on the Auckland property bubble, saying people moving to their next home are being hurt more than first-home buyers.

Reserve Bank deputy governor Spencer is reported by the Hooerald as saying:

“The resurgence in Auckland house prices over the past year has made the Reserve Bank increasingly concerned about the risks to financial stability. It is certainly on our ‘what keeps us awake at night’ list.”

When I was approaching the end of my regular two-Air Force military career I had no ‘qualifications’ that would excite any potential civilian employer.

So I went to part time Uni at Vic and got myself a BA degree in – wait-for-it – Political Science!!

Political Science!! I ask you! What over-qualified, screened from reality, academic numpty dreamed THAT one up?.

Oh i got it, of course. No problem-o, and I got a nice certificate to hang on my wall to let the World know what a smart b—– I am.

But, seriously folks, whilst i was attending Uni I saw for myself the hollow emptiness and all-done-with-mirrors nature of much so-called Tertiary education.

Don’r get me wrong! There are, of course, valuable, meaningful degrees to be had in medicine and disciplines of that nature

But there are also what I came to regard as ‘playtime’ degrees – such as ‘Media Studies’ mentioned above – that had clearly been put together to give some Academic University Lecturer a smooth career ride well away from the dreadful, frightening and demanding pressures of actually making a living in the real World with a meaningful qualification.

Yes! Going to Uni sure opened my eyes and dispelled once and for all the former awe and respect i had for people brandishing a line of initials after their name!

(I should sign of as ‘Akaroa BA” !!)

If you mean the New Zealand justice system is a joke because a multi- murderer was acquitted at his retrial then I would have to agree with you.
I am sure if the police could find enough evidence to prove Rewa was guilty of murdering Susan Burdett then they would come out and say so.

The Government is changing “arbitrary” national Easter Sunday trading restrictions.

The decision to allow shops and garden centres to stay open will be handed to councils.

Retailers have welcomed the proposed change but a union is unhappy about the loss of guaranteed days off for workers.

Under legislation set to be introduced within weeks, all councils will be able to allow trading within their boundaries or within smaller, specific areas.

Workplace relations and safety minister Michael Woodhouse said the new trading rules were unlikely to come into effect until 2017

BUT,
Oderings Garden Centres director Darryn Odering welcomed the news of a law change.

“We think people should be allowed to shop when they like,” he said.

But Odering believed not also changing the Easter Friday law was “not helping me at all”.

“It is just tinkering with a bad law.

Got a way to go yet. Shanghai is just returning to its norm before the spike. I would like to see the Dow retreat to around 10,000 points. (I have no idea what it will do. If I did, I wouldn’t be posting on this forum, that’s for sure.)

All I can say is the time to buy is when there’s blood running in the streets.

The good news for me is that the yen is recovering against the Kiwi. (Go you good thing!) Around 70-75 yen to the Kiwi would suit me fine.

Just one last thing. I recon no one in NZ under the age of 47 has any experience with a real recession. (How did I come up with that?) Well, the last “crash” in NZ was in 1987. Only of graduating age or older (20 years old +) would really have noticed. That means that if they had been born after 1967, they probably wouldn’t really have noticed the crash as it wouldn’t have affected them directly. Those kids who were 20 in 1987 are now aged 48.

This means that most younger Kiwis really have no idea how nasty a red-blooded recession can be. Also, the Asians have only really known good times (with the exception of the Japanese) in the last 25 years.

Beneficiary on TV1News complaining she bought a $3,000 exercise machine convinced Work and Income would pay for the machine. She has anxiety and a few aches and pains so feels she can’t run outside. She took her complaint that Work and Income turned her down to the Social Security Appeal Authority who ordered the Ministry to pay $2,000. Work and Income appealed to the High Court. Is it right that a beneficiary should expect the taxpayer to pay?

A beneficiary advocate says it is great she showed initiative to fix her problems… He says this case could have big implications.

Great! How much has this cost the taxpayer already!

Any working Kiwi with medical issues is not able to ask the taxpayer to pay for exercise equipment yet this beneficiary EXPECTED there not to be any issue with reimbursement.

What is the cost of the Govt taking this stupid recommendation by the Social Security Appeal Authority to the High Court on appeal?
It is obviously worth paying the large cost to fight against the Sunsami of claims for equally selfish reasons that this woman expected our welfare system to pay for.

I don’t think Key can be blamed for property prices as such but he sure can be blamed for the massive fuck up that is Auckland governance through the Super City legislation. He had his chance to make a great influence in NZ but he is a UN stooge social engineer so for that I give you an up tick.

This will have nothing to do with shoes, heating or food but will be because the Left will change the definition of poverty to something that makes them look good.

Fitness in evolutionary terms is a measure of an individual’s ability to leave offspring that, in turn, can reproduce and leave offspring.

The fastest breeders are the fittest (assuming their offspring are capable of breeding).

Before McCully and his MFAT minions go overboard supporting Ukraine against Russia, they should be sure present day Ukraine has stopped glorifying its Nazi-allied “hero”: Bandera.

The Ukrainians have some horrifyingly nasty World War 2 crimes to abjure. People point to Japan and contrast it with the way the Germans have fronted up to their World War 2 past, but in present day Ukraine, Bandera, the World War 2 pro-Nazi leader, remains a hero to many.

The widespread atrocities against Ukrainian Jews by Ukrainians as well as by Germans were appallingly cruel and beyond despicable. The Banderites also slaughtered thousands of Polish civilians. If the Ukrainians want to be allied to the West they need to stop Bandera worship.
