Prime News showed the heaving throngs cramming the streets of Auckland in protest against the rates increase.

They interviewed one of them (the other two or three seemed to be holding some old sheets or blankets). It seems that they have vowed to pay the rates at the same level as last year. Penny was there. Presumably she is amongst the vowers. Does that mean that she will pay the same as last year (ie nothing) or is she actually going to pay some rates albeit with a 15% discount?

I wonder how those genuinely struggling to pay huge increases feel about someone who is exacerbating the problem by refusing to pay anything and putting the council to significant expense by way of recovery costs?

Did anybody else just catch the clip about Phil Rudd on ‘Sunday’?

It would just about be the worst piece of journalism I have ever seen. They hauled out some hooker to tell the world that Phil Rudd likes to bang his whores without wearing a condom. The angle was that this was all Mr Rudd’s fault and that the scrubber had no power to say no. Mr Rudd was portrayed as the one putting their health at risk.

Only later on we found out why the scrubber said no, it turns out that Mr Rudd has paid her over $10,000.

Not surprised the Gweens are silent on Solid Energy. On the one hand they’d love to criticise the Govt for mismanagement, but on the other they should be stoked that a carbon industry is shutting down. Oh, the dilemma.

This is why they’re the most distrusted “profession.” Not that there’s anything professional about them.

Even the conservatives are fools.

Look at Hoskins the peacocke and Henry the court jester.

We don’t have a profession anymore, what we have is a bunch of airheads who are too stupid to know a story if it rears up and smacks them in the face (the majority) and a bunch of whores (the minority) who know what they’re doing but who lack ethics and responsibility consequently will bray whatever angle they’re told to, to “make it compelling.”

Nazzy – shift work and pleasantness of work are variables depending upon the exact job they’re doing. And even level of qualification beyond graduate. Let’s say they’re underpaid. Because they’re women and it’s a female dominated job sector ? If so – how so ? Based on what ? I think overall they seem to be doing ok – yes, they’re qualified and yet – $47K starting rate fresh out moving up to 50-60 in a few years ? $52K at 40 hours is $25 / hour. $62K is *$30* an hour – it’s not exactly peanuts, is it ?

I think they might be suggesting that they want it shut down (hence the comment on new jobs on the Wet Coast) but are carefully avoiding saying it. They are dancing on the head of a pin with this one. The media really should run with it and give us some entertainment whilst they squirm. On the other hand, my current popcorn intake has resulted in a bit of weight addition so maybe that’s not such a good idea….

Here’s a mayor that makes Len Brown look frugal.

First he shut down Sydney and now he’s shutting down the internet with a “must-see” pre-wedding video.

I noticed your effort regarding the TV1 programme Sunday re Phil Rudd just before I posted
a similar thought.

That would have been the worst non story I have ever seen on any TV current affairs programme.

Every person assosciated with that segment should be ashamed of themselves, and they picked that
load of nothing crap to be the lead article of Sunday tonight.

Who is the producer responsible for screening that crap ?
Why didn’t Miriana Kamo refuse to front such a load of puke.

If there is any person out there who viewed that utter puke and got something out of it….What was it ?

I felt embarrassed just watching it after I realised the whole thing was simply,,’Phil Rudd paid some whores
to have sex with him without using a condom and they said OK.

General TV: Sunday – TVNZ award winning current affairs. Their first ‘story’ was The AC/DC drummer’s preference for skin to skin sex with sex workers. The poor me sex worker – poor wee darling. It’s not her fault she’s a sex worker – bless her. She had to fuck this fella and do it unprotected – we’re talking big money. The money’s too good to say no, who could blame her ? She got herself checked straight afterwards of course. How responsible of her. That’s good because all STIs show up the next day especially Aids. I’ll bet she waited the right length of time for the all clear for Aids and what have you before having more condom free sex.

It was just a bullshit gossip story dressed up as ‘an issue’. Pathetic. I don’t mind bullshit gossip but why the ridiculous insulting pretence ? He had porn going in every room. Good for him !! He had ten women or whatever. Yeah – ok. And ? So what ? He mumbles. Just bullshit reveal all expose tabloid gutter blabbing.

Story two was better – still dumbed down beyond belief like someone telling me don’t draw the sun with the green crayon but hey – I enjoyed it.

I don’t what kind of award they might’ve won – fastest to the bottom ?

The only other female dominated professions that require tertiary education I can think of offhand are education & social work. The pay scales are similar & the ceiling is a little lower.

My point is that in these two instances just about any garbage degree will do. A BA in some cultural or humanities crap isn’t vaguely comparable to the effort required to complete a nursing qualification based on science. Most teachers have to be kept upright to stop them dribbling out of one corner of their mouths & social workers are worse.

Nice hypothesis but no chocolate fish. 🙂

Just back from a weekend away at the rural getaway and catching up on Kiwiblog and it’s incredible to see some people’s reaction to a good All Black win ….

What is the deal with Longbruv/Bigknives – are they the same person?

If this poster hates the All Blacks so much, why does he still watch them?

Judging from his rage, I can only assume any girlfriend he ever had cheated on him with Ritchie Mcaw ……

Longbruv – if you’re reading this, my suggestion is if ya don’t like them, don’t watch them!

Myself, I enjoy watching the ABs as they are damn good at what they do.

Whether you consider them just another form of bread and circuses or not is each persons prerogative but nobody can’t but admire their sustained level of excellence over so many years.

A common practice on blogs is to connect to a link. Sometimes it is just a link to a recent story development. But often it is a matter of presenting evidence to support a position – what that is made clear in the post or inferred by what the poster has said at other times.

This explains why someone might jump to conclusions about motive for ugly’s link to the octopussy “gene capture” story.

Of course as has been explained to us at great length over the years, we are not supposed to associate the information imparted with its origins – white race sites, conspiracy theory sites, or alternative media collectives – nor associate these with those who link from the blog to them. As this would make it so much easier to present the information as credible.

And this explains reid’s rant, after all we are not to presume anything regarding past form and or the site people link to.

PS, is there some sort of CT union, whereby if one subscribes to one of the many available, then one is beholden to solidarity with others of the union?
