So Little wants a new anthem. Just wondering what kind of public consultation process he has in mind for doing that.

Perhaps some public workshops; a chance for the public to submit alternatives; and a couple of referendums to decide the matter – the first to choose the best alternative, and the second to decide whether to go with the new anthem or keep the current one.

What do you reckon?

It,s not up to politicians to put up these ideas along with the commensurate manipulation of process etc.

They are there to represent the people and what they want not, the other way round.

i saw a good movie this afternoon. ‘Best of Enemies’ is about the TV debates between conservative William F Buckley and liberal Gore Vidal during the 1968 US presidential election. Sounds pretty dry, but it was compelling stuff. Highly recommended. Showing a couple of more times during the film festival.

5. Accusations PP profit off aborted foetus parts – presumably opposition to babies in need being donor recipients

Changing the flag will not have any constitutional effect at all. It’s a symbol of the nation that does not affect the legal form of government one whit.

Or have you already looked at it when you completed your doctorate of laws, with a specialty in constitutional law?

You think you know these things because you assume if there was a word of truth in it then it would already be common knowledge because someone would have put it up, if it was true, and because they haven’t, therefore it isn’t.

That’s what you think, isn’t it.

We all know that the left are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Many times the left have been warned that to attack John Key is to prove that they are the party of envy and that this turns off potential voters.

Once again the A grade tosser using the name Mickey Savage proves that he is a very challenged slow learner. He constantly uses the sub standard to post his anti John Key comments. Although he is a classic FW of little intelligence the National Govt needs him to keep posting to ensure another term. Keep up the good work National needs you.

He and angry Andrew make a good pair. Both are without any charisma and when making common sense decisions, completely out of their depth.

I hear that Savage is a solicitor but that must be bullshit as he is too thick.

Yes SPC. I’m skeptical myself. Unlike you however, I don’t pretend I’m an expert in esoteric legal questions and I keep an open mind about the possibility, pending further investigation.

No Excuses, Bring Unsigned TPPA Home for Scrutiny as Malaysia Will

Malaysia will not finalise and sign the TPPA without thorough scrutiny by its Parliament – but the National Government is denying New Zealanders this opportunity, says New Zealand First.

“New Zealand First is calling on the government to bring an unsigned TTPA home so it can be considered by the public and Parliament just as Malaysia says it will do,” says Spokesperson on Trade Fletcher Tabuteau.

“While the Malaysian Trade Minister said the decision to sign or reject the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement would be a collective Malaysian decision, New Zealand Trade Minister Tim Groser arrogantly said Kiwis with concerns were acting like ‘breathless children’.

“Mr Groser and the government are condemning us to a treaty that appears to have little trade benefit and lots of potentially harmful clauses. Even the heads of New Zealand’s primary industries are in panic mode as the clock ticks without major dents being made for more access into overseas markets.

“Malaysia is wisely looking after its nation’s interests and its people’s welfare.

“It is standing up for itself.

“We must put New Zealand first as the Malaysians are doing.

“As the Malaysian Trade Minister said today, he is taking responsibility to ensure that the country’s constitution, sovereignty and core policies of the nation are safeguarded and upheld.”
