PRIME TV’s Back Benches: 3 June 2015
THIS WEEK ON PRIME TV’s “BACK BENCHES”: Watch Wallace Chapman, Damian Christie, the Back Benches Panel and special guests discuss the week’s hottest topics!
RENTERS FOR LIFE: Are we moving towards being a nation of renters? Is this a travesty or just the new order? What’s wrong with being a life-long renter like New Yorkers or the French? And if we are to become a nation of renters-do we need to put more protections in place for renters? A WOF for homes? Rent Control? And if you aren’t going to investing your money in a home-where should we be encouraging people to invest their money?
ZOMBIE TOWNS: Is Auckland New Zealand’s black hole, sucking all of the jobs, opportunities and people away from our regions? What can be done for regional growth? Is it about creating incentives? Building of new infrastructure? Better roads? Or is it better to just let the market economy sort things out?
JUNK FREE JUNE: Cancer Society’s Junk Free June has just started-kiwis around the country are sacrificing lollies and chips to raise money for cancer. Could you give up junk food for a month? What do you consider junk? And are we a nation addicted to poor food choices? Is a month off of junk enough to cure you for good? Should we be taxing the junk? Or paying people to make better choices?
