Latest poll

I’ve blogged the latest poll at Curia.

On it National would have 62 seats, Labour 32, Greens 16 and NZ First 8.

The poll was taken over the period 08 June to 21 June 2015 according to the Curia page
Looking back through Whaleoil’s archives, the current scandal regarding Colin Craig’s behaviour didnt erupt in earnest until June 19th, by which time the polling was all but completed. If the poll was taken now the result would be closer to 45 people….
The Conservatives are finished by the look of them.

Well, so much for the housing bubble / Nicky Smith impact on National.
And so much for the Saudi trade/farm/McCully facilitation deal scandal?.
And so much for the continued “gotcha” questions to J Key by Labour and their fellow travellers.
My hope is that they will stay asleep. 🙂

Labour will be lower when MSM have the decency to release details on $6 million unaccounted for at EPMU. Why has Little Andy not been attacked on this? Maybe his influence over media unionists is more entrenched than one realises!

Is there really still that many people who’ve never noticed we haven’t had a Labour government produce a sustainable economy for over 50 years ?

Not sure why they class Dunne as CR (Centre Right). He’s actually AWWGMECP (Anyone who will give me a cabinet post). He’s the ultimate I don’t care where as long as I’m there politician. By vetoing the government’s RMA reforms he’s also personally responsible for blocking changes which would do the most of any single policy to help the poor and middle classes, locked out of the housing market. If I was his barber I’d intentionally nick his earlobe!

I doubt it will stop them supporting Labour. Their mentality is fighting the man and they are too dim to notice their beloved social engineering government hasn’t severed them for over 50 years so they’ll forget about this as soon as they read it – if they bother to read it after detecting negative things being said about the union in the headline.

Whyever would anyone imagine that the polls would suddenly reverse?

The National-led Government is essentially continuing the policies that have seen it win 3 elections on the trot.
The parties on the Left are essentially continuing the policies that have seen them lose 3 elections on the trot.

I would not be at all surprised if the next poll has the Conservatives polling increase. There is a lot of water to flow under the bridge on this latest scandal.

A herd of sheep MIGHT be ‘highly predictable’ – but they tend NOT to go back in the direction from which they (happily) bolted 7 years ago without seeing either something truly dreadful in front of them or something truly wonderful behind them.

Neither of those scenarios ‘fit’ the present political landscape, ha.

In front centre of the herd is John Key’s smiling, dare I say Messianic visage (and with no need of Helen Clark-style hair-dying, teeth-whitening, teeth-straightening, scowl-removing, and six-inches-of-pancake-make-upping…), ushering in a glowing future.

Behind the herd is the same old tired old mob – Goff, Shearer, Parker, King, Mallard, Moroney, Dyson, yawn, the list goes on – all tied to the same old tired old (and discredited in three straight elections now!) theory that the State knows best, that beltway issues that have no traction with the public are worth spending question after question after question in the House on, that (e.g.) Teachers are so wonderful that we should just give them what they want and certainly not hold them to any standards that you and I are subject to, ditto with the Unions…

Where are the new policies to make any sheep think of turning?

The truth is that there can be no such policies since:

a) Any such policies will of necessity be ditched at will after a Left-winning election because the views (currently) of Winston First and the Red Greens will need to be taken into account for coalition-forming purposes.
b) Any policies that ARE released will all feature much of the ‘Let our Expert Panel – no, you needn’t know any more. Trust us!’ that will decide what needs to be done after a Left-winning election
c) Helen Clark has cornered the world market in hair-dying, teeth-whitening, teeth-straightening, scowl-removing, and six-inches-of-pancake-make-upping supplies and that, sadly, what you see on the Labour front bench (epitomised by Angry Andy and Antagonised Annette) is all Labour has to ‘offer’…

There are plenty of policies but no leader or party currently in place to deliver for voters unfortunately. To achieve polling success and overcome our rabid left wing media and scumbags in the blogosphere you need to be hugely popular before entering politics (so why would you bother), Superman as leader and a multi millionaire.

NZ is a tragedy going nowhere and anyone that believes John Key and National or Andrew Little and Labour are motivated to move us forward into prosperity are very deluded. They are personally motivated but a visionary is not into self interest.
