FFS, ease up on the firearms laws so we can defend ourselves. The State isn’t going to defend us.

To paraphrase Baron Parke: if statute is absurd, repugnant, or inconsistent with law then it isn’t law.

… principles of literal construction were qualified by the so-called “golden rule”, described by Lord Wensleydale in
Grey v Pearson (1857) 6 HLC 61; 10 ER 1216 at 1234 with effect that:

“the grammatical and ordinary sense of the words is to be adhered to, unless that would lead to some absurdity, or some repugnance or
inconsistency with the rest of the instrument, in which case the grammatical and ordinary sense of the words may be modified, so as to avoid the absurdity and inconsistency, but no further.”

The ridiculous thing about Kos is that all those “refugees” have come through Turkey ,our great friend and ally, to get to Europe.
I don’t doubt for one second the Turks are sending them across to Europe instead of doing the right thing as a responsible member of the international community and looking after them ( yeah right) and other members of the EU know it but don’t have the balls to send every last one of those Muslims back to Turkey where they belong.
