What I should also have said in my earlier comment (and by far the most wicked thing you have done) is your campaign defending the church against the endless charges of child rape and sexual torture. Not only have you tried to downplay this horrendous crime but you have brazenly attempted to lay the blame at the feet of others, or, claim that it was not as bad as has been reported.

Well this could be interesting. ‘A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night’ is being dubbed the first Iranian horror movie. It was not filmed there, for obvious reasons, but is set in a fictional Iranian town, features an all Iranian cast, an Iranian-American director, Ana Lily Amirpour, and is in Persian.

It’s getting very high praise on the art house/horror film circuit, and won best short film at the Noor Iranian film festival.

Based on the trailer I just watched it looks outstanding.

Having observed your thinking from afar for some years Lucia not just on KB but on Antartic Lemur, I seriously and with all respect, don’t think you could handle the truth, even though I judge in my own hallucination that you sincerely believe in your heart and your mind that you really could and you really do want it.

You’re just too tied up emotionally in a certain perspective, and that’s fatal when you’re searching for truth.

You have to be open to anything. Literally anything. While still possessing all your critical faculties and all your memory and all your personality. And you just aren’t there.

That actually has been the case before. I have one book that I want to read that I have trouble reading. I last about two pages before I get so distressed and angry, that I have to put it down. This book. Haven’t even got halfway yet. However, that is the only non-fiction book that ever affected me this way.

Other that than book, I’ve always taken the seek and you will find exhortation to heart, and it has worked. Only those who are not seeking don’t find.

Understandable, if surprising, that you haven’t even managed to get over yourself enough even to read that, but it illustrates the point I was making.

If you’re unable even at your age in 2015 to face squarely the truth on that comparatively trivial incident, how precisely are you equipped to face squarely and objectively the possibility that the rock upon which you have built your emotional security – the church – is false?

I’m not saying it is and I’m not saying it isn’t, but unless and until you’re equipped to deal with either possibility equally, coldly assessing the evidence like a scientist, then you’re in no way equipped to begin analysing the question on the table.

That’s all I’m saying.

ABC news reports that medical cannabis trials are being supported by three states in Australia.

The Queensland and Victorian state governments have joined forces with New South Wales to take part in medicinal cannabis clinical trials.
The NSW Government introduced the scientific trials last year to help treat patients with drug-resistant and uncontrollable epilepsy.

The new agreement means Victorians and Queenslanders suffering terminal or life-threatening conditions can take part in the NSW clinical trials.

The three trials will be conducted by the NSW Government and will examine the use of cannabis in providing relief for patients.

Victoria’s Health Minister Jill Hennessy…

…said the first trial would be open to children with severe, drug resistant epilepsy, due to start mid next year.

“There’s a series of experts that oversee the eligibility for who gets to partake and we’ll be doing all we can to support Victorian families and Victorian kids who meet that eligibility criteria to participate in the trial,” she said.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk…

…said the focus of the trial would be for families whose children suffer from life-threatening seizures.

Sometimes they’re happening on a weekly and a daily basis, being rushed to hospital and this medical cannabis oil, there’s scientific research which says that it can alleviate the pain that these young children are going through,” she said.

Queensland Health Minister Cameron Dick…

…says the clinical trials will set a framework to explore the possibility of regulated medical cannabis in the state, but the trials are dependant on the advice of medical researchers.

The Australian Medical Association Queensland (AMAQ)…

…said it supported scientific trials into the use of medicinal cannabis.

AMAQ president Dr Shaun Rudd said the trials would determine if it was safe.

“We think it’s a great idea – we’ve always wanted to get further evidence to see if this is something that we can use, medically or not,” he said.

“Hopefully with the trials we’ll find out what components of the cannabis itself is the useful ones for medical treatment.”

Meanwhile New Zealand under a National led government continues to do nothing.

Funny how nothings changed in the evidence that’s been available for decades but now all of a sudden since daddy has decided to let people get stoned then all the widdle kids in the western nations all of a sudden for no reason at all despite being ruled by their own populations and not by daddy, all start jumping on the same bandwagon.

Isn’t that a coincidence.

Who’da thunk in a million years.

Not to mention a stoned jail is a laid back jail so if something’s coming down the pipe to make everyone very unhappy indeed then wouldn’t it be a really good idea to have a plant they can grow in their backyard which is free and makes it OK to do nothing?

As to mine, what that individual conveniently leaves out are the dozens of times prior to that where he repeatedly told me to f**** off back to “your teepess and rain dances”, called me sub-human, said vastly worst things to me and about me than the words I said about him, and insisted that Native Americans should be thankful because we were treated humanely and decently.

There is a context to that whole affair, but he always leaves that out.

interesting read. I’ve never looked into the facts surrounding Port Arthur but that was a very compelling argument put forward.

Looking back with a historical lens, was it just a coincidence that there were all these mass shootings in the space of a few years in the mid-90s in so many countries by which Governments used as an excuse to grab their citizens guns?

Seeing the changes said Governments have wrought in their countries since the gun grabs and the direction of travel, I don’t people would be as willing to hand in their guns compared to the innocence of the 90’s.
