By crikey the UK elections this year are going to be fascinating.

Even though yesterday’s atrocities were committed by home grown French Muslim terrorists, seen through the lens of distance (or proximity) they just add credence to the messages of Le Pen and Farrage.

Perception is everything. A relative of Duggle’s in the U.K. has connected the dots… somehow… and is seriously considering UKIP which I believe means he’s going to vote for them.

Cameron can’t do anything about immigration really unless Brussels gives him permission so any Tory rhetoric is neutered. They can’t do a thing about immigration.

Farrage is going to make hay out of this.

Here in New Zealand, why don’t our leaders and MSM come out and say that? Instead of making the talking points “the defence of free speech” -(a defence I must say that they rarely practice (remember the recent persecution here of a Christian pastor)?) why don’t the politicians say something similar to what Farage has said?

We public know the truth, and deep down they do to unless they are so incredibly pig thick ignorant – multiculturalism and mass immigration is slowly destroying civilisation as we know it.

Pete George is exhorting KiwiBloggers to read Greg Presland’s post over on The Standard about the Paris terrorist attacks.

Greg Presland tells us in this post that ‘there is diversity among the Muslim Communities as strong as there is among the European Communities.’ He then goes on to make the extraordinary comment: ‘…anyone who thinks that the good people of West Auckland are the same as the people of Remuera need their heads read.’

Just what is Mr Presland getting at here? That the ‘good’ people of West Auckland are to be equated with the ‘good’ Muslims whereas ‘the (bad?) people of Remuera’ are to be equated with the Muslim terrorists? Or just that the people of West Auckland are ‘good’ and that those living in Remuera are by implication ‘bad’?

There is very little difference between those who live in West Auckland and those in Remuera. In the main, both communities are wanting to lead peaceful lives in which they work hard, look after their families and do unto their neighbours as their neighbours would do unto them. These are common characteristics of the overwhelming majority of New Zealand communities.

Mr Presland, and by association Pete George, do a major disservice to New Zealand society by propagating and encouraging such intolerant and judgemental attitudes. We do not need such people seeking to divide New Zealand communities against one another rather than finding common bonds that unify us as a nation.

But then, what do I know? As Mr Presland says: I need my head read! Very tolerant of him.

Hitchens is just great. He hates cant and exposes it everywhere with utter ruthlessness.Hitchens had the guts to describe Mother Teresa as a thieving and fanatical dwarf. His hilarious book “the Missionary Position” lifts the veil on mother Teresa and exposes her and the catholic church for what the really are. A bunch of thieves grabbling money often from the most unsavoury sources using their damn faith and the manipulation of guilt to extract it.

All Farage wants is to put a halt on immigration. Not kick anybody out. And they will crucify him for it – exactly the same as Brash wanting everybody in NZ to be on an equal footing. They crucified him for that too, somehow branding it as racism. Yesterday’s Dom Post editorial said it all.

I think before a politician can attack a fundamental problem like race relations or immigration they must first wither the media. Winston is the only one the journos are a bit scared of.

We need to give Simon Bridges a bit more time with John Campbell. Brings back fond memories, that does. As Corporal Jones used to say:

The deservedly maligned Dominion-Post editorial writers were obviously unaware of the warnings that Churchill gave pre 1939, and they clearly are unaware that a good part of what my memory says Enoch Powell (and now Farage) predicted, has come to pass in the UK and elsewhere.

Most Dominion-Post opinion writers these days are left wing imports from the UK, many from the late and unlamented News of the World. They also adversely influence the child graduate journos now employed there and in other NZ MSM. Their gratuitous views are disconnected from the real world, and as John Key frequently reminds them, he would be rightly held to account for any and all terrorism in NZ on his watch. The pontificating MSM accepts no responsibility.

When the Editorial first appeared yesterday morning the footnote thereon was absent. Following Paris it was quickly added. It is interesting to see how this event is being rationalised by the appeasers. Those crazies at the Guardian, and the NY and LA Times, and o0n almost all TV networks excepting Sky and Fox deliver a message of appeasement and “a need for understanding”. Unsurprisingly, Obama’s “Mr Heinz” has again delivered the wrong message. His customary empty words are a broken record and exceeded only by his pomposity. So, therefore let us now get to Messrs George, Presland and Derek Fox. They should be treated with the contempt.

There are three ways to tackle Islam: surrender, annihilation or isolation. If left to their own devices our leaders will choose surrender. From the very first day our leaders invited Islam in, it was always going to start this war and it’s one we are going to have to force our leaders to fight.

We must show them that we are not to be frightened like little children but rather their worst nightmare. If we want to avoid even more bloodshed, it’s time to stop Islamic immigration to the West, kick out those here illegally, stop paying them benefits, abandon our crazy “human rights legislation” and spend the money saved on trebling our military to show them we mean business.

Nukey, I think you’re missing the point and drawing comparisons between West Aucklanders and Remmers folk and good/bad Muslims the author (Presland) does not make or infer.

His point simply is, that people are different (as in Remmers or W AKL) and can’t all be grouped in together. Ditto Muslims. There is no direct link there.

We see this all the time in NZ. People make a point, cite the Nazis in some oblique relevant way, and there is faux OUTRAGE..are you saying XYZ are Nazis?? “No, you are, you pillock” (which again, for the simple minded, is not a reference to NukuLeka.

The catholic church is a very successful “god business”. It does everything for money and is very skilful at doing it. They will meet anyone, dish out its award, give forgiveness all for money. At the heart of every catholic doctrine including celibacy is money. A celebrate Priest has no one to leave his money to except the church.

I am not an Islamic apologist – the attacks in Paris are obscene, and there would be few sane people in the world who could condone the barbaric murders.

Our immediate and visceral knee-jerk xenophobic reaction is entirely understandable, I admit to feeling the same way initially. Where I stayed in Paris was 6 blocks away from the Charlie offices, so it shook me perhaps a little more than I would have liked. I has passed my personal condolences to my new business contacts in France in my poor schoolbook French: “Nous avons beaucoup du chagrin pour La France a cause de les attaques obscènes en Paris. C’est un assaut sur nous tous. En Nouvelle Zelande nous pensons a vous.”

Regarding those who would argue to deport all NZ Muslims- I can only speak from my personal experience, having met relatively few within our country, but those that I have met without exception have been friendly, communicative, well-read professionals. One was a medical doctor, the second a dental surgeon. Both came to NZ seeking a better life for their families, despite the full extent of their skills and qualifications not being recognised in our country. The first is from Iran and the second from Syria (who, incidentally, self-identifies as a Palestinian). In both cases I was introduced to their families, including wife and children, they were generous in hospitality within their homes, and forthright and honest in their business dealings.

I cannot think of a move that would sway more to the extremist cause than to persecute those in innocents in our own communities.

Disingenuous, I am afraid. Of course all people are different in many ways, but essentially New Zealanders are bonded together by common human qualities as I mentioned in my post. It is telling that Micky Savage deliberately chooses two Auckland communities, one that he labels as ‘good’ and votes Labour (West Auckland)and the other that he doesn’t label at all (Remuera) and votes National. Anyone familiar with his posts knows he admires and one and despises the other.

If one is going to write about the ‘diversity’ within the Muslim community at a time of a vile terrorism attack it is clear that one is referring to the diversity between those whom you despise who are committed to terrorism in the name of Islam and those you admire who are committed to peaceful co-existence with others. If one then chooses to cite examples of equal ‘diversity’ between ‘European Communities’ and cite a community you admire and one you loathe then the implication is obvious.

He has implied it: I have inferred it. If he didn’t intend to imply it then he ought to make his writing less emotive, more transparent and less ambiguous. That is, change his spots!

Such folk will never recognise the goodness that can exist within people’s hearts and must always demean ‘goodness’ as a sin rather than a virtue. We have to love ourselves, I guess, before we can have any love for others.

Nukuleka, you have not even met me, yet you assume a great deal.

I am not anti-Catholic. Nor am I rabid or I would have taken some medication for that. I merely believe that people should be able to make their own choices in life without someone else preventing, or making them feel guilty for, that choice. One of the best ways to solve poverty is to allow women control of their own fertility. How is it right to say you cannot have an abortion, and in the same breath state, but I will not permit you reliable methods to prevent having to make that choice in the first place. It’s non-sensical and down-right evil.

I couldn’t give a toss about how Mother Theresa of Albania might have regarded me and she no longer can because she is dead.

But I despair at the way it manipulates its followers, filling them up with guilt and keeps control, never letting its followers gain confidence and get rid of the yoke of its jumbo jumbo. On thingshere in NZ.

The headlines in the business press these days are talking about deflation rather than inflation. Inflation bought about by the decreasing oil prices which of course is a reflection of supply and demand.

What I think is interesting about all this is what is going to happen within NZ.

We have the banks at last recognizing this trend but few yet ready to slash their interest rates but eager to fill ya up with lending at the current rates.
More interesting though is what the Governor of the RBNZ is going to do. What this situation shows magnificently is that inflation is not controlled by raising interest rates but by world events and deflation is controlled in the same way.

Kinda dumps a fucking lot of useless theory I’d reckon.

How ever the question that really interests me is this.

As the Guv.’s pay is linked to the controlling of inflation and inflation is falling of its own accord, due as I said to factors well beyond his control, what happens to his performance related pay packet? Now he will meet the targets set without even getting out of bed, but, should Kiwi’s be penalized for this??

What will he do about the OCR? It’s looking very shaky and very expensive compared with the rest of the world. Will he continue to rip kiwi’s off with high interest rates or will he make a change?
Will his obsession with the housing market get worse or will he decide that like any market the market doesn’t give a shit what he thinks?

What draconian control measures will he dream up next to prop up English and Smith.

The rental housing market has taken a great turn for the better in many of the Provinces. Nelson, Gisbourne, Rotorua to name several are all saying the demand is high and the prices are up.

Unemployment in Aussie is on the up and plenty of anecdotal evidence around town of people returning home.

All sounds like a good year ahead provided the usual cohort of control freaks in the RBNZ, Govt, stay on hoilday.
But like the police they will be back with more stupid fucking Laws and Controls.
Control freaks piss me off.

I think the source is reputable enough, the thing though is, that the reason Mussolini paid the Catholic Church that money was under the terms of the Lateran Treaty where the Italian Govt. under Mussolini took over the old Papal States right through the centre of Italy which had been in the ownership of the Church for centuries and held in trust for “The People”.

If you’d checked the comment section, you would have seen 2 comments explaining this – and one of the commenters criticises the paper for failing to do proper research before writing the article.

A huge police operation is under way in a town north-east of Paris as police move in to detain the men suspected of massacring staff at Charlie Hebdo magazine.

Shots were fired earlier as the gunmen hijacked a car.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve confirmed the operation in Dammartin-en-Goele, 35 km (22 miles) from Paris.

At least one hostage has been taken at a warehouse in the small town, French media reports suggest.
