Public screen hog comes up at the bottom and you automatically hit the scroll wheel until the first post after comes up
Once in while you catch a word on the way past but that is it.

Tom,

You’re probably right, and therefore the only recourse that blog readers have is to use the down tick feature to hide her comments.

The magic number is 20, I think.

I’ve just gotten the point of annoyance with her. Previously, I’ve just scrolled past. Recently I’ve started down ticking. A few days ago I’d had enough and needed to say something.

If what I’ve been doing fails, I’ll email David Farrar next.

I noticed three of penny’s screeds got hidden the other day with only one still active at 29.

That’s not quite right: the threshold was initially set at, and has always been, -30.

It’s also worth noting that the threshold is based on a net position. So, if a person has 30 downticks and 1 uptick, then their net position is -29, and the comment will still be shown. It would just take one more downtick to change the net position to -30, at which point the comment won’t be shown.

I share Lucia’s frustration. I sometimes read Kiwiblog on my smartphone, and it’s really frustrating to have to scroll past Penny’s lengthy comments. When using a smartphone to read Kiwiblog, it’s much harder work to scroll on by, compared to using a mouse.

As Lucia points out, the obvious solution is for Penny to provide a summary and a supporting cross-reference to her blog – much like Pete George does. Penny’s 3:47pm comment is a classic example of a lengthy comment that could be summarised.

It’s funny how no Labour signs were defaced and how there were no media reports of National coercing subsets of the population into voting for them, wasn’t it?

13 people actually think that’s true. Interesting. For the record, Labour and Green billboards were defaced and National were accused of manipulating voters in exactly the way IGM specified. Clearly only three people got the sarcasm. Just goes to show you only see what you want to see.

Lucia
Penny is certainly not the sole spam contributor to this blog although she does contribute a significant amount. If we were to remove the contributions of her, Kea, Bigot Blouse, Stupidboy, Michael/Muggins and one or two others KB would be significantly better of!!

So, penny, in her customary in-your-face fashion, splats everywhere and all of a sudden people are compiling ban lists. She will be back tomorrow boasting how she cleaned up a corrupt KB GD and her Occupy Kiwiblog campaign worked a treat.
Some simple rules:
1. No cut and paste if avoidable. Links are good. Pasting a self-penned leter is not proof of its content.
2. All posting during an election campaign is election advertising for which there is a fee.
3. Sign-off does not need to be more than one line, if at all.
4.ad hom derision is trolling and triggers sanction.
5. Gloating is not debating, especially when there is nothing to gloat about.

I have not folowed the Pora case particularly closely, Nos NZ. The two points made by Krebs could well have made a difference to a jury’s decision. Did he retract the confession at either trial? I gather that his impairment was known at the time but not the condition that made him anxious to please. Much depends, I guess, on how altogether new the evidence was.

As far as Penny is concerned, it irritates me that she claims undue credit, esp on legal issues, when it is undeserving. The occupy Auckland case is a classic case in point. She isn’t here to debate, inform or learn. She is here to splatter and throw her jaundiced view of the world all over the screen. The very sad thing is that deep down there are valid issues at large and her aggro approach does not do them justice. There are environment societies like that. Extreme, unyielding, wont negotiate and take issues far too far but without them we would be in a bit of a bloody mess. Itake take tahe view that a much more conciliatory, problem solving approach works best which is why Penny’s confrontational, adversial approach really pisses me off (to use a technical term).

It is very instructive to compare the level of intellectual dishonesty [of the nark] with its frequency of emailing DPF.
