Motorists are being advised against renewing their vehicle’s registration for a full year, because the price is going to drop.

The Automobile Association and Consumer NZ have said renewing for shorter periods through to July 2015, will capitalize on pending reductions in ACC levies.

Both organizations say any renewals from now on should be targeted to expire shortly after July 1, because from that date, annual motor vehicle license levies will drop by an average of 45 per cent for most vehicles – except motorcycles, mopeds, trailers and caravans.

Where have 200,000 homeless Vanished to???

People keep reporting that the homeless in their areas, mostly larger cities are just vanishing? 200,000 according to statistics of homeless audits…With some cities making homelessness or feeding the homeless Illegal, this is very alarming! What is happening to these people? Is someone Taking them? If so, where are they taking them to?

Homeless people are easily taken in by the promise of hope and can be easily manipulated because they are down on their luck, the people of power are slowly but surely using this as a power move over the general population, by increasing tax,s and cutting wages, increasing the cost of living, this in turn will make more people homeless, once homeless you are a target, Soon the day you are evicted from your home , they will take you from your home and straight to the camps, where you are no longer considered a viable commodity, Your shelf life has expired.

The government is forcing more and more of the population into homelessness and poverty, gee I wonder what their plan is. Also when you research these FEMA camps you notice that the razor wire faces INWARDS which, as anyone who has been in a detention camp knows, is built as a prison to keep people in. They will lie and say its for the inhabitants protection.

Get ready for Revelation, tribulation is coming.

Dime says – GET FUCKED!

Last year they took in 6 mill in fines. Up from 1 mill the year before.

Oh but its about the road toll.

I preduct the pressure is going to get worse and worse for Key, nothwithstanding that the guy can take enormous amounts of stress, more than people who are not ESTP like he is. His problem is he thinks on his feet, has no bigger picture or longer term sight. Hence the instant lies to cover the older lies, every time he is caught out lying. He also has shite judgement to be still dealing with Cam Slater, who does indeed appear delusional to yours truly. (I’ll bet the Crusher has by now blocked Cam in her cellphone)
As for Death plans for Cam by the RawShark person/people? well, since Key told us he had been given a name for Rawhsark some time back, then all they need to do is tell the Police that there is or was an attempted murder plot, and Key can help with the investigation. I am starting to laugh at the surrealism in all this. It just gets better and better.

Damn moron. Basically he is saying people should drive 10kph under the limit because it is impossible to drive the limit without exceeding by a few km from time to time due to sudden changes in the road and wind gusts.

The cops are just being absolute dickheads now. I was largely ambivalent about the lowered 5kph tolerance but this is just showing what a dickhead Dave Cliff happens to be.

I think there will be a backlash against the dummy cops.

In hindsight the Boxing Day 1953 Bert Sutcliffe/Bob Blair thing should never have happened. Fancy playing when the fiancée of one of your team mates has been killed two days before!

While Phillip Hughes’ death does not necessarily have the same immediacy, I think as a mark of professional courtesy and respect it is appropriate for the industry professionals/international cricket community to spend the day doing something else. I’d suggest that is almost certainly how the players see it, whether they had a close relationship with Phillip Hughes or not. I think most true-blue cricket supporters would see it that way too. Might be able to add an extra day on the end. It isn’t all about entertaining a curmudgeon like you, bb.

played with wheel size diameter and profile to get 99% @100kph.

The one road safety add that really pisses me off is the speeding one when they get out of the cars.
yip speedo says doing 107kph probably only doing 101 and some dick head pulls out.
The dick heads are the danger no matter the speed.
You never know if some gunho copper is going to pull a u turn over a blind crest and kill you.

There is a sense in which all bouncers are there to rattle the batsman. It is done to either

1. Draw a false stroke either in defence or attack (a mistimed hook/edge behind) that is caught/out hit wicket if they slip.

2. make him extra nervous and get his concentration away from the basics of watching the ball and correct technique,

3. or set him up for another short ball of a different speed and draw a mistimed shot or a fuller delivery when he is playing back in anticipation of a short one like the ball before.

As per the chnage in the Cricket laws after the 1932-33 Bodyline Ashes series, you are not allowed to intimidate the batsman, especially tail enders (although they can get the occasional bouncer if they hang around or in repayment for when they were at the bowling crease).

But Hughes is an opener who should have had the requiste professional equipment in this technique toolbox, and from everything reported so far it was just a stock-standard short delivery he badly mistimed. He was hit on the back of the head (left side) just under the helmet having played his hook shot too early. Is a bit of a problem for left handers playing right-arm over-the-wicket bowlers, as when they step back and across to play the hook the ball tends to follow them, whereas for right hand batsmen they step inside the line of the ball so it is travelling away from their head down leg side.

But still a freak accident.

How on earth they batted without helmets and hardly anyone died (although there were some nasty blows) before the late 1970s is just incredible.

Tyres can certainly make a fair difference to recorded speed Griff. The 265 x 16 boots on the Landcruiser start out with 10mm of tread.

By the time they need replacing 100kmh is only about a true 94.

Steep rocky farm tracks don’t do tyres much good stigie but I usually get a bit over 80K per set.

Most of the wear though comes from booting it into town…..I’ve got a heavy foot. 🙂

Bugger me nasska. All the good ole boys at the Eketahuna Bowling Club won’t give a fuck if you wear out your tyres at either 100kph or 94kph heading on down there on the Eke Expressway!

As long as you get there in time to shout them a drink before they drop off their perches will be fine! 🙂

If I’m travelling long distances I use a GPS to measure my speed. Bit more accurate than a car speedo. Just have to figure out the error factor so that you can argue it with the cop if you need too. I don’t mind them enforcing speed limits, but it is the ones who do 80kph on a 100kph area and hold up a pile of traffic who really annoy me because they don’t have sense or courtesy to pull over to let others pass. What really makes me angry is the inconsiderate mongrels who go slow until they get to a passing bay and then speed up to try and prevent people passing them. Soon as they get out of the passing bay they slow right down again.

Heard police reporting anyone stopped for speeding will be breath tested. Oh, and the booze buses have new biometric testing to take finger prints to check identities. Guess anyone on the Police computer will be matched to those fingerprints.

I’m sorry Hughs has died and feel for his family, friends and team-mates and note this is the only death of an international cricketer on the field in my memory.

I can understand the shock throughout the cricket fraternity.

As one of millions (literally) who faced medium to quick bowlers without either protection or skill for thirty odd years I can only thank the gods I am able to type this.

RIP Mr Hughs.

The fuckers are enforcing the law for two months of the year?! It’s either one or the other. It’s a blatant cash grab. Dime won’t get pinged .. If I do get pulled over, I simply drop the brothers name and I get a “warning”

Also, I couldn’t give a fuck how much you give to charity. Milky implied dime never does anything for the benefit of the community. Dimes reply was he does more than milky! The only change after the bodyline series was the rules regarding field placements.

Cricket since the WI four-seamer era saw the rules change to include some restrictions on bowling at batsmen particularly incompetent batsmen (the Chatfield incident drove some changes – and won us a test in Dunedin but I digress) but the last Ashes series demonstrated very well that intimidatory bowling is still part of the game – and long may that continue.

Just listened to Alan jones . He said Hughes was basically gone from the moment he collapsed.

Such a tragedy.

God knows how the bowler gets through this. 22 years old. Intellectually he will know it’s not his fault, but emotionally…

It’s been a hard year, we had that other kid league player get badly hurt from a spear tackle too. At least he’s alive.

You’d like to think they will have a Philip Hughes award in Australia. Maybe for the most attacking batsmen or something.. Most positive cricketer..

I remember following his first century against South Africa on cricinfo. He was going off. I learned how to stream cricket that night just so I could watch.

I also remember Chris Martin (of all people) exposing him.

He would have made it. Could have been a Mathew Hayden. Similar career paths. The guy already had 25 first class hundreds..

I will not be breath tested.
Blood test only thanks and a complaint will be laid for false arrest if they detain me for more than 20 minutes without a convection or insist on a blood test with no evidence for genuine suspicion of alcohol usage.
All contact recorded on cell phone naturally. One cop has already learned from Griff that voice evidence of abuse of power gets them in shit they can not wiggle out of.
Detaining 200 going about their lawful business on the chance of getting one person is a gross abuse of civil liberties

The only change after the bodyline series was the rules regarding field placements.

Cricket since the WI four-seamer era saw the rules change to include some restrictions on bowling at batsmen particularly incompetent batsmen (the Chatfield incident drove some changes – and won us a test in Dunedin but I digress) but the last Ashes series demonstrated very well that intimidatory bowling is still part of the game – and long may that continue.

I see you call of “Horsehit!”, and raise you with a “Double Horseshit!”.

As per the attached, the MCC added the clause about intimidatory bowling in 1934.

The number of fielders behind square on the leg side wasn’t changed until the late 1950s/early 1960s. Jim Laker took his 19 wickets in the Old Trafford test of 1956 with at least 3 leg slips in his field placings. Plus “leg theory” bowling is what made cricket really dull in the late 1950s, which led to that field placement change.

But you are right that often there was intimidatory bowling, even though the law said otherwise. Mind you, as per that Bill O’Reilly article from 1981, sometimes umpires could be really prissy. Calling Lance Cairns out for intimidatory bowling?! Cost us that Boxing day test in 1980. Same tour (and ground – MCG) as the underarm.

I see postponing the cricket due to Phil Hughes tragic death as a massive overstatement, sure have a couple of minutes silence for him before the game but abandoning the whole day is a bit over the top.

You are a dick sometimes (actually most of the time), Rowan. Don’t you think the players, some of whom knew Phil Hughes and were informed of his death about two hours before play was scheduled to begin, had any say in it? I get it that you are not upset, but luckily you don’t get a vote on it.

Sad to hear Phil Hughes had to wait 15 mins for an ambulance even though the depot was 800m from the cricket ground!
The team doctor had to resuscitate him as he had basically died by soon after hitting the ground.
Would have been 27 in 3 days time

A police crack down on speeding and drink driving this summer has unleashed a heap of criticism from ONE News readers, who say the new measures are “extreme” and may even cause more accidents.

Yesterday, police unveiled their summer road safety campaign, promising a no tolerance approach over the coming months.

Police Commissioner Mike Bush warned motorists to “expect to be stopped” for breath testing and exceeding speed limits – even as little as one kilometre over.

The commissioner should be told to pull his head in.
It is way past time that the police done something about those who obstruct traffic by driving slowly without pulling over to allow others to pass.
We have a right to except the police to up hold the law. Obstructing traffic is an offense.

The current incumbent is simply awful.

Not a nice positive thing to say about anything on the website just constant attacks on John Key.
Maybe its about time the taxman had a decent go at their tax rorts past.

Its jus tsimply not worth the effort to go to a news site to be barraged by political news making that is blatantly wrong and biased and amounts to personal attacks.
Deleting the site from my book marks.

yeah I know but I’m a patient bugger and give the benefit of the doubt but now would rather read Google news.
