Elizabeth Warren: Obama’s economic team chose Wall Street over ‘families’

Senator Elizabeth Warren, always outspoken on the tension between Main Street and Wall Street, took shots Sunday at a system she said is “rigged” against the little guy.

In an interview in Salon, Warren, who has said she doesn’t plan to seek the 2016 presidential nomination, said fellow Democrats including President Obama have not done enough to help consumers.

On President Obama: Warren praised Obama for the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a federal agency aimed at enforcing consumer protection laws.

But she told Salon that “there has not been nearly enough change” in the wake of the U.S. financial crisis.

“He picked his economic team and when the going got tough, his economic team picked Wall Street. …They protected Wall Street. Not families who were losing their homes. Not people who lost their jobs. Not young people who were struggling to get an education. And it happened over and over and over.”

On lobbyists: Banks spend millions on “armies of lobbyists and lawyers,” she told Salon, but there are few people at “the decision-making table” representing the concerns of everyday Americans.

Poland may well have completely fallen to the Nazi’s – but being stabbed in the back (literally) by the USSR did not help avoid falling over.

Also, why are you living in NZ, Andrei? Serious question.

If it ever came to a situation where NZ was part of some group opposing Russia I think it’s very clear that you would have no hesitation in pulling a Kim Philby and stabbing your adopted society in the back.

As a Christian conservative I have always supported an independent Palestinian state, despite the fact that the idea is built on a historical fallacy. Nor am I remotely alone in that view.

Sure, there are some who don’t, though to describe their view as “bigotry” is just mindless trolling.

I think “kea” needs to get out more and meet some real flesh and blood Christian conservatives.

Shawn Herles , I do know Christian conservatives and are friends with a few. They are largely good people. My regular hunting mate was a major god-botherer and we have had many adventures together.

You are fundamentally a lying bigot, but you are better than some on KB. You are okay when you take off your god-goggles and I have possibly included you, undeservedly, in comments directed at others.

You would be a decent bloke if not for your world view being distorted by biblical fables. The same fables used to create the religious disneyland of Israel. This is a view held by religious Jews, who explain the nation of Israel lay with the scattered people, not a physical place. It was to be established by God, not man. Anyway, lets not let facts get in the way of ignorance. Peace 🙂

I think it needs reposting here, something that Anne Applebaum wrote:

The army group that liberated Auschwitz was called the First Ukrainian Front.

The author is trying to trick you into believing that Ukrainians were being used as cannon fodder but this unit was originally the Voronezh Front and fought in the Kuban – it was manned by people from all over the Soviet Union of course.

It was renamed the First Ukrainian Front after Stalingrad as the liberation of Ukraine began

Anyone can call themselves a follower of whatever they like without actually being one. Hitler was not a committed Catholic by any stretch of the imagination. The Nazis got rid of Christmas – replaced traditional Christmas decorations with Nazi tree ornaments and the like.

Another thing is, you can’t say you are a Christian unless you follow what the Bible teaches. Killing Jews is definitely not on the list of things the Church teaches or what the Bible says. Nor is planning to have the Pope killed.

You distort facts and reason to suit yourself. For example, you totally ignore the fact that many Christians, Catholic and Protestant, were prepared to stand up to Hitler, to the point of death. That many risked their lives to smuggle Jews out of Germany.

Trying to pretend that a neo-Pagan cult, which is what the Nazis were, hence their use of Norse pagan runes on their flags, was a Christian movement is just laughable ignorance. They used it for their own cynical purposes.

Yes many German Christians were fooled into supporting them, and many were not.

Shawn, sorry to divert you from your exchange with Kea, but I have to say how delighted I was to see your 8:55 – or at least the first line of it. Regular readers here are well accustomed to your usual rendition of the contraction / abbreviation “you’re” (= you are) in the spelling of the possessive pronoun “your”. The latter word is clearly wrong when used in this way, albeit excusable on occasions, but when it is used out of context repeatedly, the repetition becomes irritating.

In the first line of your 5:55 message to Kea you actually say: “You’r trolling and you know it kea.”

Now the expression used “You’r” isn’t quite the “you’re” that some of us have been longing to read in your comments, seemingly forever. But credit where credit’s due – from where you have been, it’s half-way to perfection. Keep up the great progress, and please let us see you complete the expression as “you’re”, consistently, in your future KB comments as your contraction of the words “you are”. The effort would be appreciated.

When I used to work at Immigration in my time in Wgtn, I learned they had a protocol for cases like Ebola, which shut down the border. Completely. Period. PM’s overseas? Sorry. Doesn’t get in. Her Majesty’s plane needs to land? Can’t land here.

Obviously all the other border agencies have the same thing. I’ve wondered why they haven’t activated them. Don’t scare the horses? I am guessing what will happen is this is the first salvo. They’ll find a “cure” and, either, as Deagle suggests they’ll then release a weaponised version of it. Or, my guess, they’ll make us all get a “proven” (yeah right) vaccine. Who knows. One thing’s for sure though isn’t it. If, like ALL useful idiots, you’ve never bother to educate yourself because you think you already know how the world works, then it’s most unlikely isn’t it, you’re in any position whatsoever, to make up your mind as to the veracity or otherwise, of anything the above video says. That’s just logic, isn’t it. Plain and simple. Inescapable.

Interesting the Georgia Guidestones had a ceremony there recently, wasn’t it. Just before Ebola hit the news in the West. Not that the Western MSM knows what’s going on. It’s been going for ages before that, I’ve been following it since June.

A true “Watchdog”
A person of integrity and transparency, with-holding payments like rates for some personal reason, with proper stewardship would have those total rates and penalties set aside in a separate account, or have the means to pay immediately what is owed the moment “conditions” are met.

Otherwise such a person may be open to accusations of corrupt free-loading hypocritical cheat, motivated by self-agrandisment or just a little mental illness? 🙂

Reid, the Ebola problem is a minor one, compared to all the other things killing Africans (mostly other Africans).

It will only cause a tiny problem in the West, if we continue to allow busy bodies and do-gooders to go into Ebola zones and return home to feel smug.

I have told you this before and you suggested this was what they thought about the black death. Well guess what, Bubonic plague still exists and kills thousands.

FWIW I don’t disagree with you. My intuition is this is not the end-game. This is the opening salvo. Lots of life changes will follow from this. But mass population death? No, at this point, and it changes on a daily basis, that’s not my assessment.

But while you’re educated in many areas as far as I can tell, many more than people who haven’t even started yet, you’ve some way to go in understanding their machinations. But you’re insightful, my friend, you teach me a lot.

Johnboy, Africa breaks my heart. My views on it have changed a lot over the years and I tend to agree with you. No continent on the planet has been given as much help and aid to drag it from the stone age. No place has had so much do-goodery. It is a very rich country full of oil, minerals, precious metals, wildlife and arable land. No place has had as long to get it right. It should be the best place on earth. But look at it ! It features in the bottom few of most negative global health and well being surveys.

I say leave them to it, same as the Middle East. We can still buy their oil and stuff, if they can stop killing each other for long enough to be bothered harvesting it. An absurdly optimistic proposal on my part 🙁

No – utter bullshit. Read General Debate from about 2pm to 5.30 pm and it is in fact almost unreadable. A small number of contributers write fucking rubbish which is incredibly boring, and in essence echoes the approach of Penny Bright – pre-set views that neither listen to other people’s arguments nor are any real exchange of ideas – just self-interested drivel.

To preserve your inner health, consider avoiding General Debate 2pm to 5pm – at least until tomorrow 🙂

Johnboy, yes of course. It is not like they were ever going to use it anyway and if you don’t kill them they will just do it themselves , if Ebola/Elephantiasis/Onchocerciasis/Schistosomiasis/Leishmaniasis … don’t get them first.

In fact the only time this sorry state of affairs has improved has been under white rule, though the Arabs did manage to keep them gainfully employed for many years. You would be doing them a favour.

No Shawn. I have pointed out to Lucy that her version of the Holocaust is at odds with: respected Jewish authorities on Holocaust research such as the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, first hand accounts from both victims and perpetrators, scholars and researchers. That makes her a Holocaust Denier.

She said the role of the church is “debated”. That is true in the same way that the role of the Nazi is “debated”. In the context of Croatia it is not debated, it is established fact.

I provided links to support all of this, from respected world renowned Jewish organisations. So she could not attack them, but instead turned on me for simply sharing their findings.

It goes like this: You; “Lucia, do you oppose Putin’s annexation of Crimia?” Lucia; “Yes.” You; “So you support the neo-Nazis!”

That is gutter level tactics and lying.
