I”m amazed at how many people here don’t get that Judith Collins is only a sideshow in the story. The real story, yet to be examined fully is Hotchkin, Carrick Graham, Slater, Ogden and the New Zealand Herald. And where does David Farrar fit into it?

Joe Williams, who was controversially promoted from chief judge of the Maori Land Court to the High Court, has rejected a police application to seize the car and cash of Jack Makitania Whakatihi, head of the notorious Nomads gang.

The police said the car and cash were from proceeds Whakatihi received from an amphetamine supply racket.

Judge Williams, a Maori, is reported as saying the police failed to establish the cash they found has come from drug sales, Justice Williams said. It was more likely than not to be club fees, which Whakatihi had said he collected as president of the Foxton branch of the Nomads gang.

In 1993 elderly Foxton doctor Howard Teppett was beaten to death with an iron bar in his own home, and his 78-year-old sister was raped. One of the two men charged with the killing was a Nomads prospect, but the gang vehemently denied involvement.

Earlier today I was reflecting on the sudden deluge of leftist commentators here at Kiwiblog as Collins’s blood seeped further out into the waters, and on the fact that only one regular leftist was willing to turn up and try and defend Obama on DPF’s recent thread about him.

One!

All those howling, gleeful commentators who crowded into Kiwiblog in 2008, and to a lessor extent in 2012 – have simply vanished – and any attempt to link to those periods of left-wing insanity is disparaged as “old news”. As if the commentators have actually learned something.

So it has been with similar elections surrounding ye olde Mandarin speaking “genius” sociopath Kevin Rudd in 2007, or his replacement Julia Gillard (the “Barrister with a Bricklayer’s Accent”), or Tony Blair or Gordon Brown. It’s all stuff that happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

And there’s no shame or red-faced embarrassment either.

I don’t think the term “memory-hole” even begins to cover this, and if the latest incarnation of leftist genius – Cunliffe-Norman – wins at the polls this year here in NZ, I’ll be willing to bet that three years of the usual face-planting clusterfucks will be greeted with the same silence from the left.

If the Green-Labour faction were to win the election, there would be three years of chaos, as their brief reign would coincide with diving export commodity prices and a marked economic downturn internationally. The Greens would hike the price of petrol in addition to the price jump that will come from a falling NZ dollar. Both would hike up taxes to keep a smidgen of their prices.

The West Coast would all but die as the Greens strangled mining.

The good thing is this would the very end of Green and Labour in NZ.

Political pundits can enjoy the” season” but the average voter makes the ultimate decision.

So it seems that NZ’s sporting arrogance is not restricted to Rugby Union. TV One (aka Labour party TV) have led a piece about the NZ Basketball team’s latest game with the “news” that the opposition team “refused” to face the rain dance prior to the start of the game.

All opposition teams should refuse to face the rain dance, those from other nations should not be forced to stand still so the NZ team can stamp their feet and poke their tongues out at them.

I see from your article that Saffi holds a doctorate in biomedicine. That’s fantastic, but if he doesn’t come up the media savviness curve quickly, he’ll be portrayed as nut nut nutter (as Griff might say).

Which reminds me- I got dragged along to a ‘Breakers’ Game one night. Was bombarded with horrendous ‘Gangsta Rap’ and American ‘Gangsta’ Hand-signals throughout the game. All the New Zealand players interviewed afterwards put on rather phoney try-hard American accents.
Rather amusing and ironic that the NZ Basketballers are now all up in arms about someone ‘Disrespecting our Culture’, when they all seem so desperate to ditch it and assume another…

The troll calling himself “jakejakejake” obviously supports the NZ Labour Party, which has the highest proportion of gays to heterosexuals of any political party in the Southern Hemisphere.

Not that that matters, but heh, is DPF keeping a track of the computer identities and entry paths of these trolls from the Standard?

If so, he might put them up, and some of Kiwiblog’s fans might reveal the names of more of these trolls (see Flipper’s 5.28 post).

True Blue in my context refers to those of us who have been forced to adopt the Lefty attitude to politics..the end justifies the means.
But when Cunliffe keeps getting handed an electoral lifeline, on a daily basis for weeks and can only muster 30 supporters in his home electorate..
Very telling, innit.
But while you are here, I asked you some questions last week regarding AGW/Climate Change.
You being the expert & all, I’d still like to know your responses to these points:
1) Climate change will bring as many benefits as downsides
2)We have in GMO & other human technologies the ability to soak up massive amounts of CO2
3) The alarmist reports of recent increased storm & adverse weather events are factually incorrect.

I’d like to know what others here think of the Greens/Labour rant about Judith Collins and the PM’s offices be treated like a crime scene. Let me say I’m glad Key has got rid of Collins but there is currently no evidence that she has committed a crime of any kind. All she is guilty of in my mind is poor judgement on more than one occasion but that is all.

Won’t the authorities first have to establish that there is reason to believe a crime has been committed (something like under s. 116 of the Crimes Act) before the cops or anyone else marches into Beehive offices seizing computer or other records? And would the cops have to get a search warrant first?

I have copies of Official Information Act replies signed by the highly politically partial, Number One spin doctor, Wayne Eagleson, Chief of Staff of the unregulated Office of the Prime Minister, whose role is not covered by statute.

It is NOT the role of the party political Office of the Prime Minister to reply to OIA requests addressed to the Prime Minister John Key.

That is the job of the apolitical, politically independent Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC).

How come at the highest levels of our NZ Government – the lines are so blurred regarding the roles and functions of these two quite different organisations connected in quite different ways to the Prime Minister?

Who holds the Office of the Prime Minister accountable?

How can staff employed in the Office of the Prime Minister if their role is not covered by statute or regulation?

How ‘mickey mouse’ is this?

NZ ‘perceived’ to be the least corrupt country in the world.

What meaningless bullsh#t is this?

Heard anything lately from the NZ Government funded ‘Transparency International NZ’ on any of these recent corruption scandals?

Prime Minister John Key is the LEADER of the National Party.
The role of the Office of the Prime Minister is to protect John Key as LEADER of the National Party.

John Key as Prime Minister is also the head of the NZ Government.

In this role, it is the job of the apolitical, politically impartial Department of the Prime Minister and a Cabinet (DPMC)

I happen to know where Penny gets her income from it is currently from one flat mate, she is not financially influenced by any one and if many more coped as well as she does on living on the smell of an oily rag and was as resourseful as she is this would be a very different country. you would not survive a week living on her budget.

We are not wrong about Corruption for years we have ben ignored, but like all rot you cannot hide corruption forever and sooner or later the holes show.

Penny uses her website for various purposes including, relevantly, to solicit donations from the public. I’ve asked Penny some questions about this fundraising activity (on a smartphone so can’t link to those questions at the moment), but funnily enough she’s not really into transparency when it comes to her personal affairs!

It’s sort of amusing to watch the carry-on in NZ from abroad. I fly back on 11 September, and have already made arrangements to call into my local (ie, same city as my NZ home) cop shop, to lay a complaint about a school teacher who molested me in 1972. The local top-cop is an old friend from school days.

The ex-teacher must be 70 now, but never mind. He’s a Labour activist, so he’s fair game.
