Whale Oil turned to attacking alleged victim Tania Billingsley and her associates this week. This hypocritical attack based on rumour and insinuation was widely and justifiably criticised.

But in response some have turned their anger on Canon, somehow holding them responsible because Whale Oil won a Canon sponsored media award prior to this happening.

Redirecting blame at Canon is as wrong-headed as redirecting blame at victims of sexual assault. One disgraceful agenda doesn’t justify another.

I see that there is discussion about providing alternative options for gender classification in the census. The discussion paper I went to following a link in Bob McCroskie’s blog suggests they are considering a range of alternative terms, though the current poll on Stuff indicates only one- ‘genderqueer’. Deary me. This is what you come to when you have a navel- gazing 1st world society that seems to have lost its way. If this nonsensical plan were carried through I’d take immense pleasure in ticking ‘genderqueer’ just to stuff up the statistics!!I think quite a few people would register their distaste in a similar fashion.

A poll on the stuff website said Cunliffe is dragging down the Labour vote. I predict there will be no move to replace him. Labour still has a lot of work to do to put a credible narrative together on what their Government would look like. That must mean some sort of joint platform with the Greens on key policy issues starting with economic policy. David Shearer started With the joint announcement on the electricity market. But on 4-5 key policies the Greens and Labour need to speak with one voice. That will not happen for this election but they might have something in place for 2017. Then the voters can look and see whether a Labour lead Government is worth supporting.

It’s long overdue the Israeli forces went in and lanced the boil called Hamas – as soon as the terrorists started lobbing rockets and ordnance into the sovereign state of Israel, it was only a matter of time before the IDF went in and sorted them out for good.

Widely? Justifiably? When those attacking Whale are almost exclusively inhabitants of Bradbury’s vanity project and the Labour & Union Staffers Blog, I don’t see how either of those adjectives apply.

Why would a victim, having seen her alleged attacker leave the country under diplomatic immunity, make a bee-line for the court of public opinion and thereby jeopardise the chances of extraditing said attacker back here to face a trial in a proper court? You don’t have to be as cynical as Whale to think it might be because there’s not much of an actual case.

You don’t have to be as cynical as me to think that claiming “there’s not much of an actual case” is typical of the victim blaming predator excusing culture that is evident here and on Whale Oil.

If Billingsley (et al) is a “victim”, I will happily “withdraw and apologise”.

flipper – there are far more victims of violence and sex crimes than there are convictions. That’s an established fact. I’m not saying Billingsley is a victim, I simply don’t know that as I don’t know the facts of the case.

Neither do those speculating that she is the guilty party have any facts to support their insinuations. Why are you addressing Judith and I and ignoring the attacks on Billingsley and here associates? They seem to have been presumed guilty by Whale Oil and some here.

Has anyone noticed that the massive assault on our national security watchdogs is being carried out by a german convicted criminal who has a german name of Schmidz alias Dotcon.An Australian self styled communist called Russel Norman with one” L”missing.Both whingers come from countries where security for their nations is so much tougher.Seems Norman and the German criminal can attack our security system as punitive,yet if they did the same in Germany or Australia they would or could be charged subversive actitivites against national security.After all if Dotcon and Norman don’t like our tame security bureau they could leave NZ. It is not compulsory to stay in NZ for Norman or Schmidz the adopted country of both objectors, to our protectors of national security.

Anyway, it’s about the people who live under God AND government. The Bible expects this of Christians.

It’s not “victim blaming” to ask why the decision was evidently made that the chance to go on TV and attack McCully and Key was more important than risking any possible extradition because of the alleged attacker being unable to get a fair trial.

You also can’t blame ordinary Kiwi dads and husbands if they get pissed off when the big tar-laden brush of “all men are rapists” gets hauled out over the alleged actions of a foreign national from a religion with known issues with its treatment of women.

You said that you’d seen criticism from MSM journalists and I made the *assumption* that such critcism would have been made in the usual arena, where our self-appointed cultural elites display their righteousness ie Twitter.

I’ve seen criticism of Whale Oil’s post from a wide range of people on Twitter, including a range of journalists. And I’ve seen scant support outside here.

Twitter is useful for getting a mix of views, as opposed to bubbles of bitching you tend to get on blogs.

The only place I’d seen Whale attacked were the usual suspects that I mentioned.

Billingsly could have simply gone straight to a journalist to have her concerns aired. The fact she went to Logie raises the suspicion of political motivation. Logies actions have done nothing to diminish that suspicion. Its quite right that questions are being asked about motivation because of this.
I really want to hear the Malaysian diplomats version of what happened too. I hope he comes back.

Moreover, ‘(new) world order’ has a range of meanings from an intended world government/dictatorship to merely a recognition that alliances and the (im)balance of power and disruption around the world continue to change. From the brief extract provided, I suspect Biden in his West Point address meant the latter as part of a wider and quite reasonable point that armies must not only be able to respond to old threats, but also to new ones.

Whaleoil has no idea (Full Stop).

He is desperately trying to stitch his credibility together and make a story where there isn’t one.

The best he can come up with is that the alleged victim was motivated to complain about the governments handling because she has contacts in the Green Party – in doing so he totally forgets that if there hadn’t been a stuff up by government officials in the first place, there would not have been the opportunity for the victim to complain.

In order to believe Whaleoil, you’d have to believe that McCully was complicit in the entire thing and organised the stuff up, just so the alleged victim could make a case against the government.

In short, Whale oil should run for the conservatives, him and colin could have cups of tea and talk conspiracy theories.

Equality?

In the EU case law is being used to push the “equality” agenda to even more ridiculous extremes.

Once was the concept of equality before the law ,now it’s fatties are entitled to be treated as “disabled”.WTF has that got to do with “equality”?

Some people call it “progressive” ,I call it bonkers.
