kea, there you go ranting and raving as per usual.I never suggested its a particularly Muslim thing but its more likely to occur in societies where women’s rights are marginal as is the case under many Islamic societies but to be fair also e.g under Hinduism , and in Cambodia as I pointed out. But its important to point out that India in terms of Women’s is far better than say Pakistan or Saudi Arabia )

I’ve been bothered by Muslims before.

One asshole wanted to know how much it would cost for me to come home with him when I was waiting at a train station.

Another time, I was working on a contract at a government office in Sydney, and two scrawny looking guys approached the desk and demanded to speak to me, and then tried on the charm. Totally clueless when it comes to women, and creepy too.

Operation American Spring, billed as a Friday morning multi-million patriot march on Washington, D.C., to oust leadership from the nation’s capital — from President Obama to House Speaker John Boeher — has proven woefully below expectations.

“It’s a very dismal turnout,” said Jackie Milton, 61, a Jacksboro, Texas, resident and the head of Texans for Operation American Spring, to The Washington Times. He said hopes were high when he arrived in Alexandria, Va., a day or so ago and found motels and hotels were sold out for 30 miles around.

But weather’s dampened turnout a bit, he said.

“We were getting over two inches of rain in hour in parts of Virginia this morning,” Mr. Milton said. “Now it’s a nice sunny day. But this is a very poor turnout. It ain’t no millions. And it ain’t looking like there’s going to be millions. Hundreds is more like it.”

In Sydney as well. I was doing a train tour of the suburbs during the weekend, just to pass the time. I wasn’t even dressed that provocatively as it was winter and I was all jacketed up. It was the afternoon as well. I’ve had far less trouble waking through Kings Cross!

Lucy, I asked for an example of Muslims bothering people. You gave an example of a man trying to chat you up. This shows how distorted your thinking is. Men chat up women all over the world, yet you regard it as sinister when Muslim men do it.

And yes, I know some of their efforts are clumsy and some of the Muslim guys in Aussie are a bloody disgrace. They have no form at all.

Don’t brand me with those people. They are the sort that give you and many other like you a false image of Christianity. What is portrayed on this link is a very sorry image of Christianity – I may get all sorts of negatives by this, but it is not what the Catholic Church teaches. Some of the basics MAY be correct, but eliminate the accusatory fatalism acusations.

But I will say that crazy Fred did not shy away from the clear words of the bible. Society has changed, but the bible has not. His view would have been mainstream not so long ago.

Thank God not many Christians agree. You seem very reasonable and I actually judge christians based on folk like you, not crazy Fred, stupidboy, or sexy Lucy.

I’ve no doubt that Lucia is an attractive – even alluring – woman who can handle herself very well in many circumstances.
That is no excuse for men to presume that they can hit on her in public, and muslim men in particular have the reputation for thinking they can rush off any woman to satisfy their sensual desires.

It is fairly common in strict muslim countries to have the offending member – like a hand for theft – lopped off. These arseholes should have their dicks lopped off and then castrated.
Hows that for tolerance? 🙂

There’s no doubt that Muslim men hit on Western women & in this they are probably not different to any other bearer of X & Y chromosomes. It is the way they do it that causes offence & this can be sheeted home to their upbringing. From the word go they are in an home environment where woman are treated as second class chattels who’s modesty & virtue is more important than their right to live as humans.

Our correspondent “Dime” has worked with male Muslims in Aussie & I recall him describing them as misogynists & spoiled brats who expected their mothers & sisters to wait on them hand & foot. Because they’ve never had the backhanders they so richly deserve they consider all non muslim women as harlots begging for their attention.

The fault is not ours…..it’s as usual their stinking culture & religious crap.

Once again people. I am an atheist and the religious inspired behaviour of Muslims is shocking to me. One point I will raise though is that much of what you lot consider is due to religion is actually cultural. Women were treated like shit in Afghanistan long before Islam. Same deal in many other places. In places with a culture of treating women well, we do not see this sort of nonsense.

We have rammed down our throats on regular basis the theory that Islam respects women yet what we see & what we hear tells a totally different story of Islam in practise.

You don’t believe that. I don’t know Lucia, but even as she presents herself on this blog, you know that she is a woman who is not afraid to express herself and state strongly what she believes.

The physical beauty or otherwise of a woman is not the only thing that attracts men – especially if they have any testosterone in them 🙂
Its how they think, their beliefs and how strongly they hold them, and once you’ve met them, irrespective of physical appearance – which is only skin deep – is how you may or may not respond.
Sure, physical beauty is the initial ‘testosterone’ response, but it certainly goes much deeper than that after the initial meeting.

nasska, I agree. However, I have had a bit to do with Indonesia. It is the biggest Muslim country in the world. It is conveniently overlooked by many. Overwhelmingly they are very moderate and hold Western society in high regard. Sure there are nutters there and extremists form the ME attempt to corrupt poor ignorant rural folk. I know all that. But to hear the shit on here breaks your heart when you actually know good Muslim folk first hand. I know muzzies from other places and none are as described here daily.

Speak as YOU find is the best bet.
