Seinfield criticised for lack of D.

“Funnyman Jerry Seinfeld isn’t laughing over mounting criticism that his shows are not diverse enough — and thinks it’s a bunch of “PC nonsense.”

The “Seinfeld” co-creator lost his cool when a BuzzFeed interviewer asked him about the predominantly white male guests on his Web-based series, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.”

He has for years faced similar questions about a lack of diversity on the smash NBC hit that shot him to stardom.

“I have noticed that most of the guests are mostly white males,” BuzzFeed business editor Peter Lauria said.

Seinfeld cut him off before Lauria could get out the actual question.

“Yeah, let’s get into that!” the agitated comic said in an interview aired on “CBS This Morning.”

Seinfeld then goaded the audience into taking his side.

“Take a look around, Peter, what do you see? A lotta whitey! What’s going on here?” said Seinfeld, drawing laughs.

“Oh, this really pisses me off, but go ahead. Really pisses me off.”

The aggressive move worked, and Lauria backed down.

The interviewer pivoted to a more pleasant topic, asking about a recent episode with “30 Rock” creator Tina Fey.

Seinfeld talked about the appearance, and then took it upon himself to revisit the racial-diversity issue.

“People think it’s the Census or something,” Seinfeld said.

“I mean, this has gotta represent the actual pie chart of America? Who cares? Funny is the world that I live in. You’re funny, I’m interested. You’re not funny, I’m not interested. And I have no interest in gender or race or anything like that.”

In Australia ,No boat loads of illegal economic immigrants for over three months now. And the ones who have arrived are steadily starting to take up the option to go home. Abbott has done a good job in healing the rift caused by Gillard with the Indonesian government and getting their cooperation to stop the boats. Smuggling fees have dropped from $10,000 a trip to $1,000 and it’s clear the smugglers realise it’s pointless now trying.
This is great news for those genuine refugees which seek protection and freedom. Also Abbotts strong will is in marked contrast to the “soft” progressive policy of Gillard and Rudd which lured all those illegal immigrants and caused over 1,000 men, women and children to drown. The hell hole which is Manus Island which was set up by Gillard will eventually be closed as more people leave.
It’s pretty good example of the contrast between the left and right. Softness from the left disguised as kindness caused deaths yet strong will from the right has stopped that. Abbott has shown himself to be more humane than Gillard and Rudd.
Of course you wont read about this in the NZH especially from that biased prick Greg Ansley.

The British Dream by David Goodhart and The Diversity Illusion by Ed West: review

Until recently, it has been impossible to have a balanced public discussion about immigration. Anyone who challenged the liberal view that mass immigration was a good thing risked being denounced as racist. Politicians who talked about the subject, such as William Hague in the 2001 general election, or Michael Howard in 2005, were portrayed by the BBC as extremists.

Discussion was closed down, which meant that the field was left open to the genuine bigots from the British National Party. This was unfortunate because this period of official silence coincided with the most significant period of demographic change Britain has ever known.

Only in the last two or three years has it become possible to discuss immigration in a sensible way. Part of the reason for this change is the courageous stand taken by David Goodhart. In 2004, Goodhart wrote an article in Prospect, the Blairite magazine he founded, that challenged the assumption that immigration is always a good thing.

Goodhart posed a troubling question: does immigration threaten the social solidarity that Left-wingers claim to cherish? In a relatively homogenous society, as Britain was during and after the Second World War, people will help each other out because they share values. In a highly diverse society this sense of community – so necessary for the consent the welfare state requires – is undermined. There is therefore (so Goodhart argued) a contradiction between the progressive support for both “diversity” and “community”.

When the article appeared Goodhart was, needless to say, accused of being a racist. But his argument (inspired by the Conservative MP David Willetts) has been impossible to ignore. It has forced the Labour Party to think again about immigration.
Goodhart has now turned his article into a book. Well-written, thoughtful and exhaustively researched, his volume will come to be regarded as one of the most important contributions to political debate in the early 21st century. He demolishes the myths created by the liberal elite about immigration, exposes the lies and contradictions, and suggests a way forward. Though he tells us many shocking things, he expresses himself in a measured and sober way.

One minute they are told the plane has almost certainly gone down – and now that it was hyjacked, leaving a very small possibility that it may have actually landed and that their loved ones could still be alive.

However unlikely that is, when in times like this, we tend to grab hold of even the slightest bit of hope – those families need a definitive answer. How horrible, and how cruel this has been on them.

I can’t think of anything in the animal kingdom that is quite as cruel as the human race.

My conspiracy hat tells me the CIA hijacked the plane to prevent the Chinese getting those 20 or so tech experts with all the US defence knowledge.

I read a news report last night, which I can’t find now, that quoted a pilot who flew these things, and he reckoned they are over-estimating the size of the runway needed and that he has and can land one on (I think it said) 3500. His argument was that if it had been landed by a person with previous experience, there were a number of places they weren’t considering that were capable of being used.

Like 9/11, the moon landings, UFO’s and other things, I have no idea and are not sufficiently scientifically capable of working out any of the arguments… I am however trained in researching human nature – where both in modern society and historically innocent lives have been used by egotists with some whacky agenda to achieve their own selfish needs/beliefs – so nothing would surprise me.

In fact enhanced warming of the troposphere is a fingerprint of anthropogenic warming. So you are actually strongly arguing against the alarmists’ theory here and demonstrating the sceptical case.
(Enhanced polar warming is, of course, another fingerprint of AGW; which again is entirely noticeable by its absence. Yet more proof that the sceptics are entirely correct.)

This is powerful evidence that recent warming was natural rather than anthropogenic.

And when I say ‘recent’ I mean, of course, ‘not very recent at all’:

There is much (in some ways understandable) angst over the missing Malaysian 777.
But to claim that the Malaysians are in competent is just drivel.

The facts are that US satellites are today able, through one means or another, to track the flight path of almost every international aircraft flight, at some stage during a flight. Moreover the 777 and other similar aircraft have several highly classified automatic emergency transmitters. It seems that it has been established that these transmitters were disabled. What that would require, is closely guarded and on-board knowledge, and crew participation. But it has also emerged that engine pinging devices were in operation for four hours (out of a maximum of five) after the aircraft disappeared from radar tracking.

The French, Russia, and the Chinese have top quality satellite capability, and other means of aircraft tracking/identification. But they are many years BEHIND the US capability. Just how much, and what that means in terms of war conflicts, is the most closely guarded of secrets. Any sensible analyst would ask whether the US would reveal its entire technical means when a foreign airline disappears. It would reveal more were it a US airliner, but the release would be closely controlled and disguised.

So where does this leave us?

It seems clear that it is, as was said by the Malaysians on Australian Sky News last n bight, either hijacking or suicide.

I do not see much point in firing shots at the Malaysians, because they have limited technical capabilities.
BUT…Malaysia is an Islamic nation, is it not???

I was talking with my workmates on Friday morning when we first learnt that the plane was “pinging” the satellite. We discussed that assuming that each ping was done in pulse then it shouldn’t be too difficult work out an estimated flight path based on the last known location and Doppler shift with a geostationary satellite. It turns out that the Inmarsat network does use geostationary satellite.

If my workmates and I were able to figure out a way to try locating the plane with basically no operating knowledge of the aviation industry, surely the experts in the industry would have figured that out since day one.

I have been aware of the work of Remote Sensing Systems for some years now. In fact have quoted it to you in the past and been abused by you for it.
Both RSS and UAH actually measure from the surface up to the Troposphere . The reason there is interest in temperatures in the Troposphere is because that is where warmest scientists say positive feedback and radiative forcing is taking place in what they call ” hot spots”. This was one of the main planks of CAGW theory which promulgates we will see rises of 3-6 degrees K.
This effect has not been observed and as you know the average global temp has changed little for twenty years . Looking at surface temps, the north has warmed, the middle a bit and the south not at all.
My view is that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, as is water vapour . When the two mix, they create warming. However, Positive feedback is less than thought, if at all and that climate sensitivity because of this lack of feedback is about 1.3 – 1.5 degrees K per century.
Natural variability plays a huge part in this and is influenced by ENSO, the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, the Atlantic Multi- decadal Oscillation and sunspot activity (less or more).These things sometimes balance out warming by providing a mechanism through which cooling can occur or sometimes cause warming.No one has yet been able to accurately say how much warming man actually contributes through emission of CO2. There is no doubt that man does influence things by changing the environment we live in. Deforestation and Urban Heat Island effect from large cities spring to mind.
There has been no increase worldwide in extreme weather activity like hurricanes, floods and droughts.
Sea level rise is consistent at 2-3 mm per decade. Just as it always has been as we continue to warm from the little Ice Age.
In terms of life on our Planet, warming is better than getting colder and there is no doubt an increase in CO2 has been beneficial for us all in terms of extra and faster growth of food.
I have nothing further to say to you now , your childish abuse is boring and you can complete your journey on your own.
Our Planet is amazing and we are truly fortunate to be on it.

The idea that a big plane could fly could fly an unplanned/off the books flight within 1000 miles of an operational US air/army/navy base without being shot down just seems silly to me.
Diego Garcia is smack bang in the middle of the indian ocean, if it didnt go to DG then it had to fly over India?

Now the trade has slowed to a crawl. Christine Milne of the Greens still does not get it. Instead she bangs on about one person murdered on Manus Island. If the trade is opened up again then more people will drown at sea. Tony Abbott is dead right about this. The Labour Party does not get Abbott but the public do as the recent State Elections in Tasmania and South Australia show, in which both State Labor Governments ran on an anti Abbott ticket and lost.

Cristy and spencer have repeatedly had their work corrected by others for underestimating the rise in temperature.

rss is not surface temperature or accurate. it also shows surface temprature rise even in your cherry picked time span from 1998 elnino. If the trend is not significant you increase the data span untill the trend rises from the noise not ignore the numbers because of your wingnut beliefs

Whatever theory you imagine you are advocating here, it is not the enhanced anthropogenic global warming theory. It is something you invented from whole cloth.

If somebody is not making a killing on the sale of the underlying land (is it Government-owned land?), then the builder is promoting a very handsome little earner for itself.

The prices are not true “market” prices, of course, given Government sponsorship and artificial promotion. Value (as opposed to prices) will ultimately be established by sales in the secondary market.

The troposphere always has been and always will be cooler than the lower atmosphere, both because of its reduced pressure and because it is further from the Earth where light is converted into into heat.

What we are discussing are changes in temperature; the effects of global warming.

That the troposphere remains colder than the lower atmosphere under all scenarios is a given.

That you could so misunderstand this simple point is amazing, even for you.

So I repeat:

Enhanced warming of the troposphere is a fingerprint of the AGW theory.

Sceptics point out that there is no such enhanced warming, which disproves the AGW theory.

And now you are here strongly agreeing that there is no enhanced tropospheric warming (yet somehow imagining that by doing so you are supporting the AGW case.)

Buy bigger size relocatable houses for way less when located on a section. Two bedroom relocatable I did recently with a big added covered deck cost me under $175K plus section costs. Happily sell it for their price.

This is evidence that the earth is radiating less energy into space. if the energy incoming is constant and the energy leaving is decreasing it gives only one result more energy retained. and before you go wingnut sun energy bullshit the sun’s energy has declined by a very small fraction which actual science has quantified it’s not enough to explain the energy imbalance.

RSS shows a greater cooling trend the higher you go in the atmosphere combined with the surface data showing increasing ground level temperatures. Its AGW or magic climate pixies you chose but for me I will stick to science..

Her youthful immaturity surely comes through. But her fighting prowess which made her the international champion also surely comes thru. She’s the first to admit she’s a bitch. Personally, I wouldn’t want to meet her. Maybe when she’s older.

We love Sarah McMann cause she’s an old spirit but as a wrestling champion even she bows to the immense presence of Rousey. There is no doubt Rousey will achieve what she claims…that she will retire undefeated. she looked down the camera when she said that and took my breath away. And that was before the McMann fight.

I will say I’m glad the Meisha Taite era is over. That whole affair was just excruciating.

wiki – she fights in the chicks division. they have about 12 fighters.

she has this judo which is dominant as, yet in the blokes division judo is shit. cause they guys are far more skilled.

its like youre in love with the flyhalf for the nz womens rugby team cause shes so awesome. who gives a crap. shes a chick rugby player.

the ufc promote the hell out of her cause it gets them mainstream press. pisses me off.

then i see her pop up on pound for pound lists. how the fuck can a chick be on a pound for pound list? cause im pretty sure rousey v barao @ 135 pounds would end up in her death.

in summary – dime hates all chick sports.

Fuck it, I’m going to get into this evangelical megachurch scam.

Some $600,000 in cash and check donations were stolen this week from Lakewood Church in Houston, according to the city’s police department.

Incredibly, all of the money was from one weekend’s donations, the church says. For many American churches, $600,000 in tithes would be a good month or even year.

The church, which is pastored by bestselling author and preacher Joel Osteen, told congregants the stolen money came from contributions on March 8 and 9.
