Fluoride Facts

A useful website with some facts on Fluoride has been out together by some health agencies and groups. It was established by both the Medical and Dental Associations, the Ministry of Health and some DHBs.

Some extracts:

• Children in fluoridated areas in NZ have 40% less tooth decay on average
• Fluoridation costs 50c per person per year and the average cost of a filling is $130
• The levels of fluoride in NZ water would require you to drink 5,000 glasses of water in one sitting to reach a toxic level
