Hi Kiwibloggers. I’m hoping that somebody can help me please. I can log in using my i-phone, but not my pc. On my pc, I just switched my browser from internet explorer to Mozilla Firefox. That seems to have stuffed me up. Cheers.

We are probably all familiar with the oft-cited fact that the collapse of numerous civilizations prior to our own were heralded by a rise in sexual immorality, especially homosexuality. That alone should alert us to the grave situation we find ourselves in today. But there is a deeper spiritual significance beneath that statistic. God has chosen rampant homosexuality to be a key warning sign for judgment of the world as a whole, and not just of individual nations.

One Monday morning a mailman is walking the neighbourhood
on his usual route.

As he approaches one of the homes he noticed that both cars
were still in the driveway. His wonder was cut short by Bob,
the homeowner, coming out with a load of empty beer and
liquor bottles.

“Wow Bob, looks like you guys had one hell of a party last
night,” the mailman comments.

Bob, in obvious pain replies, “Actually we had it Saturday
night. This is the first I have felt like moving since
4:00 am Sunday morning.

We had about fifteen couples from around the neighbourhood
over and it got a bit wild. Hell, we got so drunk, around
midnight we started playing WHO AM I.”

The mailman thinks a moment and says, “How do you play that?”

Well, all the guys go in the bedroom and we come out one at
a time behind a sheet with a hole in it and we stick our
“privates” through the hole in the sheet.
Then the women try to guess who it is. The first one to
guess right, can reach behind the sheet and drag the guy
by his handle to the other bedroom.”

The mailman laughs and says, “Damn, I’m sorry I missed that.”

“Probably a good thing you did,” Bob responds. “Your name
came up four or five times.”

Oft-cited and probably bollocks though – it likely reflects more on the commentators beliefs than any facts. Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Japanese and probably Mongolian Empire all survived fine for centuries with homosexuality. It is unlikely that homosexuality had anything to do with the demise of their historical cultures.

Disclosure of interest – I am hetero and I really do not get homosexuality and find the sexual side disturbing but will always call nonsense when I see it.

After reading of the origins of the “English constitution and common law” with King Alfred … the inheritor of an estate in the south of England realised by right of conquest (of German invaders) then supremacy over other Anglo-Saxon rulers to the north …

one wonders whether he is the German in England Arthur some of the “free men” want to return to be their military overlord, to tear down parliament and progressive taxation and restore men to the command of each household – as if the one who protects the woman has authority over her … like a king over his people.

Alfred certainly wrote his own press.

Of course the confusion is in whether there ever was a constitution, it is not accepted today that there is a constitution or ever has been one. Those posing that there once was one have to show that there was an accountability to it by English government – yet King and or Parliament have always been supreme. Occasionally the King has been held to account, but only by a successful military opposition, not by appeal to any constitution in any court.

A king may claim to protect the liberties of the people and respect their property rights, but is the King required to do so and if not then there is no constitution. The Treaty made promises to Maori that were then not kept and there was no way to bind the government to keeping them until it parliament accepted this by legislation it then chooses to pass.

This isn’t exactly true. One of the maxims of English law is that the king can do no wrong. Blackstone wrote:

The king, moreover, is not only incapable of doing wrong, but even of thinking wrong: he can never mean to do an improper thing: in him is no folly or weakness.

While it could be interpreted to mean that then man who is called the king is never wrong, improper, foolish, or weak, another interpretation is that if the king is wrong, improper, foolish, or weak, then he is no longer the rightful king.

Weihana, the distinction between “human agency” and “mankind” is one of citizenship. Cicero was making a distinction between Romans and non-Romans, with Romans being humans and non-Romans being barbarians. But of course Rome’s treatment of non-Roman people was at times itself barbaric.

Of course most people think that a man is a human, but the distinction is more than a matter of gender.

A human being considered as capable of having rights and or being charged with duties, while a “thing” is the object over which rights may be exercised. (Black’s 2nd)
