Would that complaint against Rob Fyfe made be made by Misandrist, Denise Ritchie who a number of years ago publicly called for Father’s Day to be a day of shame for men because or the number of men who abuse their daughters? Ritchie consistently refused to withdraw let alone apologise that sick comment. She is not position to call any man a misogynist. She is as much interested in bashing men as protecting children.

@skyblue I drive past the City Mission quite a bit. There aren’t such queues the rest of the year, just the usual deros who take time out from begging in Queen St. They are quite large crowds this week (or the 3 times I’ve been past). Whilst I’m aware of the connection between poor nutrition and obesity, no one in the queue looked to be short a meal.

@ Chuck Bird: I notice that Denise Ritchie claims that “… most of these ads are puerile, aimed largely at what Air NZ thinks juvenile males find titillating.” She complains about, among other things, an inflight safety video featuring a naked granny and jokes about female Belarusian shot putter Nadzeya Ostapchuk’s left testicle.

I don’t know too many “juvenile males” who would find a naked granny titillating, personally. Just saying …

Nothing wrong with dumpster diving, but no need on Tuesday, the food is free anyway.

Anyway, I always go to my local Pak n Save at 8pm, they reduce the price of rolls and bread by 300%. Good freezer fillers at 1/3 the cost. Even though I earn $120K PA I still like a bargain.

Another case of pinning the crime on the most likely suspect in order not to leave the case unsolved?

Sometimes there simply isn’t enough evidence for a conviction. This isn’t anyone’s fault, but unsolved murders are not a good look for the state in it’s primary role of protection of citizens.

Ken Ring rejects Mayan apocalypse

New age prophecies say the apocalypse is due to take place today, with the 5,125-year long Mayan calendar hitting its end date.

But weather predictor Ken Ring doubts the predictions, and is telling the conspiracy theorists to “get real”.

“It’s just like the end of one year and the beginning of the next,” says Mr Ring, who bases his weather predictions on the Moon. “The world doesn’t end every time our year ends, and really something was lost in the interpretation.”

He says if world was ending, there would have been signs.

“You’d see it starting to have happened way before now, and I don’t think any of it’s happening.

“It’s going to be a fairly normal day.”

There’s been plenty of looney signs, but no lunar signs for Ring.

See bus & train patronage in Auckland is falling and Auckland Transport need to hire professionals to work on this. The killer quote: “One of the measures of quality is punctuality or train performance and, while the price of our services is high, quality tends to be poor consistently.”
Well bugger me with Chris Carter, I never knew piss poor service accompanied with high cost would turn people away.
I wonder if the Greens will cry foul about this aspect and wasting ratepayers money:
‘Mr Edmonds acknowledged that rail punctuality needed to be well over 90 per cent, and the council body was employing professional advisers for a report to the board’s first meeting of next year on how to improve performance.’
Of course, the ratepayer will fill the void again with more rate money required to sudsidise the lower revenues. As I see it, costs to run these services are fixed.
And we need a rail loop, Tui Billboard anyone?

Well that would be so they can picket Santa next week for to stop him slaughtering his old Reindeer.

Surely with a big red nose that lights up Rudolph must need counseling for his alcohol addiction and Donna and Vixen will want maternity leave written into their contracts for next year.
All we need is for the Labour Party to start anti discrimination legislation over the employment of elves and little people and for Helen to call the unions to represent Santa’s Elves and then like everything else that’s good they will have fucked Xmas as well.

NZ Police will be out with their Radar making sure his Reindeer don’t break the speed limits again so presents will be late.

300%? Really? And you’ve worked out that a reduction of 300% somehow equates to 1/3 the cost? Brilliant!

So, despite a ‘salary of $120k PA’, you can’t work out that if a price was reduced by 100%, it would be free?

Elaycee – Back of an envelope calculation, does it need to be correct? Rolls that are $4.50, reduced to $1.50. Should have said 1/3 the price then. Happy now?
Don’t worry, I actually earn $150K incl car and pension additions, but I like to keep some to myself:). You have rumbled me, I do work for the council and enjoy the V6 they have supplied me to do my job. I even use the gas to go to PnS to get the savings, the rate payer pays for my petrol as an added bonus. 16km round trip to save $3 on a bag of rolls.

Windows has installed some updates and keeps popping up a dialog box asking me to restart now or restart later. I think it needs a third option: fuck off. I have a number of tabs open in my browser and won’t be finished for a while. I do not need reminding every five minutes!

You’ve got it. Organic and free range food… um… yeah. How much does that cost? Is it…. five times as much as the ‘cruel food’?

You can forget about eggs… meat products.. even milk if they got their way.

Just live on fruit and veg. That’s the answer. The activists would love me now, but I only gave up the foods they care about to lose weight.

I caught one of their ads on TV. It wasn’t actually that bad. Quite funny. These idiots have got an advertising budget now. So that’s where your donation goes… funding ‘awareness’ campaigns. Cool.
