Project Agrippa
Murray Hill is working on building a fully working reconstruction of an ancient Greek/Roman ballista as an educational exercise, as part of his PhD based on a comparative study of Greek and Roman Artillery.
The project is supported by the Director of War Studies at Massey University who says the project will yield a substantial amount of practical information relating to the operation of catapults and could attract global attention.
The wood and metal for the project has been donated but there are other costs in getting it from Auckland to Palmerston North and the like.
If you can help Murray make his goal of $1,000 to cover costs, then you can donate here. Would be cool to have the world’s largest replica catapult in NZ.
